  • James Alexander
    Senior Vice President

    James is responsible for developing and delivering thought leadership to help Info-Tech customers unlock the potential of technology as a transformative force within their businesses.

    James has been both an entrepreneur and an executive in the technology industry over the past 25 years. As an entrepreneur, he led retail, VAR and system integration organizations including, CTI Solutions Group, EduConnect, Telesolutions Inc, The Stone Soup Software Co, and Metafore, and has also held a senior sales management position at Microsoft Canada.

    Since 2002 James has turned his attention to working with across the spectrum of IT leaders, technology suppliers and their partners to help create a synergistic and effective ecosystem. He works with IT and business leaders to help them realize the full potential of technology in their businesses and has designed and implemented an innovative series of programs including “The Quest for the Smartest IT”.

    James was twice named to Channel Business Magazine’s “Who’s Who” listing as well as being a Newsmaker of the Year in Computer Dealer News. He is quoted on technology issues in both the business and trade press and is a frequent speaker at events and conferences.

  • David Black

    CHS Inc.

    David Black is senior vice president and chief information officer for CHS Inc., the North America’s leading farmer-owned cooperative and a global energy, grains and foods company. In his role, Black leads the CHS global information technology organization and is responsible for strategy, implementation, delivery and operation of information technology for CHS businesses around the world.

    Prior to joining CHS in 2014, Black served as vice president, Information Technology, at Monsanto Company where he was responsible for all aspects of information technology for its global commercial businesses. During his 20 years with Monsanto, he held positions including vice president, Corporate Strategy, and president, Monsanto Agro-Services, LLC, a role in which he was responsible for new business development and the operation of that company’s geographic information systems and remote sensing subsidiary, EarthMap Solutionssm.  He also held a broad range of global IT and enterprise resource roles including responsibility for North America and Latin America North IT, leadership assignments in Asia Pacific and Canada, along with global enterprise resource planning for core business transactions including finance, manufacturing and human resources, and the consolidation and reporting of data from these business processes.

    Black is a member of the CHS Extended Leadership Team and CHS Ag and Enterprise Strategy Leadership Team.  He is currently vice chairman of Ag Gateway, a non-profit consortium of more than 220 businesses serving the agriculture industry which strives to promote, enable and expand e-business in agriculture. He is past chairman of RAPID an agriculture industry non-profit and past president of the Ag CIO Roundtable.

  • Paul Calatayud

    Palo Alto Networks

    Paul Calatayud serves as America’s Chief Security Officer for Palo Alto Networks. Prior to his role with Palo Alto Networks, Paul was Chief Technology Officer for FireMon, leading business development, corporate development, and product strategy. Paul is a two-time CISO and lead security strategy for a fortune 5 healthcare company providing cyber technology strategy for over 300K employees. Paul has held progressive roles in information security at the Department of Defense, Medtronic, Comcast, BAE Systems, Best Buy, and Vesta. Paul is also an advisor to half a dozen cyber companies, VC, and private equity firms. Paul holds multiple certifications including: CISSP, CISA, CISM, and GCIH. Paul holds a B.S. in Information Technology, MBA, Masters in Cryptography, and a PhD in Leadership.

  • David Chaiken

    David Chaiken is the CTO of Altiscale, which operates Big Data analytics systems for its customers.  He comes to Altiscale from Yahoo, where he served as the company's Chief Architect. At Yahoo, he led teams building consumer advertising and media systems with Apache Hadoop at their core. Over his career, David has also built voice-search products for consumers, mobile applications for enterprises, network management systems, project management software, large-scale multiprocessor architectures, a tablet computer, and several information appliances. David earned a ScB in Chemistry and Mathematics from Brown University and a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT.

  • Jamey Cummings

    Jamey Cummings was formerly Senior Client Partner in Korn Ferry’s Global Technology Practice. He co-lead’s the Firm’s Global Cybersecurity Practice and is also a member of the Firm’s Information Officers Practice.

    Mr. Cummings is a recognized leader in advising organizations on the recruitment, assessment, development, and retention of information technology as well as information security & risk management talent at all levels, including the Board of Directors. His clients range from large global corporations to high growth entrepreneurial companies, spanning all industries. In addition to Chief Information Officers, Chief Information Security Officers, and their key leaders, he also recruits cybersecurity consultants for leading professional services firms as well as top executives for cybersecurity technology companies and managed security services providers. He is based in the Firm’s Dallas office.

