EXECUTIVE INTERVIEW: Leading Digital Transformation with Courage, Compassion, and #ChangeAgents
David Bray, Senior Executive & CIO, Federal Communications Commission
Hunter Muller will interview David Bray to discuss the quickest major digital transformation for a public service agenda in U.S. government history. When Dr. Bray first arrived in late 2013, the FCC had 207+ legacy IT systems that were consuming more than 85% of the FCC's budget. There had been nine CIOs in eight years, presenting a challenge for motivating a demotivated workforce.
Under Dr. Bray's leadership the FCC is now a 100% public cloud and commercial service provider. This reduced the FCC's operations and maintenance costs from >85% of its budget to less than 50% on a flat budget. More importantly, the FCC has reduced the time it takes to start up new prototype systems from six months to now less than 48 hours using modular SaaS components.
Dr. Bray will share how this digital transformation both prepared the FCC for new opportunities ahead and revitalized its workforce to be positive #ChangeAgents – and how you can apply a similar strategy and tactics to your own organization.
