  • Don Anderson
    SVP & CIO
    Federal Reserve Bank of Boston

    Don Anderson is the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. In this capacity, he is responsible for the Federal Reserve System's Internet Cyber and Network Security services and Financial Management Technology services, the Bank’s IT function, Real Estate Services, and Law Enforcement units. Don is currently a member of the Bank's Executive Committee.

    Prior to joining the Federal Reserve, Don was a senior consultant with Hewlett Packard (HP) Enterprise focused on the development and execution of IT transformation strategies for Fortune 500 companies. While at HP, Don successfully managed a number of multi-million dollar international programs.

    He holds a BS degree from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from Bentley University, is a founding member of the Advanced Cyber Security Center (ACSC), a Board Member of the Boston CIO Leadership Association and Wall Street Technology Association (WTSA) and is an active member of the Dana Farber Leadership Council (DFLC).

  • Bill Brown

    Bill Brown is Chief Information Officer & CISO at Veracode, a recognized Gartner Magic Quadrant Leader for Application Security.  He is responsible for making Information Security, Platform Operations, IT and Systems Engineering strategic assets in scaling Veracode’s SaaS platform. Bill has more than 25 years of management experience in Information Technology, Information Security, M&A Technology Integration, SaaS Operations, DevOps, Operations/Logistics and Compliance including FedRAMP, SOC2, SOC3.

    In 2010, Bill was recognized as a Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leader, an award that recognizes outstanding technology professionals who have successfully aligned technology with overall business goals to advance their company’s critical IT initiatives.

    Prior to joining Veracode, Bill was CIO at Avid where he and his team provided operational support for Avid's cloud offerings as well as maintained the continued alignment of information systems and business strategies to ensure the highest level of operational effectiveness.  Before Avid, Bill was at Iron Mountain where he served in several senior leadership roles, including CIO, and he has more than 25 years of management experience in information technology, operations/logistics and electronic commerce.

    He was a co-founder and executive vice president of PCs Compleat, a PC retailer/distributor acquired by CompUSA and has also held senior management positions at PC Connection, Send.com, JWP/Businessland and Merisel.

    Bill holds a MBA from Babson College and a Bachelor's Degree in mathematics from Bridgewater State College.

  • Jack Clare

    Jack Clare joined Dunkin’ Brands in July 2012 as Chief Information Officer, and currently serves as Chief Information and Strategy Officer. In this role, Jack is responsible for directing all information technology resources, with an intense focus on supporting franchisees and driving restaurant profitability through technology, as well as developing the strategies that will drive the Company’s future success.

    Prior to joining Dunkin’ Brands, Jack served as Vice President, IT and Chief Information Officer for Yum! Restaurants International, where he had responsibility for the IT strategy for more than 14,000 restaurants in over 120 countries, primarily for the KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell brands.
     
    Before Yum!, Jack spent seven years with Constellation Brands, most recently as their Vice President, Technical Services. He also spent three years with Sapient Corporation in various IT management roles. Earlier in his career, Jack was a System and Flight Test Engineer with the United States Air Force.
     
    Jack received his BS in Aeronautical Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, his MS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Dayton in Ohio and his MBA from the University of California.
     
    Jack is drinkin’ a double shot espresso from Dunkin’ Donuts and scooping Baskin-Robbins Peanut Butter ‘n Chocolate ice cream.

    Brook Colangelo is Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. An experienced technology leader and former CIO to the Executive Office of the President, Colangelo now leads the technology-fueled transformation of K-12 learning in his role at one of world’s leading learning companies. Reporting to President and CEO Linda Zecher, Colangelo leads HMH’s Technology Group — a world-class team dedicated to cutting edge technology and services and the delivery of innovative digital content and learning solutions to more than 50 million students worldwide. Colangelo holds an honors degree in Political Communications from the George Washington University.

    Bob is the Executive Director at Year Up Boston. He was previously Director of Partner Relations at Year Up Boston. He comes from an experienced background in senior leadership in the financial services industry. Bob previously worked at State Street as a Senior Vice President in the Investor Service Group. He managed several large client relationships as well as the Product and Technology implementation team.

    Earlier in his career Bob worked in the global business unit as Managing Director of the Australian Investor Services business and Chief Operating Officer of Asia Pacific. Bob has been active with Year Up as mentor and volunteer for many years before joining the organization. He has a Bachelors degree in Business from Boston University and an MBA from Boston College.

