Record-attendance at the 2018 Global Innovation Summit is followed by HMG Strategy/Greylock Partners’ sold-out ‘Live from Silicon Valley’ webinar

MENLO PARK, CA – February 27, 2018 -- World-class tech executives gathered last week to share their amazing insight, experience, and vision on the future state of business and describe their roadmap for creating a culture of genius to drive growth and innovation across the modern enterprise. The high-value HMG Strategy 2018 Global Innovation Summit was held on February 21 at the legendary Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park, the heart of Silicon Valley’s culture and mindset.

The 2018 Global Innovation Summit was followed by HMG Strategy’s first-ever ‘Live from Silicon Valley’ webcast. The 90-minute virtual webinar, co-hosted by Greylock Partners, features Hunter Muller, President and CEO of HMG Strategy, along with Asheem Chandna, Partner at Greylock Partners (ranked #28 on Forbes Midas List as “100 Best Venture Capitalists in the World”). Muller and Chandna shared the operational and business challenges that companies in Greylock’s portfolio are addressing, along with executives from two of the hottest companies in Greylock’s portfolio – Avi Networks and Rubrik.

The all-star roster of high-energy speakers and panelists at the Global Innovation Summit included Salim Ali, CEO at Loyakk; Tim Campos, former CIO of Facebook; Norm Fjeldheim, Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer; Head of Global Facilities, Illumina; Michael Golz, SVP & CIO Americas at SAP; Mark Moore, COO and Co-Founder at Inxeption; Wendy Pfeiffer, CIO at Nutanix; Sheila Rohra, CTO and Chief of Staff to the CEO at NetApp; Eric Yuan, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Zoom; and Jedidiah Yueh, Founder and Executive Chairman at Delphix.

These and other technology leaders painted a vision for what’s needed for the modern enterprise to accelerate their innovation strategies.

For instance, Gaurav Dhillon, Chairman and CEO, Snaplogic, warned attendees that “the structure for corporate boards is fatally flawed in driving innovation strategies” and that “a board-level committee should be in place” to drive these efforts.

One of the things that’s unique about HMG Strategy’s Executive Leadership Summits is the level of candor that’s shared between top-tier executives. For instance, during a panel discussion he moderated on customer experience, Tim Crawford, CIO Strategic Advisor, AVOA, posed a tough question to summit attendees: Are you doing enough as a CIO to meet with external customers to understand their pain points and interests?

On the HMG Strategy 2018 World Tour, world-class speakers also define the patterns and trends that are shaping the future enterprise. For example, as Michael Golz, SVP & CIO Americas at SAP accurately pointed out to attendees at the 2018 Global Innovation Summit, businesses have shifted to outcome-based business models where companies are no longer selling products or services but rather the results generated by these goods.

Our superlative speakers at the 2018 Global Innovation Summit also included Rohit Antao, Partner, PwC; Ashwin Ballal, CIO, Medallia; Mark Egan, Partner, StrataFusion; Vic Espino, Director of Business Development, Year Up Bay Area; Patty Hatter, CIO/GM, Start-up Advisor; Prakash Kota, CIO, Autodesk; Rashmi Kumar, SVP & CIO U.S. Pharmaceutical, McKesson Corporation, Tony Leng, Managing Director, Practice Lead and OMP, Diversified Search; Hari Makkala, CEO, Founder, Stealth Mode Startup Company; William Miller Jr., SVP & CIO, NetApp; Lin Nease, Chief Technologist, IoT - Enterprise Group, Hewlett Packard Enterprise; David Morris, President and CEO, HiPER Solutions Group, The HSG; Michael Piacente, Co-Founder and Managing Director, Hitch Partners; Pranab Sinha, CIO, MACOM Technology Solutions Inc.; Bipul Sinha, Co-Founder & CEO, Rubrik; Patrick Steele, Chair, CIO Advisory Board, Blumberg Capital; and Swamy Viswanathan, EVP and Chief Product Officer, ASG Technologies.

The ‘Live from Silicon Valley’ webinar featured Amit Pandey, CEO of Avi Networks, a Santa Clara, CA-based provider of next-generation application network services. Pandey shared how Avi Networks is helping its clients to change the nature of network services by going beyond load balancing to deliver faster provisioning and greater ROI than traditional providers.

Pandey’s presentation was followed by Mark Smith, EVP Sales and Business Development and Jeff Freeman, Vice President, Worldwide Systems Engineering at Rubrik, who discussed how Rubrik has quickly become the market leader in Cloud Data Management by creating the world’s first platform to orchestrate data for hybrid cloud enterprises anytime or anywhere.

The next stop on the HMG Strategy 2018 World Tour is the 2018 Dallas Executive Leadership Summit on March 7. There’s still time to register. Learn more here.