    Prior to Korn Ferry, Mr. Cummings served as an associate principal in the industrial, supply chain, and transportation & logistics practices of another leading executive search firm, where he executed senior executive search assignments for both public and private equity-backed companies. He also served clients in the consumer & retail, technology, government & defense, biotechnology, and education sectors.

    Prior to his career in executive search, Mr. Cummings was a consultant with The Boston Consulting Group in Dallas, where he worked on a wide variety of projects with clients in the aerospace & defense, consumer finance, telecommunications, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and education industries.
    Earlier in his career, he served nine years with distinction as an officer in the U.S. Navy's SEAL teams.

    He earned a master’s degree in business administration from Stanford University, and graduated with merit with a bachelor of science in aeronautical engineering from The United States Naval Academy.

  • Johnny Dranchak

    Johnny Dranchak is the CTO,  CoreTech App Studio at General Electric.  Prior to joining GE, Johnny was the  CTO and VP of WSJ Digital at Dow Jones.  As a consultant he has led Agile Transformations for MTV/Nickelodeon, KPMG, Macy's, JP Morgan, Mizuho and Subway. Johnny has also been responsible for architecting and building large scale systems for clients such as Nestle, Bank of America and Microsoft.

    Sarah Engstrom is Chief Information Security Officer at CHS, Inc. Located in Inver Grove Heights, MN, CHS, Inc. is a farmer-owned cooperative in energy, agriculture and financial services - serving a diverse set of domestic and international customers. Sarah joined CHS in December 2015 and is responsible for building an information security program that spans governance, compliance, architecture and incident management. In addition to security, Sarah leads data privacy and employee productivity for the organization.

    Sarah spent the last 13 years of her career with Target in a senior leadership role for both Information Technology and Information Security organizations. She has experienced and navigated significant challenges as well as multiple organizational changes in the security industry. She joined the company in January 2017, bringing more than 20 years of experience with Fortune 100 companies leading global IT organizations and delivering strategic technology initiatives. Prior to Donaldson, she spent six years with Honeywell International, where she was VP and CIO for Building Solutions and then Enterprise Systems & Solutions. Kathryn also held technology leadership positions at Stratsys, Medica, American Express, and Wells Fargo & Company. Kathryn has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Iona College and an MBA in information systems from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. She chairs the governing body of Minneapolis CIO Executive Summit; sits on the Hennepin County IT Advisory Board; and serves on the Board of Directors for NuWay and WithAll.

    Rahoul Ghose is the Former Senior Vice President & CIO at Lifetouch Inc where he has overall accountability for IT and digital business delivery for the company. Previously Rahoul was VP of Business Integration for Best Buy’s global shared services, VP Corporate IT Services for Cargill, and CIO for Cargill’s Animal Protein businesses. Rahoul’s earlier career was with Honeywell Inc where he spent over 18 years in various leadership positions, in IT as well as in Manufacturing Operations, Audit, and Marketing.

    Rahoul has been an invited speaker to China’s National Software Symposium at Chengdu. He also serves on the Board of the MacPhail center for Music in Minnesota. Rahoul holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the University of Minnesota.

    Senior Global Information Security Leader

    Mike Musto joined 3M as the Senior Leader for Global Information Security. Prior to 3M, Mike led Merrill Corps Security & Compliance area as the senior vice president and chief security officer. He brings more than 37years of information technology and security experience, the majority of which has been in senior leadership within the financial, insurance, technology and manufacturing industries. Musto has led many areas of information technology including cloud services, infrastructure, application development and support, enterprise architecture, database, relationship management, security and compliance, and project office functions. He is a member of the CISO Governing Body for Evanta, the Advisory Board of Metro-state University Cyber, ThinkIT organization, and a board member of InfraGard (FBI), as well as the chairperson of the advisory board for the Minneapolis Chapter of the Global Cloud Security Alliance. Additionally, Musto has led many other key initiatives such as culture change, planning and strategy, process, service management & delivery, and compliance.     Her career, prior to Donaldson, spans more than 30 years during which she served as VP of Global Technology; Business Alignment at HB Fuller, Chief Information Officer & Vice President of Operations at Young America Corporation and Vice President of Information Services at Norstan.  She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

    Mary Lynne is a seasoned executive who has led growth in public and private companies in the areas of application and technology services, product management, and company operations leadership. 

    In addition to serving on the YWCA of Minneapolis Board of Directors, she serves on the Advisory Board for the University of St Thomas Masters in Technology Program.  Mary Lynne also serves as Chair of the Board for Genesys Works of Minneapolis.