    Year Up
    Year Up is an award-winning national 501(c)3 organization striving to close the Opportunity Divide by providing urban young adults ages 18-24 with the skills, experience, and support that will empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education. Through a one-year intensive training program, these young adults complete a unique combination of rigorous, hands-on technical and professional skills, college credit and corporate internships. With an annual operating budget of $100 million, Year Up will serve over 3,000 students in 2016 nationwide.

    Jeff is a Principal Architect for Code42 and brings 17 years of experience in enterprise backup, storage, security and end-user computing to his role. He passionately advocates for the end user during product development and is an evangelist for the elegance and utility of the Code42 platform in enhancing enterprise data security and compliance. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Computer Information Systems from Bryant College in Rhode Island.

    Dave Fachetti is a Managing Director and has been part of the investment team of Globespan Capital Partners since the firm's inception. He focuses primarily on investments in enterprise targeted software companies. He also leads Globespan's CIO Advisory Board, which he helped to establish. Dave brings deep operating expertise in fast-growth environments, a strategic market view, and an intense commitment to help the firm's entrepreneurs achieve success in the technology marketplace.

    Dave serves on the board of BitSight where he is also a member of the executive team in the role of SVP of Partnerships.  Dave also serves on the boards of Kaminario and Perfecto Mobile, and he is a board observer at VMTurbo. Dave previously served on the boards of BitYota (acquired by LifeLock), Cloakware (acquired by Irdeto), Cloudshare, expressor software (acquired by QlikTech), Ingrian Networks (acquired by SafeNet), Luidia (acquired by PNF), OpenSpan (acquired by Pegasystems), Q1 Labs (acquired by IBM), Reflectent (acquired by Citrix) and StrongView (acquired by HGGC). He also represented Globespan in its investments in Enterproid (acquired by Google), Kontera (acquired by SingTel) and OpenPages (acquired by IBM). 

    Prior to Globespan, Dave was a Principal of JAFCO Ventures, where he focused on enterprise software opportunities.Prior to JAFCO, Dave was at Family Education Network (“FEN”) where he held the positions of Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Senior Vice President and GM of FEN’s distributed content management software business. Dave helped grow FEN to over 4 million monthly visitors and a national network of over 10,000 participating schools. He also helped the company to secure revenue and/or investment from America Online, AT&T, Fleet Bank, Harcourt General, Intel, Jostens and DLJ’s Sprout Group. FEN was acquired in 2000 by Pearson PLC (NYSE: PSO) in a cash transaction valuing FEN at $175 million.

    Before joining FEN, Dave was at Trans National Group (TNG), where he held several senior management positions including, SVP of Business Marketing, VP of Business Development, and VP and GM of Canadian operations. He ran and then sold TNG’s Canadian credit card business to Bank of Montreal (NYSE:BMO). Dave was also a part of the founding team that developed TNG’s businesses in the UK, France and Germany. In addition to his operating responsibilities, Dave contributed to TNG’s venture investments group.

    Dave began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers working with early-stage, high-growth companies in the firm’s Comprehensive Professional Services group.

    Dave received an MBA, with honors, from Boston University and a BBA, with honors, from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and is a CPA.

    Hugo Fueglein is a Managing Director in Diversified Search’s New York City office. He is a leader in the CIO & IT Management Practice in the United States and is a core member of the Global CIO Practice for Diversified Search.  Mr. Fueglein is also a leading member of the Global Technology Practice at Diversified Search. He has placed technology executives in key positions across all industries.  Hugo’s specialization is in the placement of Chief Information Officers, Chief Technology Officers, and technology executives in IT Architecture, IT Infrastructure, Application Development, and IT Operations.

    Hugo’s search career also includes being a Principal with both Korn/Ferry International and Morgan Samuels.  During his seven year tenure with Korn/Ferry, he was instrumental in the creation of the CIO Center of Expertise.  Earlier in his career, Hugo was an economist with Chase Econometrics and The WEFA Group (Wharton Economic Forecasting Associates).  While serving as an economist with The WEFA Group (Wharton Economic Forecasting Associates), Hugo refined his strategic process management and developed superior communication abilities in working with a diverse clientele.

