Ranabir Dey was appointed Chief Information Officer for the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) in December 2016. Prior to joining the DC Government, Mr. Dey was the director of Enterprise Solutions at the DC Bar where he led a full technology and organizational transformation to deliver superior support and services to DC Bar members. As director, he set the technology strategy and the day-to day operations of all IT functions of the organization. Under his leadership, DC Bar transitioned to a full SaaS/Cloud based IT model. Prior to his tenure at the DC Bar, Mr. Dey was director of IT at the AICPA, a global association for all certified public accountants. In this role, he moved AICPA's operational headquarters from New Jersey to North Carolina. He built world-class IT processes that have been showcased by technology vendors. Under his leadership, AICPA implemented Oracle ERP, HR and CRM modules along with various industry-specific vertical applications. Mr. Dey have also worked at big 4 accounting firms such as PWC and KPMG implementing strategic projects for various clients. He has delivered results for an international clientele of Fortune 500 companies in the U.S., Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Drexel University and a second bachelor’s in mathematics from the University of Calcutta.