Prior to Gander Mountain, Carissa was at Kohl’s Corporation where for the past five years she served in roles of increasing responsibility in the Information Technology department, most recently as Vice President - IT, Enterprise Information Management.     William Scandrett is an accomplished information security leader with a proven track record of establishing successful security programs across retail, finance, and healthcare industries.  As CISO for HealthEast, William is responsible for the GRC, Identity, and Cybersecurity programs as well as technology compliance and risk management.

    Prior to HealthEast, William served as Information Security Director at Ameriprise Financial where he led the Identity Management program.   William also led the GRC programs for Ameriprise and GMAC ResCap and consulted at Best Buy through Accenture to help establish their global technology compliance program and software development methodologies.

    William holds a CISA and CRISC certification and is recognized in the information security community for knowledge, vision and leadership in the areas of Identity, Compliance, and Risk Management.  He has been asked to attend a number of CISO forums and roundtables and has spoken at elite events such as the Gartner Identity conference.

  • Bob Tapscott

    Bob has consulted on the intersection of strategy and emerging technologies to CEOs and CIOs for a variety of multinationals, including (most recently) VMware, DIRECTV, SAP, JPMorgan, Disney, Citi, BestBuy, and DIRECTV, on topics including security, Business Intelligence / Analytics, cloud computing, and social software.  He has advised SAP on how to deploy emerging technologies for greater market presence.  His recent efforts include creating the Social Enterprise, ITaaS / SaaS, Best Practices / Security, Analytics / BI, The Blockchain, Fintech, Cloud Computing, and Statistical Analytics.

    Bob was a critical part of the original design team for the predominate financial systems at Citi where he managed, designed, and implemented systems for services which included DDA accounts, foreign exchanges, loans and deposits, credit cards, mortgages as well as their associated derivatives and risk, all while synthesizing global requirements in Toronto, New York, Brussels and Sao Paulo.  The systems current manifestation is Oracle FLEXCUBE.  He has consulted to governments in three different countries on how to more fully engage their citizens.

    Bob’s extensive background in successfully developing and implementing disruptive strategies from concept through systems design and implementation includes the training, organizational restructuring, and workflow redesign required to deliver, measure and improve overall corporate performance and customer satisfaction.  His emphasis on metrics, cost-benefit analysis, post-implementation reviews, Software as a Service, and security are leading edge.  His strong analysis, communication, mathematical, and leadership skills and out of the box thinking have ensured his success as an agent of change for his pedigreed clients.   Bob’s background in high-risk systems from nuclear power reactor maintenance to Wall Street derivatives, to flying commercial aircraft by computer has emphasized the prudent mitigation of risk.

An experienced board member, entrepreneur, and investor in emerging companies, Thibodeau has made companies successful by creating highly productive teams focused on strategic planning, customer relationships, sound business practices, and innovative uses for new and existing technologies. Ms. Thibodeau  has served in top executive positions in the technology and financial industries since 1986, when she was vice president and later president of the largest computer training facility in the Midwest. She has been president of Milestone Investments, Inc. a national hotel investment company, and was president of Arco Transcription, Inc. one of the nation’s largest medical transcription companies. Ms. Thibodeau has since served as president of EDI Solutions, a translation software developer, and negotiated the merger of EDI with St. Paul Software where she served as executive vice president until taking the helm of Charter Solutions. Throughout her career, Thibodeau’s leadership has extended to serving on the boards of directors of more than a dozen companies including Dri-Steem, The Credit Company, Microworx, Arco Transcription, Milestone Investments, EDI Solutions, HCMC Advisory Board, as well as on boards of trade, professional and non-profit organizations.  Currently she serves on the Board of Directors of BRAAS, M Health, Women’s Health Leadership Trust, Minnesota High Tech Association, and Minnesota Visiting Nurses Agency. Ms Thibodeau also started  Minnesota Women Corporate Directors and is on the Advisory Board for Women in the Boardroom. Ms. Thibodeau has been on the Governance, Nominating and Compensation Committees of many boards and well suited to serve on these committees. Ms. Thibodeau has received numerous awards for her success in leadership, her business results and her advocacy for women entrepreneurs and for women serving on boards.  She received a Lifeline Award from Upsize magazine in 2007; the Minnesota Business Owner of the Year award from the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) in 2004; and recognition as one of the “Top 25 Innovative Women” by the Minneapolis/St Paul Business Journal, one of 500 Top Diversity Awards in the US and the Jean Harris Award in 2012 from the Women’s Health Leadership Trust. Thibodeau is an alumna of the University of Minnesota, Mankato, and of the Executive Management Development Program at University of St. Thomas, St, Paul.
