    Roota Almeida is a dynamic senior IT Executive responsible for successful implementation of information security, risk and compliance systems and strategies across multiple industries with global operations.  Currently, she is the Head of Information Security at Delta Dental of NJ and CT, leading the development and implementation of enterprise-wide information security strategy, policies, risk assessments and controls.

    Prior to Delta Dental, Roota was the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Covanta Holdings Corp., a leader in Energy-from-Waste. As a CISO she led all aspects of Information security and risk, including global information security awareness programs, policies, business continuity and incident response teams.

    Roota has over 15 years of direct experience in establishing and maintaining global security strategies, architectures, standards, and compliance while driving the necessary cultural changes to affect measurable improvements in the organizations’ security posture.  Roota is a recognized thought leader in the industry and serves as a Co-Chair for Evanta’s NJ CxO Summits and Advisory Board Member for HMG’s CIO and CSO Summits. She is also a Governing Body Member for various other technology conferences. She is a frequent speaker at various conferences such as MIT’s CIO Symposium, HMG’s CIO Summit of America.   • Douglas Blackwell

    Douglas E. Blackwell is the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (BCBSNJ), the largest health insurance company in the State with close to $12B in revenue in 2015. He works with the CEO and Senior Leadership team in driving company strategy and execution with a current focus on moving from traditional Fee for Service structures to Fee for Value models. This company initiative is aligned with the Health Care Industry goal to achieve the “Triple Aim” for improving health care outcomes and quality, lowering overall cost and improving the member/patient experience.

    To remain innovative and competitive, Mr. Blackwell is a strategic business partner in Horizon BCBSNJ efforts to grow and diversify income, especially in Government and Specialty businesses, as well as transforming the company’s operations model. Mr. Blackwell and his team are directly responsible for evaluation, integration and operation of the company’s Information Technology assets. Under Mr. Blackwell’s leadership, Horizon BCBSNJ has continuously been recognized by industry publications for its technology achievements, while advancing year over year in terms of ranking. Horizon BCBSNJ has placed in InformationWeek 500 Masters of Technology (2011, 2012), InformationWeek Top 250 Innovators (2013), Information Week Elite 100 Companies (2014, 2015), and the inaugural IDG Enterprise Digital Edge 25 (2015).

    Mr. Blackwell has over 35 years of cross industry experience in Information Technology, Software, Services, Consulting and Operations. His industry experience includes Telecommunications, Computer Hardware and Software, Financial Services, Information Technology Services, Health Insurance and Health Care. In addition he has been responsible for company Operations both on a domestic, as well as global basis, and has had P&L responsibility for several companies he managed. He was part of the Senior Leadership team of a Venture Capital backed company that completed a successful IPO for a developer of hosted wireless telecommunications applications.
    Before joining Horizon BCBSNJ, Mr. Blackwell served as Senior Vice President for Remote Application Hosting Services, a division of the Allscripts/Eclipsys Corporation. Prior to that he was the SVP for Service Operations IT at CIGNA Corporation and held several Senior IT positions during his 5 year tenure there. In addition, he held Executive positions at several software companies including SVP of Operations, VP of Operations and Client Delivery, and VP of Global Operations.

    From 2011 until January of 2016, Mr. Blackwell was a member of the Board of Navinet, a Boston Based developer of software and services to the health care industry. He helped to lead the acquisition of Navinet by three BCBS organizations, including Horizon BCBSNJ in March of 2012, and he was instrumental in helping to facilitate the acquisition of Navinet by Nant Health that closed in January 2016. Recently he joined the Board of Advisors of the Heritage Healthcare Innovation Fund in Nashville, Tennessee.

    Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Mr. Blackwell obtained a BA in both Business and Human Development from Colby College in Waterville, Maine; completed graduate work in the MBA programs at Babson College and Clark Universities in Massachusetts, and also attended Columbia University’s Executive Development Program.

  • Michael Del Priore

    Michael Del Priore has over 25 years industry experience specializing in driving the innovative use of Information Technology in the Consumer Products and Pharmaceutical industries. Throughout his career he has consistently led large transformational initiatives in domestic and global settings where technology was deployed to drive business value.

    Michael was previously Senior VP and CIO at Catalent Pharma Solutions where he was responsible for all aspects of information technology at the company.  Michael led the development of a new Global IT strategy and launched a series of initiatives to leverage technology to drive company growth, derive efficiencies in the manufacturing and lab operations, and enhance interactions with customers and suppliers.

    Immediately prior, he was VP, Global CIO at Church & Dwight where he also led the Global IT organization.  During his tenure and C&D, he led the development of a new IT strategy that completely transformed the organization and how it leverages technology.  Prior to Church & Dwight, Michael was Vice President and Global Head of Commercial Operations IT for Roche Pharma.  In addition, Michael functioned as the Region Head for North America.

