    Shobhana Ahluwalia is Head of Information Technology for Uber. Prior to joining Uber, Shobhana served as Vice President of Information Technology at Rocket Fuel, where she created and scaled a global IT team to support Rocket Fuel’s rapid business growth. Until 2013, Shobhana held various roles at CBS, including the Vice President of Enterprise Resource Planning and IT at CBS, where she led internal technology for all 10 of CBS’s business units including Network, CBS Studios, and Simon & Schuster.

    Shobhana holds an MBA with a double major in Strategy and Finance from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Additionally, she has a Bachelor of Computer Science in Engineering.

  • Ashwin Ballal, Ph.D.

    Dr. Ashwin Ballal has been Vice President & Chief Information Officer at KLA-Tencor since 2009. Prior to becoming the CIO, Dr. Ballal was President and Managing Director for KLA-Tencor India from 2007-2009 and General Manager for the Macro Inspection division for KLA-Tencor in Milipitas, CA from 2005-2007.

    He began at KLA-Tencor in 2000 and has held various executive and senior level positions, including those in marketing, engineering, program and operations management. During his tenure with the company, he also was General Manager for the Macro Inspection Product Division with full P&L responsibilities.

    Before joining KLA-Tencor, Dr. Ballal held various senior management positions at Electroglas Inc., Keithley Instruments and Noran Instruments. He earned his doctorate and post doctorate degrees in Material Science and Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park and his bachelor's degree in Metallurgy from the National Institute of Technology in India. Dr Ballal lives in San Jose, CA with his wife Sandhya, daughter Shyna, and son Shawnuk. He is an avid sports enthusiast and loves to travel to exotic locations around the world with his family.

His dual roles span innovation and strategic partnerships, shaping vision/strategy and technology alignment, various technology verticals across product life cycle for cyber security such as product management and business/system analysis, Big Data and visualization engineering, advanced analytics (data science), business intelligence and data warehousing, infrastructure and solution architecture, infrastructure and operations, program/portfolio management, and governance. Before joining Visa, he was part of industry leading organizations in the financial services, telecommunications, insurance, gaming, and airline industries. His stint across different industries and technology functions provides him the unique opportunity to apply and leverage the power of data and analytics. Under his leadership, his team was Data Impact awards finalist at Strata + Hadoop World 2014 for innovation in data ecosystem. Earla is part of the entrepreneurship and innovation program from Stanford Graduate School of Business. He completed Program in strategy from Harvard Graduate School of Business. He holds a master’s degree in computer science from JSU and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Bangalore University.

His extensive experience includes managing global IT organizations with over 1,200 employees, budgets in excess of $350 million, and IT integration for over 60 mergers and acquisitions. Mark has been repeatedly recognized for his leadership and success in scaling IT organizations to support rapid growth companies.

    Prior to joining StrataFusion, Mark was a CIO at VMware where he led the company from a server virtualization vendor with $2 billion in revenue to a $5 billion market leader of cloud solutions. During his 6 years as CIO at Symantec, Mark’s leadership in IT was instrumental in supporting the company’s transformation from $600 million consumer software publisher to a $5 billion market leader of enterprise security solutions. He held senior level positions with companies in a variety of industries, including Sun Microsystems, Price Waterhouse, and Wells Fargo Bank.

    Mark holds a master’s degree in finance and international business from University of San Diego and a bachelor’s degree in computer sciences from University of Clarion. Mark developed and taught a graduate class, “Building Business Value through IT Innovation”, at the Haas School of Business at University of California at Berkeley.

    Arif joined Lightspeed in 2008 and focuses primarily on investments in the areas of cloud and datacenter technologies, as well as enterprise mobile and SaaS solutions.

    Arif is currently working closely with the teams at Avi Networks, Memoir Systems, Netskope, Nutanix, Pertino Networks, Qubole, Xova Labs and Virtual Instruments. He was also involved in several Lightspeed investments which have had successful exits including Edgespring (acquired by Salesforce.com), IO Turbine (acquired by Fusion-io), RAPsphere (acquired by AppSense) and StreamOnce (acquired by Jive Software).

