Brook Colangelo is an experienced technologist and proven business leader. A results-oriented strategist, Colangelo has developed and delivered innovative technology solutions for the Federal government, non-profit, political, and private sector organizations throughout his career.
Most recently, Colangelo served as the Executive Vice President and first-ever Chief Technology Officer for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt where he led the technology-fueled transformation of K-12 learning at one of world’s leading education companies. He designed and transformed HMH's technology enterprise and led the creation of the company's new online teaching and learning platform.
Prior to joining HMH, Colangelo served as the appointed Chief Information Officer of the White House under President Obama. In this senior staff role, he was responsible for modernizing, securing and managing all aspects of the technology platforms and infrastructure supporting the first-ever digitally connected President of the United States and branches of the Executive Office of the President.
Colangelo has also held leadership positions at the American Red Cross and Democratic National Convention. He has received numerous industry awards, including The Boston Business Journal’s 2015 Global CIO of the Year award and Computerworld’s 2012 Premier 100 IT Leaders.
