Today, every company is a technology company. As a result, CEOs fully expect technology executives to come armed with fresh ideas for leveraging technology to deliver new waves of business value and drive future growth for their companies.
CIOs, CTOs, CISOs and other C-suite technology executives play a crucial role in placing their organizations on the fast track to groundbreaking transformation. But success doesn’t occur in a vacuum – those executives who are able to summon courageous leadership, think differently and instill a passion within their teams are able to lead, reimagine and reinvent their companies and deliver winning business formulas that can provide a competitive edge.
Nancy Flores is executive vice president, chief information officer (CIO) and chief technology officer (CTO) for McKesson Corporation.
In this role, Flores is responsible for the company’s technology initiatives including software, infrastructure, application development tools and processes, operations, and cybersecurity. She also guides the overall direction for the company’s healthcare technology products and data and analytics.
Prior to McKesson, Flores served as CIO at Johnson Controls (JCI) where she was responsible for information technology, cybersecurity and analytics. Previously, she spent 22 years at Abbott in several leadership roles including chief information officer. She also led Global Business Services, Abbott’s back office services, through an extensive transformation.
The Greater Milwaukee Women’s Fund recognized Flores as a 2019 Futurist Leader for her strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. She also serves on the board of the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and is a member of the CIO Strategy Exchange (CIOSE), which is a selective program for chief information officers from forward-looking companies.
Flores earned bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Computer Information Systems from Regis University in Denver, Colorado and a master’s degree in Mathematics from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado.