    Ken Grady serves as Vice President & global CIO for IDEXX Laboratories, the global leader in diagnostics and technology solutions for animal health, water & milk quality. Prior to joining IDEXX, Ken served as CIO for New England Biolabs, and global head of IT Shared Services for Novartis Vaccines & Diagnostics. In these roles Ken led early adoption of cloud technologies, the launch of new eCommerce platforms, and the commercialization of connected devices & the Internet of Things. Bringing more than 20 years of life sciences and technology leadership, Ken now leads an worldwide organization supporting new product launches, global distribution and support of some of the most innovative and critical diagnostic capabilities in the market protecting our food and water supply chains, and the health and well being of people and their companion animals.  Ken has been profiled for leadership and innovation by partners such as Salesforce.com, Apple and SAP.  Ken is an active member of the community, having served the last several years on town committees, and as a sponsor and senior advisor to Maine’s Project LOGIN.

    Tom Harvey is VP & CIO with Alkermes, a fully integrated, global biopharmaceutical company. Following the 2011 merger of Alkermes, Inc and Elan Pharmaceutical’s Drug Technology business, Tom became responsible for all Alkermes plc Information Technology systems and solutions supporting a diversified portfolio of more than 20 commercial drug products and a substantial clinical pipeline of product candidates that address central nervous system (CNS) disorders such as addiction, schizophrenia and depression. Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, Alkermes plc has a R&D center in Waltham, Massachusetts; a research and manufacturing facility in Athlone, Ireland; and manufacturing facilities in Gainesville, Georgia and Wilmington, Ohio. Tom joined Alkermes as Director, Enterprise IT Applications in June 2005 and was named to Vice President Information Technology in March 2007. Prior to joining Alkermes, Tom worked for Abbott Laboratories for over 16 years in a number of roles within Information Technology including Manager, Corporate Internal IT Audit and Director IT for Abbott Diabetes Care. In addition, Tom held the position of senior consultant with Deloitte specializing in custom inventory and manufacturing support solutions. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting Information Systems from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

  • Sharon Kaiser

    Sharon Kaiser is the CIO at New England BioLabs, a leader in the production and commercialization of recombinant and native enzymes for genomic research. She built her extensive knowledge of SAP, IT technology, and operations management in several industries including medical device, manufacturing, retail, financial and credit card services, and petroleum. In 2014, Kaiser was honored as a recipient of the 2014 CIO of the Year Award for Healthcare / Life Sciences by the Boston Business Journal. She also serves on the Board of SAP’s Americas User Group, a 100,000 member organization.

    Kaiser is recognized as a successful leader for effectively managing international initiatives, simplifying complex operating environments with multi-faceted issues, leading business process improvements initiatives, incorporating effective change management practices, and managing enterprise development activities to affect bottom-line results.

    Kaiser holds an MBA with an emphasis in finance from Oklahoma State University and a BSBA in information technology from the University of Arkansas. She is a frequent speaker on information technology and SAP. She is an avid hiker and spends many of her weekends in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She is also a long term volunteer in her local community. Kaiser and her husband, Jerry, have three children and reside in Greenland, NH.

    I've been fortunate to help build the company from less than 10 employees and 10 customers to over 700 employees and 10000 customers all while creating a highly efficient and large scale technical infrastructure.

    My main achievements that I've helped drive, design, build, and operate are:
    - SaaS platform processing billions of data-points monthly and allowing tens of thousands of users to access the platform daily
    - Web Hosting Environment supporting thousands of customers monthly, serving millions of page views, while maintaining 99.95+% of up-time.
    - Hybrid cloud platform hosting the HubSpot SaaS platform - leveraging managed data-centers as well as Amazon's Web Services Environment.
    - Large scale SaaS back-office processing 50,000+ leads monthly processing multimillion dollars monthly without human assistance
    - Assisted with 2 acquisitions from start to finish (due diligence through company and culture integration). I've also assisted in due diligence on other expansion opportunities. 
    - Built and managed operational model keeping costs flat with revenue through hyper-growth of HubSpot.

    Mark Polansky is a Senior Partner in Korn Ferry’s Information Technology Officers Center of Expertise, an executive search practice he headed up for more than twelve years. He has been based in the firm’s New York office since joining Korn Ferry in 1997.

    Mark has extensively recruited chief information officers, chief technology officers, chief information security officers and other senior IT leadership talent across varied vertical sectors including Industrial, Consumer, Life Sciences and Higher Education. His consultative approach to search encompasses talent strategy, organization design, search process and diversity recruiting. Mark ’s clients range from the Fortune 100 (McKesson, General Electric, Hewlett-Packard, Boeing) to smaller high-growth companies (Under Armour, Regeneron, DirecTV) as well as prestigious public and private universities (Harvard, Rockefeller, University of Florida).

