    Ashwin Ballal joined Medallia, a market leader in customer experience management in 2016 as its first ever CIO. He is responsible for building best in class IT infrastructure, collaboration services, workplace services, and business systems that globally scale and provide a spectacular employee and digital systems experience. During his tenure at Medallia, Ashwin has been responsible for Customer Experience Management, including several transformational business programs and projects that drive the top line growth and go-to-market strategies. He also envisioned and developed a very unique product solution for CxO’s.


    Prior to joining Medallia, Ashwin was Chief Information, Intelligence & Data Officer at KLA-Tencor, a market leading semiconductor capital equipment company globally responsible for driving business value, managing and supporting IT Infrastructure, Business Applications, Productivity and Collaboration tools, Advanced Data Analytics and Enterprise Risk Management. Ashwin was instrumental in several enterprise business transformations at KLA-Tencor, which included business process optimization, outsourcing, cloud migration, mobile solutions, big data analytics, NLP, ML & AI. Prior to serving as CIO, Ashwin was President and Managing Director for KLA-Tencor India. He was responsible for all offshore software development for KLA-Tencor products and all back-office managed and shared services, including Supply Chain, Finance, HR & IT operations. Ashwin’s tenure at KLA-Tencor also included being General Manager for the Macro Inspection product division for KLA-Tencor with full P&L responsibilities. Additionally, Ashwin held various executive and senior level positions at KLA-Tencor in Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Program and Business Operations Management. He has also held various senior management positions at Electroglas Inc., Keithley Instruments, and Noran Instruments.

    Ashwin earned his doctorate and post doctorate degrees in Material Science and Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park and his bachelor's degree in Metallurgy from the National Institute of Technology in India.

    Ashwin has been the recipient of many leadership awards including the HMG strategy

    most Innovative CIO award and CIO 100 Innovation awards. He continues to be a strong

    advocate for women and an active mentor, including Womens unlimited. Additionally, Ashwin was a board member of the Children’s Discovery Museum. Ashwin continues to be an investor, business mentor for early startups, and very active in the CIO and VC communities. He is also a charter member of TIE.

  • Todd Barnum
    GoPro Inc.

    Todd Barnum is the Chief Information Security Officer for GoPro in San Mateo California.  In this role, he leads the information security team, and helps GoPro secure its critical information assets.

    Prior to GoPro, Todd spent time at two consulting firms, KPMG LLP, and Forrester Research.  In both positions Todd led Information Security Consulting Practices.   

    Prior to these consultant gigs, Todd was the Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Warner Bros Entertainment in Burbank California.  At the same time Todd also had the pleasure of serving Warner Bros as the Vice President of Enterprise Architecture, and was responsible for architecting and securing the transition from and entirely insourced IT model to one that was entirely outsourced and off-shored. 

    Prior to Warner Bros, Todd spent 8 years at AMGEN, headquartered in Los Angeles where he served as Corporate Director and Chief Information Security Officer. 

    Early in his career, Todd learned the details of information security as a Naval Officer managing some of the Navy’s largest telecommunication systems.  Todd got his Masters in Telecommunications from the United States Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey California, and his Bachelors from the University of Hawaii. 

    Todd is also an Adjunct Professor at California Luther University where he’s taught computer science courses since 2001.  Todd also served as a Board member of the Ventura County YMCA, and was a part Orange County’s Big Brother Big Sister Program.

  • Sandeep Bhadra
    Menlo Ventures

    Sandeep Bhadra joined Menlo in 2015 and focuses on enterprise investments. Companies in the Menlo portfolio he is involved with include AppDome, Platform9, Signifyd, and Unravel Data. Sandeep was most recently with Cisco's Corporate Business Development team working on acquisitions and investments in cloud, enterprise infrastructure software, and big data/analytics. Sandeep was actively involved with Cisco's acquisitions of tail-f (SDN orchestration), Metacloud (Openstack private cloud) and Memoir Systems (next-gen network memory), and investments in Map-R, Platfora and Moogsoft (big data / analytics).

