EXECUTIVE PANEL:  How Cloud Changes the Business and the Future of Work

As regional economies gradually open up, many executives believe that both business and the nature of work will change forever. In order to deliver value to the business effectively, CIOs and technology executives need to move from Mode 1 to Mode 2, pivoting from "the way we've always done it" to "the way it now needs to be done." Technology executives who have pivoted too far to the business side also must also return to setting the technology vision for cloud infrastructure and tooling necessary to deliver value faster than the competition.

Ross Clanton, Chief Architect, Managing Director - Technology Transformation, American Airlines

EXECUTIVE INTERVIEW: Your Guide to Surviving (and Thriving) in 2021 and Beyond – Audience Q&A with Dr. David Bray

Dr. David Bray, Inaugural Director, Global GeoTech Center & Commission, Atlantic Council interviewed by Hunter Muller, President and CEO, HMG Strategy

This session is intended to be a lively and interactive Q&A on why digital leaders must ensure their organizations can both survive and thrive in 2021. Advances in data capabilities, tremendous leaps in technologies, and changing geo-economics are introducing major challenges globally for all leaders. These challenges include increasingly complicated tech-meets-geopolitical landscapes, trade wars, the impacts of COVID-19 and a slow global recovery, the challenges of bot-driven misinformation out of context that increasingly polarizes societies, as well as the risk of international tensions becoming more heated and kinetic. Yet, in every crisis there is opportunity.

Come prepared to consider both just where the world is, and more importantly where the world is headed, so you can be ready to "skate towards the puck" and ensure your organization thrives in 2021 and beyond. Leading this session is Dr. David Bray, who Business Insider named one of the 'top 24 Americans who are changing the world' and who has received the National Intelligence Exceptional Achievement Medal for operating in challenging, turbulent environments.

  • Sonatype

The Sonatype journey started 10 years ago, just as the concept of “open source” software development was gaining steam. From our humble beginning as core contributors to Apache Maven, to supporting the world’s largest repository of open source components (Central), to distributing the world's most popular repository manager (Nexus), we’ve played a meaningful role in helping the world embrace the power of open innovation. Over time, we witnessed the staggering volume and variety of open source libraries that began flowing into every development environment in the world. We understood that when open source components are properly managed, they provide tremendous energy for accelerating innovation. Conversely, when unmanaged, open-source "gone wild" can lead directly to security vulnerabilities, licensing risks, enormous rework, and waste. Our vision today is simple. We are laser-focused on helping organizations continuously harness all of the good that open source has to offer, without any of the risks.