    Before entering the search field, Mark developed and marketed information systems within the Financial Services and Higher Education sectors. He currently serves on the Advisory Committee for Columbia University's executive graduate program in Information Technology Management.

    Mark frequently addresses conferences and writes on information technology and career management topics.  He is the creator of the “Executive Career Counsel” column in CIO Magazine and on CIO.com. He is a member of the Society for Information Management (SIM) and has served as President of the New York Chapter. He sits on the Advisory Boards of The Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF), the national organization dedicated to fostering executive talent among African-American IT professionals, and HITEC, the Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council.

    Mark holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from Pratt Institute and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering from Union College.

    Meredith Rosenberg leads the Digital Education Practice at Russell Reynolds Associates and advises organizations on innovation and talent across the education sector, with a particular emphasis on high impact, transformational leaders. She is also a member of the firm's broader Technology Sector. Meredith works closely with clients that span a broad spectrum of the education industry and include Fortune 500 entities, leading content and technology providers, private equity and venture capital-backed entities, and for-profit and non-profit education providers. She is based in Boston.

    Prior to joining the firm, Meredith was a Senior Vice President at Fullbridge, Inc., a venture-backed company that delivers accelerated professional and business skills training via a competency-based, hybrid online/in-person platform to universities, their undergraduates, and veterans, among other populations. She was a co-founder of Global Student Loan Corporation, a private student loan concern that funded the higher education needs of non-U.S. citizens. Earlier, she was Vice President at the Yankee Group, a global consulting and market analysis firm where she ran the firm's Internet, Media and Consumer Communications Practices. She championed the concept of the "networked home and consumer," advising clients at the CEO level and below. Before that, Meredith was a Senior Consultant in the Telecommunications and Media Strategy Practice at Braxton Associates/Deloitte Consulting. Prior to that, she worked at Grey Advertising, Research International and Coopers & Lybrand Consulting. In the early 1990s, Meredith lived and worked in the emerging economies of Eastern Europe, including Prague, Czech Republic and Kiev, Ukraine.

  • James Ross

    James Ross is the CIO Global Functions, responsible for overall technology vision and strategic leadership for GE’s Global HR, payroll, workforce and other corporate functions spanning GE’s 300,000+ person global footprint.  Prior to this role he was the CTO, solutions development and site leader for the Information Security Technology Center in Glen Allen, VA.  In the position he was responsible for providing strategy, solution delivery and operations with a focus on IT risk, cloud and global operations.

    James began his GE career in 2002 as part of the Information Technology Leadership Program.  He has held multiple leadership roles in infrastructure design and build, data warehousing, application architecture and quality across GE Aviation, GE Energy, GE Intelligent Platforms and GE Corporate.  While at GE Intelligent Platforms he served as CTO where he was responsible for IT infrastructure design and operations across the business. 

    James holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Florida and master’s of business administration in finance from the University of Connecticut. James is Black Belt certified, a graduate of GE’s Information Technology Leadership Program (ITLP) and the Experienced Information Management Program (EIMP).

    Brian Shield is responsible for technology for the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Sports Management.  He leads the technology team on all phases of the Red Sox strategy from creating a compelling fan experience to enabling an effective front office and baseball operations environment. Shield was named ‘Georgia CIO of the Year’ in 2005, his work in television was recognized with a Technology ‘Emmy’ Award in 2006, and his leadership and commitment to Georgia’s business-technology community was recognized in 2012 when he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Georgia CIO Leadership Association (GCLA). Prior to joining the Red Sox, Shield was CEO of Shield Consulting Group, LLC, where he assisted companies with their strategic decisions regarding technology direction, digital media and IT strategy and leadership.  Prior to starting his own company, Shield served as the EVP and CIO of The Weather Channel where for 14 years he oversaw all technology, including weather.com, mobility, weather systems, broadcast television and IT.  Prior to joining The Weather Channel, Shield served as CIO of FTD, Inc. in Chicago, where he was responsible for all IT including their global network reaching more than 125 countries. Preceding his tenure at FTD, he was CTO at the investment firm of Scudder, Stevens & Clark and formerly with Wang Laboratories. Shield completed his education at Bentley College in Waltham, MA where he majored in Computer Information Systems while minoring in Management and Accounting.  