    Prior to joining Lightspeed, Arif worked in the Corporate Business Development group at Cisco Systems where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, strategy, and investments in the Unified Communications, Enterprise Collaboration, Mobile, and SaaS market segments. Before joining Cisco Systems, he was with Novitas Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm.

    Earlier in his career, Arif worked in technical development and product management roles at WebTV (acquired by MSFT), Andes Networks (acquired by SUNW), and Sun Microsystems.

    Arif is a charter Member and member of the Organizing Committee for the C100, a non-profit, member-driven organization that supports Canadian technology entrepreneurship through mentorship, partnership and investment. He also foundedWVP Ventures, a student-run venture capital fund, while in business school.

    Arif holds an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a BSc in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada.

    Prior to KER Partners, Steve was a partner at Heidrick & Struggles’ Dallas office and a key member of the firm’s global Information Technology Officers Practice.  He was also a Principal at Spencer Stuart and an Executive Director at Russell Reynolds Associates previously. He also served as president of a Dallas-based retained executive search boutique specializing in recruiting IT executive leaders and CIOs.

    Prior to entering executive search, Steve spent six years with EDS Corporation, performing both technical and professional recruiting, as well as providing recruitment training and counsel on employment-related issues.  He began his career as a district manager with PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay, where he was responsible for sales management and operations.

    Steve is an active speaker and panelist at key industry forums on topics including executive IT leadership development, career management and succession planning.  He is a member of the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC) and the Society for Information Management (SIM).

    Steve earned his undergraduate degree in business from Jacksonville State University in Alabama, along with graduate studies at the University of Texas in Dallas.

    As an active technology leader for over 20+ years, Laroia has served as President of the Integration Consortium and co-chair of many industry advisory boards and panels. He is a patent contributor, a known author, technical editor and speaker at technology conferences worldwide. His formative works in the disciplines of technology architecture and integration have been referenced by graduate students in their dissertations at top-tier universities such as MIT, Carnegie Mellon and Stanford. His works have also been cited in peer reviewed journals such as the Journal of Theoretical and Applied Electronic Commerce Research.  He currently serves on the advisory boards of Vert Solar and Narrative Builders.  Mr. Laroia holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Technology from the University of Houston and a Master’s of Science Degree in Economic Development & Entrepreneurship from the University of Houston – Victoria.

Previously, Tony was Managing Partner of Hodge Partners. Tony has conducted senior IT management searches for organizations such as Axalta, Delta Dental, Kaiser Permanente, Dignity Health, Franklin Templeton Investments, Visa, Esurance, Levi Strauss, Blue Shield, TE Connectivity, REI, PG&E, and Polycom. Prior to his executive search experience, Tony was a Board member of three public companies and CEO of a $600 million public IT company. While at the telephone company, he was founder and Chairman of its ISP and a board member of its 2 million-subscriber cell phone associated company. Tony specializes in CIO search and is a frequent speaker at CIO conferences. Most recently, he served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Enterprise and Global Sales Operations at Hewlett-Packard (HP), where he led business intelligence, operations and customer relationship management teams in identifying market opportunities and implementing go-to-market strategies. Prior to HP, Ralph spent several years as Senior Vice President and CIO of The Clorox Company, implementing technology initiatives to support the company’s overall growth. Earlier in his career, he held technology leadership roles at Cisco, Symbol and AT&T Bell Laboratories among others. He also won a best CIO in Silicon Valley award and a national IT leadership prize. His innovative work in government has also been recognized by the White House.     With more than 28 years of technology strategy, design, implementation and operating experience, Mr. Rossman has led several complex businesses and programs resulting in innovative business models. He has worked with clients across a broad range of industries including retail, insurance, education, forest products, industrial products and transportation.

    John Rossman is the author of The Amazon Way: 14 Leadership Principles of the World’s Most Disruptive Company and is an expert on digital disruption and assisting his clients to build and execute new business models.

    He has served as the Senior Technology Adviser to the world’s largest philanthropy for more than three years, assisting in strategy and execution of complex data, technology integration, IP and multi-party program management initiatives that help to improve student outcomes.