    Earlier, Sandeep was an engineer at Texas Instruments' R&D unit - where he led projects to build an Openflow switch chip, an ultra low-power IoT wireless mote and 4G/LTE small-cell networks. 

    Sandeep received a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelors degree from IIT Madras, both in Electrical Engineering, and an MBA from INSEAD. In his spare time, Sandeep likes to travel up and down the pacific coast with his dog, read fiction, and drink burgundies.

  • Jeff Brzycki

    As Autodesk’s Chief Information Officer, Jeff Brzycki leads the Enterprise Information Services (EIS) organization and his team plans, builds, runs and secures the applications, infrastructure and data that run Autodesk.  With Autodesk’s transition to a subscription-based business model, the EIS team has partnered broadly across the company to deliver new business systems and big-data capabilities to accelerate Autodesk’s evolution.

    Prior to joining Autodesk in 2009, Jeff served as the CIO for VeriSign and led a large global IT organization. During his 25+ years in the IT industry, Jeff has held leadership positions at high-profile Silicon Valley companies including Symantec, Veritas, Silicon Graphics and Hewlett-Packard.  During the dot-com era, Jeff also served as CIO for a start-up company in the Enterprise Applications ASP space.

    Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin with a double major in Accounting and Information Systems Design.

  • Paul Chapman

    Paul Chapman is the Global Chief Information Officer at Box, where he is responsible for leading the company’s global information technology strategy, cyber risk and compliance practices and customer advocacy. His mandate includes the development and delivery of key technology initiatives to support the company’s growing workforce and customer
    base, cyber risk programs for business and product security operations, product security assurance, physical security and compliance.
    Prior to Box, Paul was the CIO of HP Software for HP, where he led the IT organization and supported the development and delivery of IT solutions. Chapman also served as Vice President of Global Infrastructure and Cloud Operations and Vice President of Enterprise
    Applications at VMware.
    He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Filton Tech in the United Kingdom.

    Bob Concannon was formerly a Senior Client Partner within the San Francisco office of Korn Ferry and was a member of the Firm’s Global Technology Market. Mr. Concannon has over 30 years of technology executive search experience, leading numerous CIO and CTO searches across industries. He also served on Korn/Ferry's Information Technology Officers Center of Expertise. Furthermore, Mr. Concannon led searches in the software and IT communities on assignments for clients in the areas of cloud, mobility and enterprise software. Previously, Mr. Concannon served in sales and marketing roles for both Pioneer Electronics and Sony Corporation. His portfolio clients have included well-established companies like Microsoft, Oracle, 3Com, Cisco and Nokia, and a host of start-up companies funded by tier-1 venture capital. He has completed over 500 search projects in his career with many of those projects reaching successful IPOs. Published and quoted often in The Wall Street Journal, San Jose Mercury News, CFO and CIO Magazines, as well as being featured twice on ABC’s World News Tonight with Peter Jennings in their Silicon Valley report, Mr. Concannon has served as an expert on Silicon Valley trends for over 15 years. He has been a guest lecturer at The University of California Berkeley and Stanford University. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of the Pacific.

Denecour received her BS in Business Administration and Management Information Systems from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. She is currently serving on the boards of the Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose and CapOneSource.

    Anil Earla was formerly the Head of Information and Data Analytics for Global IS at Visa Inc., where he lead diverse teams of business and technology. As an intrapreneur, he is passionate about bringing Silicon Valley innovation mindset to larger organizations. His dual roles span innovation and strategic partnerships, shaping vision/strategy and technology alignment, various technology verticals across product life cycle for cyber security such as product management and business/system analysis, Big Data and visualization engineering, advanced analytics (data science), business intelligence and data warehousing, infrastructure and solution architecture, infrastructure and operations, program/portfolio management, and governance. Before joining Visa, he was part of industry leading organizations in the financial services, telecommunications, insurance, gaming, and airline industries. His stint across different industries and technology functions provides him the unique opportunity to apply and leverage the power of data and analytics. Under his leadership, his team was Data Impact awards finalist at Strata + Hadoop World 2014 for innovation in data ecosystem. Earla is part of the entrepreneurship and innovation program from Stanford Graduate School of Business. He completed Program in strategy from Harvard Graduate School of Business. He holds a master’s degree in computer science from JSU and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Bangalore University.

