Clark Golestani is Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Merck, where he is responsible for the company’s global information technology. Mr. Golestani has more than 25 years of technology thought leadership combined with deep knowledge of health care and life sciences IT.
Mr. Golestani serves as a director on the Board of Directors of NPower (www.npower.org), a nonprofit organization that mobilizes the tech community and provides individuals, nonprofits and schools opportunities to build tech skills and achieve their potential.
Previous responsibilities at Merck included global head of IT for Merck’s Research & Development division; Vice President, Corporate IT supporting Finance, HR, Procurement, Legal, Public Affairs, Real Estate, and Shared Business Services operations; Chief Architect, leading the development of the Company’s IT strategy, portfolio, and enterprise architecture; and various other leadership roles throughout the company.
Prior to joining Merck, Mr. Golestani was responsible for establishing and managing strategic client relationships spanning business development through engagement delivery as a principal with Oracle Corporation’s consulting practice.
Mr. Golestani serves on the advisory councils for several venture capital firms including Accel Partners, Insight Venture Partners, Sierra Ventures, and Sutter Hill Ventures. Previously, he served on the Board of Directors of Liaison Technologies (www.liaison.com), Stevens Institute of Technology Service Management and Engineering Masters Program Advisory Board, Intel's Enterprise Advisory Board, Carnegie Mellon University’s CyLab / Sustainable Computing Consortium Board of Governors, and the PhRMA Foundation Informatics Advisory Committee.
Mr. Golestani has a degree in Management Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management, and is a co-founder of Cross Road Technologies, Inc., in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
