In his role as Chief Information Officer, Neal Wright is responsible for the overall governance and management of technology for each of the On Lok corporations serving thousands of Bay Area seniors with 900 employees at 10 locations across the San Francisco Bay Area. He joined On Lok in 2015 with experience from non-profit community clinics and large enterprise hospital systems. In his first year at On Lok, Neal has expanded security with intrusion detection systems and external security audits, and he has advanced the maturity of its approach to technology with data governance and process change management. In a prior role at St. David’s Healthcare in Austin, after managing its largest hospital’s IT Department for several years, Neal established a new IT Department to support physician offices which had been acquired by the hospital system. Prior to the hospital, as IT Director at LifeLong Medical Care in Berkeley, Neal deployed the organization’s first health technology tools and developed the original HIPAA compliance documentation.
Neal has extensive experience with improving accessibility and reliability of systems, improving Service Level expectations, improving Employee Engagement, building Business Continuity solutions, and using Business Intelligence dashboards to improve clinical quality and financial outcomes.
Neal attended the University of Texas, where he received his undergraduate degree in History and his Masters of Business Administration. He holds the CCNP certification from Cisco and the MCSE certification from Microsoft.