  • Mark Egan

    Mark Egan is a partner at StrataFusion Group, Inc. and has more than 25 years of information technology experience, with expertise in IT transformation, information security, and mergers & acquisitions. His extensive experience includes managing global IT organizations with over 1,200 employees, budgets in excess of $350 million, and IT integration for over 60 mergers and acquisitions. Mark has been repeatedly recognized for his leadership and success in scaling IT organizations to support rapid growth companies.

    Prior to joining StrataFusion, Mark was a CIO at VMware where he led the company from a server virtualization vendor with $2 billion in revenue to a $5 billion market leader of cloud solutions. During his 6 years as CIO at Symantec, Mark’s leadership in IT was instrumental in supporting the company’s transformation from $600 million consumer software publisher to a $5 billion market leader of enterprise security solutions. He held senior level positions with companies in a variety of industries, including Sun Microsystems, Price Waterhouse, and Wells Fargo Bank.

    Mark holds a master’s degree in finance and international business from University of San Diego and a bachelor’s degree in computer sciences from University of Clarion. Mark developed and taught a graduate class, “Building Business Value through IT Innovation”, at the Haas School of Business at University of California at Berkeley.

  • Tom Frangione

    As Greylock’s former COO, Tom led the operations team, including marketing, executive and core talent, and customer development efforts.

    Prior to Greylock, Tom co-founded and served as CEO of two venture backed start-ups. Most recently, he was CEO of Simply Continuous, a small-enterprise focused service provider in the large scale data back-up and virtual server recovery business, backed by Greylock Partners that was sold to NetEnrich in 2010. Before that, he was co-founder and CEO of Telephia. Telephia provided syndicated marketing and network quality information to the wireless industry. Telephia was sold to Nielsen in 2007 for $440 million.  Earlier, Tom was SVP and General Manager for Mindscape’s Entertainment division, before its sale to Learning Company, and a consultant with McKinsey & Co. in their Palo Alto, New York, and Milan offices.Tom was on the board of directors for Superscape before its sale to Glu Mobile in 2008.

    Tom holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University, where he also played soccer.

Previously at Align, she held positions of increasing responsibility leading business operations, and engineering for customer facing applications. While at the telephone company, he was founder and Chairman of its ISP and a board member of its 2 million-subscriber cell phone subsidiary. 

    Tony uses his operating experience from being a CEO, financial background as a CPA and CA, and technical knowledge from the work that he has done for Tech companies to drill down and understand at a nuanced level what his clients are seeking to achieve as they build their teams. He has written numerous papers on technology leadership and the challenges facing technology leaders today and authors a blog, ‘Resources for the Modern CIO” (

    The core of Tony’s consulting has been with senior leaders who are seeking to transform their organizations as they face a future of rapid change, digitization, regulation, shifting markets, and increasingly connected and informed customers.

    Kathy McElligott is Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer of McKesson Corporation.     Prior to McKesson, McElligott served as the CIO of Emerson, a St. Louis-based global manufacturing and technology company, where she managed the company’s information technology strategy and information security for its global operations, including hardware, software, and services, as well as its telecommunications and data center infrastructure.

    McElligott sits on the board of directors at ArcBest, a publicly traded $2.6B freight transportation and logistics company.

  • Declan Morris

    Declan Morris is Chief Information Officer at Splunk, responsible for the information technology (IT) infrastructure and applications used across the company globally. He is also responsible for operating Splunk products internally, and securing all corporate and Splunk Cloud solutions.