    Before to joining Roche, Michael held a series of IT leadership roles in divisions of Philip Morris (Altria) where he provided IT leadership to corporate functions as well as international and domestic businesses.  Michael launched his career as a Consultant at Andersen.  Michael holds a BS degree in Management Information Systems and an MBA in Corporate Finance.

    Jim is the Chief Technology Officer at Billtrust with over 25 years’ experience building highly scalable and robust systems. He is a driven IT business and technology executive who has led several organizations through major growth phases, infrastructure initiatives and M&A integration.  Jim has been involved with multiple successful startup companies where he led all aspects of the IT organization. Jim is a former CIO of the year finalist for NJ, recognized for his contribution to driving breakthrough innovation and creating a strategic IT organization. He serves on multiple executive advisory boards for industry leading organizations and has been an industry speaker at various technology events dealing with the future of IT organizations and building cloud based solutions. He is currently a member of the Society for Information Management of NJ. Jim has also contributed to several trade articles on best practices within the business environment dealing with outsourcing business practices. Jim joined Billtrust in October 2002. Prior to Billtrust, he was the Executive Vice President of Product Development for Paytrust, Inc. where he was responsible for all IT initiatives. Prior to Paytrust, Jim worked as a Manager for Logic Works, as a Senior Consultant at Atlantic Information Management and as Senior Product Analyst for the U.S. Army. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business and Finance from Mount Saint Mary's College and management training from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Previous Merck responsibilities included the global head of IT for Merck’s R&D division; Leadership of the Company’s global IT capability supporting corporate functions; Leadership and development of the Company’s IT strategy, portfolio, and enterprise architecture; Leadership of the company’s global computing services, eBusiness, and information security capabilities; as well as various leadership and management roles across the company.  Prior to joining Merck, Golestani was a principal with Oracle Corporation’s consulting practice.     Chuck is a Partner in the New York office and leads the Chief Information Officers Practice on the East Coast.  He brings deep expertise in Chief Information Officer searches across numerous industries including Financial Services, Life Sciences, Industrial, Technology, and Public Sector .

    Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Chuck was an Executive Director at J.P. Morgan in its Treasury & Securities Services (TSS) division. With TSS, he served as the Chief of Staff for the Global Head of Treasury Services Operations.  He was also a member of the TSS Strategy team where he had responsibility for leading strategy projects and executing M&A transactions. Previously, Chuck was a Director at Liberty Mutual Group where he worked on the Corporate M&A and Corporate Strategy teams.  Chuck also worked in the Investment Banking division of Credit Suisse First Boston.

    Prior to pursuing an MBA at the Wharton School, Chuck worked as a strategy consultant with Bain & Company serving clients across a variety of industries.  He also worked as an Applications Developer at TenFold Corporation, a software company focused on developing large-scale applications.

    Jean Hill is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Business Consulting in New York, with more than 25 years of experience as a senior information technology (IT) and business executive. Ms. Hill has worked with clients primarily in the financial services and has deep expertise in business transformation initiatives with a proven ability to deliver the benefits of IT to solve business issues, while managing costs and risks, as well as implementing business-led strategic plans to optimize expense performance. She is experienced in developing and motivating highly focused teams on the basis of in-house, co-sourced or outsourced operating models.

    Ms. Hill has spent much of the past decade transforming environments from chaotic, customized solutions that were costly and complex to support into streamlined, multi-tiered platforms that aligned with current business goals and strategies. In many of these transformations, she had end-to-end involvement, from evaluating the then-current state, determining the optimal resource portfolio, negotiating outsourcing contracts with key incentives for the vendor to improve service over time without increasing cost to her firm, and guiding the transition smoothly into steady state operations. To insure that these commercial arrangements were successful, she implemented structured vendor management programs that incorporated all levels of governance: executive, operational and financial.

    Before A&M, Ms. Hill was the Chief Technology Officer of First New York Securities, a global multi-strategy trading firm. She built a technology platform that allowed the business to transform into an asset management company from a prop shop, including an order management system, algorithmic trading environment, data warehouse and streamlining the global operations and re-engineered the IT infrastructure by consolidating data centers, adding resiliency, while improving performance and stability.
    Ms. Hill has held a number of senior roles at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Merrill Lynch, DLJ and, as a managing director at Morgan Stanley, she led both their global wealth and institutional technology services organizations. She created and implemented managed-services models with strategic partners in the service desk, desktop support, e-mail, mainframe, network and server support areas. These initiatives led to steady service improvements and firm savings of more than $100 million during her tenure.

    Ms. Hill has a passion for diversity in the business environment, which has led her to start several women’s leadership groups focusing on the retention and development of women, measuring success by the increase in women promoted to the officer ranks. She frequently speaks at diversity forums and events and leads panel discussions.

    Ms. Hill earned a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a juris doctor from Fordham University. She is admitted to the New York Bar. She is an active Cornell alum, serving on the Cornell Council, the President’s Council of Cornell Women and the Advisory Board for the Cornell undergraduate business program. She is on the board of Per Scholas, a workforce development non-profit.

