EXECUTIVE BRIEFING: Building a Cyber Sensitive Structure with Corporate Boards

Larry Clinton, President, Internet Security Alliance

As the cyber threat continues to grow, corporate CIOs and CISOs need to take leadership roles in their organizations beyond their IT expertise. Cyber security is not really an IT issue, it is an enterprise-wide risk management issue. Building enterprise-wide digital security does not come from the bottom up—it needs to come from the top down. CIOs and CISOs need to “manage up” to senior management and the board of directors to achieve this goal. This presentation outlines one successful model for doing so.

Emerging and significant security concerns threaten the enterprise daily and are becoming more complex as you broaden the scope from internal, to supply chain, and out to the customer. Today's CISOs are expected not only to drive efficiency, transparency and strengthen information and network security, but also to implement the best technologies and practices to establish and maintain relationships with their customers.

Key challenges include how do you logically secure a public cloud?  Can you proactively automate security sensors and security incident responses? What does it take to move from ‘reactive’ to ‘proactive’ security?

This panel of security executives will share their views and experiences on how to meet these challenges as well as their priorities for the future enterprise security.
