Timothy (Tim) Campos served as the Chief Information Officer of Facebook, Inc. from August 2010 until November 2016. During his tenure at Facebook he was responsible for helping to double employee productivity to an industry leading $1.7M in revenue per employee through innovation in software development and operations while helping to scale the company by over 10x in employees and 20x in revenue. He joined the social media giant after becoming the youngest chief information officer of any Fortune 500 company at KLA-Tencor, a leading supplier of semiconductor equipment and services.
Tim started his career as a software engineer at Sybase, and built product at Silicon Graphics, and an intent startup. He has more than 25 years of industry experience, including deep insight into the large scale distributed systems, and enterprise software. He serves on the Board of Directors at both Viavi Solutions, and Rackspace, and is an advisor to several Silicon Valley startups. Tim recently started a new venture – Pulsra - where he is applying his two decades of experience in enterprise software, big data, and machine learning to workforce productivity.
Tim is an active member of the community. At Facebook he created the company's program to donate laptops and computer equipment to under resourced school systems in the Bay Area and around the country. He has also been a long advocate and board member for YearUp, an organization focused on reducing the opportunity divide for underprivileged youth. He helped Facebook become the second largest sponsor of YearUp interns in the Bay Area, helping over 140 young adults find new opportunities in high tech. He also serves on the board for the Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose.
Tim received both his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley. He received MBAs from both UC Berkeley and Columbia University. He has remained involved at both schools and is a member of the Board for the Haas School of Business at Berkeley.
Tim lives in Los Altos Hills with his wife Shannon, their two kids Brianna and Andrew, and their four legged child - Copper.