  • Clif Triplett

    Clif Triplett most recently completed his assignment in the Obama Administration where he was recruited to the Federal Government to address the cybersecurity challenges brought to light by the US Office of Personnel Management (OPM) breach of 21.5M individuals background investigation records.  Clif served as one of eight Presidential Executive Fellows brought in from industry to assist in the remediation of significant government issues, in this case, Clif was tasked with cybersecurity.

    Prior to his service with the US Government, Clif worked in many major US companies to include General Motors, Motorola and Baker Hughes in a variety of senior leadership positions. In each case, he was asked to assist those organizations in major transformations.

    He was brought into General Motors by the CEO and CIO to standardize manufacturing processes and systems, and concurrently those associated with all aspects of quality across GM’s 600 manufacturing facilities.  At Motorola he was once again brought in by the CEO. He served as the General Manager for Global Services and was tasked to create the global service organization and market identity not previously existing.  At Baker Hughes, he was brought into the company by the CEO and COO to facilitate the transformation of the company from a collection of company entities across the globe operating in a holding company fashion, to a single corporation with a single face to the customer.  Also led the evolution of remote digital service operations, and within his organization, led the team responsible all remote horizontal drilling and well monitoring.

    Clif is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and earned a Masters in Computer Information Systems from Boston University.

Turgal, Jr, Executive Assistant Director (EAD), Information and Technology Branch, entered on duty in March 1996 and was assigned to the Houston Division, working Organized Crime and Drug investigations.  Upon being promoted as a Supervisory Special Agent, he was assigned to FBI Headquarters, Office of General Counsel and the Counterterrorism Division, as the senior counsel for Domestic Terrorism Operations.
     

    In 2002, Jim was assigned to the Cincinnati Division as Chief Division Counsel, Media Spokesperson, and Supervisory Special Agent.  Four years later, he returned to FBI Headquarters to lead the Director’s Research Group. He later became the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of Administration at the Washington Field office. 

    In 2010, Jim was selected to serve as the Special Assistant to the Deputy Director, providing counsel on various national security, criminal, and administrative issues affecting the FBI.  One year later, he was designated Special Agent in Charge of the Phoenix Division, where he oversaw several high profile cases, including the shooting of U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.  In 2012, Jim returned to FBI Headquarters, as the Deputy Assistant Director of the Human Resources Division (HRD).

    In August 2013, Director Robert S. Mueller, III appointed Jim as the Assistant Director (AD) of the HRD.  During this time, he served as the AD and Human Resource Officer.

    On February 10, 2016, Director James B. Comey, Jr. announced the appointment of James L. Turgal, Jr., as the EAD of the Information and Technology Branch.

    Jim is also a FBI certified pilot.

    Larry Wilson is the Chief Information Security Officer for the University of Massachusetts President's Office. In this role, Larry is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing compliance with the UMASS Information Security Policy and Written Information Security Plan (WISP). 

    Prior to joining UMASS, Larry was the Vice President, Network Security Manager at State Street. In this role he was responsible for selecting, implementing and overseeing an engineering staff who managed network security technologies / tools including vulnerability scanning, network firewalls, intrusion detection, remote access technologies, security event management tools, etc.

    Larry's industry experience includes IT audit manager for Deloitte Enterprise Risk Services (ERS) consulting practice. In this role he managed a staff responsible for developing and completing a Sarbanes Oxley compliance audit for MasterCard International. Larry's team focused on the application level controls and general computer controls for information technology services that were implemented and managed from the MasterCard data center in St. Louis.

    Larry has been teaching CISA certification training for ISACA New England for 8 years. He is also has also developed and currently teaches a class titled “Designing and Building a Cybersecurity Program to Protect Critical Assets”. The training is based on the NIST Framework, and is taught at SecureWorld Conferences.

    Larry has been the recipient of several awards including Northeastern University Continuing Education Instructor of the Year, 1998; SANS Person who made a difference in Cybersecurity, 2013 and ISE (Information Security Executives) Finalist for Executive of the Year for North America, 2013. The University of Massachusetts Cybersecurity program won the 2013 ISE Information Security Program of the Year for Higher Education & Government Category. 

    In 2016, Larry won the John Beveridge Award. The John Beveridge Award was initiated by ISACA New England ® in 1996 to honor an individual who has, over and beyond the norm, contributed his or her efforts to their profession and ISACA ®.  Past Beveridge Award winners have demonstrated outstanding achievements in the fields of IT audit, security or risk including important areas such as education and/or research.
