Christopher Desautel has over 20 years experience delivering innovative ways to use information and technology to enable companies to grow, reduce cost, delight customers, and achieve competitive advantage. He has expertise in business and IT strategy, business process re-engineering, group start-ups and turn-arounds, mergers and acquisitions, and cloud computing. He also has extensive experience delivering successful technology solutions for e-Business, Insurance, ERP, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing, and Business Intelligence.
Mr. Desautel joined Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies (BHHC) as VP and Chief Information Officer in July of 2013. As a member of the senior leadership team, he is responsible for leading the Information Technology group and establishing and implementing the IT strategy for the organization.
Prior to BHHC, Mr. Desautel has held various leadership positions including SVP and CIO at SeaBright Holdings, VP in Information Technology at Safeco, and Global IT Executive at Delphi.
Mr. Desautel began his career as a management consultant with Andersen and Deloitte Consulting where he worked with Fortune 500 companies to implement IT and business improvement programs.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in Engineering with a concentration in operations management.