    Ms. Jean P. Hill has been Managing Director of New York Operations at Alvarez & Marsal Germany GmbH since February 19, 2013. Ms. Hill serves as the Head of Information Technology at First New York Securities L.L.C. Ms. Hill is responsible for further developing and managing First New York Securities, L.L.C.'s IT infrastructure. She has over 25 years of operations and leadership experience with a focus on implementing business-driven strategic IT plans. She has extensive experience in creating managed service models designed to optimize performance and provide incremental business value. She joined First New York Securities from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York where she served as Vice President and Deputy Chief Technology Officer responsible for technology infrastructure services including data centers, networking, desktop and midrange computing environments. She served as Managing Director of Morgan Stanley from December 15, 2006 to December 2008 and was responsible for leading both their Global Wealth and Institutional Technology Services organizations. Her global team at Morgan Stanley consisted of more than 1300 staffers in 30 countries. Prior to Morgan Stanley, she served as a Director of IT at Merrill Lynch where she supported the capital markets business. Ms. Hill has a BS from Cornell University and a JD from Fordham University.

    Risé Jacobs is the Senior Vice President, Technology at Astoria Bank and is responsible for collaborating with the business leaders to design and deliver IT services to the Bank.   She has been with Astoria since 2001, and has been in Information Technology for over 25 years.   Ms. Jacobs and her team have been awarded the Best Practices award by the Technology Managers Forum and she recently received the Diamond Award from LISTnet for her achievements and leadership in technology.  Ms. Jacobs also received an Individual Performance Award from the Association for Information Technology Professionals (AITP) for contributions to the organization and the technology profession.  She is on the membership committee of the Wall Street Technology Association and the Board of the LI/NYC chapter of the AITP.   She has presented to organizations including the AITP, Technology Managers Forum and InfraGard.  Ms. Jacobs has an MBA from Baruch College and holds several certifications, including Certified in Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) and the CISSP.

  • Joyce Lee

    Ms. Joyce Lee has recently been promoted to the position of Vice President of Information Technology and CIO of Johnson & Johnson Janssen Pharmaceutical Group of companies for the Americas Region, covering US, Canada and the Latin Americas Region. In her new role, Joyce will be based in US, New Jersey around May 2016. Prior to this, Joyce was the Asia Pacific Vice President of Information Technology (IT). In addition to this role, Joyce was also the head of IT for the One JNJ South East Asia (SEA). As CIO of the various Janssen business & regions, Joyce is responsible for the IT Strategy in support of the business goals, and delivers business capabilities through innovative use of technology solutions.

    Prior to this role, Joyce Lee was Managing Director for Johnson & Johnson Consumer Malaysia and Singapore, where she was the Senior Management Executive business leader responsible for leading, managing and growing the Johnson and Johnson diverse range of Consumer Personal care portfolio and Healthcare OTC medical brands for Malaysia and Singapore business. Joyce was accountable for total business sales of about USD 100 MM business- covering Sales, Marketing, Human Resource and Finance teams across the two geographic areas. Key notable achievements included 3 years of consecutive double-digit top and bottom line growth for the Consumer Malaysia business, and successful implementation of a new go to market sales business model for Consumer Singapore.

    In June 2005, Joyce was appointed to Johnson & Johnson Consumer Asia Pacific as Vice President/Chief Information Officer (CIO) - Information Management and a member of the Consumer Asia Pacific Leadership Team (APLT). She has been instrumental in driving the IT strategy for the region, as well as providing leadership and achieved a very successful Pfizer Consumer Healthcare systems integration including SAP, during her tenor as the Vice President.

    Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Joyce spent the last 14 years in DuPont, as Chief Information Officer, Asia Pacific Region and concurrently Managing Director for DuPont Singapore.

    Joyce started her career with DuPont as Regional Telecommunications Analyst.  For the past 14 years, she held a variety of leadership positions including Global Demand Manager for managing Strategic IT Alliance between DuPont, CSC and Accenture. She was also based in the US and was the IT head for the Engineering Polymers business for the Americas Region

    Joyce graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Systems.  She also received Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Marketing Institute of Singapore (MIS).

    Hunter has published five that draw from his extensive business experience: The Transformational CIO (Wiley, March 2011), On Top of the Cloud (Wiley, January 2012), Leading the Epic Revolution (Wiley, September 2013) and The Big Shift in IT Leadership (Wiley, July 2015) and The CEO of Technology (Wiley, January 2018). Hunter is now working on his sixth book: 'Enterprise 2025', which is slated to be published in January 2020. As a result, Hunter’s unique position of knowing the thoughts, challenges, and opportunities of the IT Leader, he is asked to speak at a variety of venues such as IBM’s Cloud Expo and on TheStreet.com.

    Hunter and HMG Strategy support a variety of charitable causes, including the American Cancer Society, Save the Children, and Year Up, and Hunter personally gives back his time and ideas as a member of the Executive Committee of the Fairfield/Westchester Chapter of the Society for Information Management.
