Andy Palmer is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor who has helped start, fund or found 55+ innovative companies in technology, healthcare and the life sciences, including pioneering big data analytics company Vertica Systems (acquired by HP).
Andy’s current focus is Tamr, Inc., a company that he co-founded with Turing Award winner Michael Stonebraker, PhD. Andy also serves as a Research Affiliate at MIT CSAIL. In 2010 Andy founded Koa Labs, a seed-stage investment fund and co-working space in Harvard Square. Prior to Koa Labs Andy served as the Global Head of Software and Data Engineering at the Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research and as a member of the core start-up team and Chief Information Officer at Infinity Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: INFI). Previously, he held positions at innovative technology companies Bowstreet, pcOrder.com and Trilogy.
Andy graduated from Bowdoin College in 1988 and from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth in 1994.