    He has also assisted multiple retail and service companies with their multi-channel strategies and execution. These assignments include definition of strategic outcomes, process and technology architecting, process scaling assessments and implementations and managing significant cultural and organizational leadership change tied to multi-channel strategies.

    John Rossman served as the interim CIO for a large rental business retailer and helped implement multiple cost reduction and service improvement programs.

    Before joining A&M, Mr. Rossman was Director of Enterprise Services at Amazon.com, managing worldwide services to enterprise clients such as Target.com, Toys R Us, Sears.ca, Marks and Spencer and the National Basketball Association (NBA). In this role, he had full operational and technical ownership for existing clients, overseeing e-commerce solutions such as online merchandising capability, website technologies, branded fulfillment delivery and branded customer service.

    As Director of Merchant Integration at Amazon.com, he was responsible for developing the Merchants @ program, one of the largest B2B networks with thousands of sellers, offering products in new categories such as apparel, sporting goods, consumer electronics, health and beauty and home.

    Previously, he was a partner with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting.

    Mr. Rossman earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Oregon State University.

    Rama focuses on early to late stage venture investments in enterprise and infrastructure including cloud, big data, DevOps, cybersecurity and networking. Rama was previously an investor in Morta Security (acquired by Palo Alto Networks), Pertino Networks (acquired by Cradlepoint), and Exablox (acquired by StorageCraft).

    Before joining Norwest in 2009, Rama was with Comcast Ventures, where he focused on investment opportunities in the enterprise and infrastructure sectors. Prior to Comcast Ventures, Rama was a product manager at Cisco Systems, where he defined product strategy for the GSR 12000 Series and CRS-1 routers, $1B+ networking products in the carrier and data center markets. Previously, Rama was a sales engineer at Cisco Systems where he sold networking and security products to AT&T.

    Rama holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a double major in finance and entrepreneurial management and a bachelor of science degree in electrical and computer engineering, with high honors, from Rutgers University.

  • Pranab Sinha

    Pranab  Sinha  is the Vice President of corporate IT at Seagate Technology  where he oversees  the worldwide corporate IT  functions  that includes Operations and Infrastructure, Global Applications,  Analytics & Insights and key platforms like Identity & access management, Integration etc.   Leading an IT team across the continents, Pranab’s  responsibilities include everything from customer engagement, delivery and hosting of IT solutions to global and regional operational support and services.

    Pranab has managed several  large-scale business re-engineering and IT  re-platforming efforts including multiple M&A integration work.  He was the co-sponsor  for the  supply chain transformation work at Seagate resulting in the company getting ranked in Gartner's top 25 Supply chain companies in 2014 & 2015.  He has a deep focus on IT infrastructure transformation geared towards Cloud, open stack, commodity infrastructure and leveraging cloud as a platform, application and infrastructure to drive quick time to value.

    Pranab  has been part of the technical and customer council for several of the product companies including Oracle.  He has completed Program for Leadership Development(PLD) at Harvard Business School.  Pranab  holds a BS in Computer Science and has an MBA from San Jose State University.

    Michael Steep is Adjunct Professor and Executive Director of the Stanford Global Projects Center's Digital Cities Program. Michael is also  former Senior Vice President of Global Business Operations for the PARC innovation center in Palo Alto, California. He has over two decades of operating experience managing global P&L's, sales, digital marketing, strategy, business development, and strategic alliances for Microsoft, Lexmark (IBM), Apple, and HP. Mr. Steep’s team at Apple launched the first digital camera. Today, he works with commercial clients on transforming their industry and company business models by leveraging emerging technologies - big data, predictive analytics, cloud, mobile, and privacy. He also serves on the Smart City London Board and is Contributing Editor for Forbes writing articles on digital cities, disruptive technologies, and executive leadership. Mr. Steep’s passion is corporate transformation through effective leadership and practical approaches to innovation. He has worked extensively at Microsoft and PARC with executives from companies crossing multiple industries including Aerospace, Healthcare, Pharma, and Automotive. He works with the top Innovation and R&D executives from companies including Airbus, BMW, Google, Merck, BP, and Booz Allen. Mr. Steep’s MBA is from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, and he has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