    Prior to joining Splunk, Mr. Morris was Vice President of Cloud Operations for Adobe Creative Cloud where he played a foundational role in transitioning Adobe’s Digital Media business to the Cloud. With more than 30 years in the high technology industry, he has also served in various IT leadership positions at eBay, PayPal, Goldman Sachs, and Charles Schwab & Co. Mr. Morris holds a BS Information Management Systems from the University of San Francisco. He serves on the Technical Advisory Boards for Ellie Mae and Benhamou Global Ventures.

    Emily Schaffer, Executive Director at Year Up Bay Area Emily started her career addressing poverty and its impact on educational opportunities as a part of the Teach for America teaching corps in urban Los Angeles. After teaching for three years, Emily moved to the business sector to learn first-hand about business strategy. She used this experience to guide her work in business development as the Director of Programs for SpringBoard Forward, bringing a cutting-edge career development program to thousands of entry-level workers in the Bay Area. At YUBA Emily oversaw the outreach, admissions, student services and corporate engagement teams, ensuring that each phase of the program students feel supported and well prepared for their next steps: internship, graduation and job placement. Emily currently serves as YUBA’s Interim Executive Director, managing all aspects of the site as Jay transitions into his new role. Emily received her Education M.A. from Loyola Marymount University.

    Most recently, Brad Strock served as the CIO of PayPal, a Fortune 250 company that is  transforming the world of global payments, commerce, and how individuals access financial  services.  Brad has over 30 years of experience in helping companies grow through disruptive  technologies and digital transformation.  Throughout his career, he has led numerous business  turnarounds, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic growth initiatives.  Brad has a unique mix of  expertise spanning business strategy, finance, risk management, and operations, coupled with a  deep passion for technology and how it can transform businesses to drive growth through digital  transformation.  He has demonstrated experience in influencing and driving change spanning the  boardroom to the individual contributor level.

    Brad led a broad scope of responsibilities contributing to PayPal’s ten‐year revenue growth rate  of over 20% annually. He led a team of over 1,400 providing both IT functions and software  development for operations platforms supporting a global enterprise operating in 200 markets,  24 languages and 65 locations. Brad served at PayPal for over seven years, and in the CIO role  he led the transformation of PayPal's operations platforms to support dramatic user growth  while holding costs flat and creating incremental revenue opportunities. He also transformed  how technology can enable a large global workforce to operate with the speed and flexibility of  a startup.  Brad also led the IT separation from eBay in 2015.

    Prior to PayPal, Brad held several senior executive roles at Bank of America, including leading  the Next Generation Payments and Commerce team that created what is now the Zelle  payments platform. Prior to Bank of America, Brad led the creation of a new rewards platform  at JP Morgan Chase that has delivered innovative new credit card products propelling  growth.  Brad's early career spanned a wide range of strategy and financial roles including M&A  work, turnarounds, and strategic planning roles.   

    Brad currently serves as an Independent Director of Elevate Credit (NYSE: ELVT), as well as  Hiinga, a nonprofit providing micro loans in Africa.  He is a frequent speaker at both business  and technology forums and has authored numerous articles on innovation as well as being a coinventor on several U.S. Patents.  He is a passionate supporter of building diverse, high  performing teams.  He received his MSM (MBA) in Finance from the Krannert School of  Management at Purdue University, along with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue.  He  and his wife, Vicky, have been married for 30 years and have three children.

    Prior to joining Sophos, Tony was chief information officer at GoPro, the camera maker and content enabler. Prior to GoPro, Tony served as senior vice president for Informatica Cloud and Subscription Sales where he was responsible for growing Informatica’s global Cloud business. During his career at Informatica Tony also served as chief information officer, and as executive director of North Asia based in China.

    Prior to joining Informatica in 2002, Tony worked at Converge as the Director of Exchange Applications and Mindcrossing as vice president product development.
