    Omer Ayfer is a frequent presenter at programs offered by the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business - Center for Executive Education on blockchain, cryptography and related topics. He is currently building a consulting business with a focus on information security and cloud based infrastructure. He has spent the last decade in "head of IT" roles at several biotechnology organizations ranging from molecular diagnostics to agriculture.

    In addition, Omer is an Adjunct Professor at Merritt College where he teaches a variety of courses in the premier cybersecurity program at the community college level.

    He holds a BS in Computer Engineering from Purdue University. When not in front of a computer, he can be found cooking elaborate meals with his two sons and wife in Oakland, California.

    David is an experienced, multi-award winning, FTSE100 CIO who is continuing to deliver an exciting technology evolution at Hargreaves Lansdown. As a member of the Executive Committee he is responsible for spearheading continual change in a FinTech environment whilst retaining extremely high levels of customer service in a rapidly growing business. Under his leadership the team has grown from 30 people in 2008 to over 300 in 2018, including the conception and launch of a tech hub in Warsaw, Poland in 2017. David is a passionate believer in the ethos of “doing what we can do ourselves” whilst driving accountability, evolution and trust as core principles.

    He is responsible for all aspects of IT including strategy, operations, service delivery, development, testing, innovation, change and cyber security of the UKs largest investment platform and on-line Stockbroker. Prior to joining Hargreaves Lansdown he gained vast experience in many large organisations, in a variety of sectors, across Europe. These include Red Bee Media (previously BBC Broadcast, now Ericsson Broadcast and Media Services), EADS (now Airbus Group), Dimension Data, all following over ten years with RAC Motoring Services.

    Mr. Desautel is currently SVP and Chief Digital Officer at Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies (BHHC), where he is focused on creating a market-leading customer experience, driving digital transformation initiatives, and leading the information technology group.  He joined BHHC in 2013, as Chief Information Officer.

    Prior to BHHC, Mr. Desautel has held various leadership positions including SVP and CIO at SeaBright Holdings, VP in Information Technology at Safeco, and Global IT Executive at Delphi.

    Mr. Desautel began his career as a management consultant with Andersen and Deloitte Consulting where he worked with Fortune 500 companies to implement IT and business improvement programs.

He held senior level positions with companies in a variety of industries, including Sun Microsystems, Price Waterhouse, and Wells Fargo Bank.

    Mark holds a master’s degree in finance and international business from University of San Diego and a bachelor’s degree in computer sciences from University of Clarion. Mark developed and taught a graduate class, “Building Business Value through IT Innovation”, at the Haas School of Business at University of California at Berkeley.

In this role he ran the outbound marketing strategy and execution for a number of Cisco’s application networking products.     Naresh Shanker is Chief Information Officer of HP where he leads the company’s global IT strategy and operations. His responsibilities include application development, data management, technology infrastructure, data center operations and telecommunication networks to enable the company’s digital transformation. 

    Naresh’s experience within the IT industry spans more than 25 years and incorporates supporting a wide range of industries including high-tech manufacturing, semiconductor, medical, life sciences and software businesses. He has also led and executed large scale software implementations, outsourcing, mergers and acquisitions, and has established offshore IT and manufacturing operations. 

    Most recently, Naresh was Vice President and CIO of the HP Printing & Personal Systems Group, which included IT responsibilities for engineering and globally deploying Supply Chain, HP.com, Marketing, Communications and Big Data/Analytics solutions. 

    Prior to joining HP’s Printing and Personal Systems Group, Naresh was Vice President and CIO for Palm, Inc., where he had management responsibility for the IT strategy and all of the company’s IT assets. In addition, Naresh was instrumental in launching the webOS products and platform to enable the App Catalog, mobile commerce and cloud services, as well as webOS.com e-commerce operations. 

    Prior to joining Palm, Naresh was responsible for managing Agilent Technologies’ enterprise business solutions organization, delivering customer-facing and supply chain solutions worldwide. 

    Naresh began his career at HP in the Medical Products Group, where he led the GBU’s IT team that was responsible for delivering applications and infrastructure solutions and services worldwide, as well as integrating acquisitions into the business. He also was instrumental in establishing a joint venture manufacturing center in Qingdao, China. 

    Naresh earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

    Jim Spitze wrote his first computer program in 1959 and went on in 1963 to co-invent the world’s first commercially successful electronic calculator.  Starting in the mid 1970’s, he became a serial CIO and then co-founded The Systems Consulting Consortium, Inc., a “high-end” IT-focused management consulting firm which helped found many IT departments in Northern California such as Tencor, Cirrus Logic, and others. Concurrently he helped found the Fisher CIO Leadership Program within the Haas School of Business at UC-Berkeley and its globally-recognized Fisher-Hopper Prize for Lifetime Achievement in CIO Leadership, described by some as “The Nobel Prize for CIOs”.  In the 70s and 80s, he served as the CIO for Xerox Data Systems, American President Lines, QANTAS (in Australia), and more recently as an Interim CIO (as a consultant) for a large number of Bay Area firms. His 59 year career spans the entire growth period of “the computer.”  He will retire to his ranch, Palm Lane Farms, on Friday, April 27, 2018.

    Prior to this Eric was the SVP & CIO of Raley's, a 3.5b+ high-end food retailer in California, Nevada and New Mexico.

    Eric serves on the Boards and Advisory Boards of several technology companies and technology associations. He graduated from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada with a degree in computer science and business administration.

Well connected in the venture community, Jed has raised over $150M from over 10 VCs and has more than 25 patents in data management. After being designated a US Presidential Scholar by George H. Bush, Jed graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude from Harvard.
