    Max Chan is the VP of global information solutions (GIS) and is responsible for the delivery of all strategic business IT and digital transformation initiatives. Max and his team work closely with senior executives to translate business strategies to IT roadmaps, and drive prioritization of these initiatives through a global governance process.

    Max joined Avnet in 2013 as VP of IT for the Technology Solutions business in Asia Pacific. In this role, he led critical system implementations and enhancements, helping build Avnet’s Global Development Centers, while driving process improvement initiatives in the region. Max was later transferred to Phoenix, Arizona to take on global application and business relationship management roles, before being promoted to his current role in Dec 2018.

    Prior to Avnet, Max held several IT leadership roles including; CIO, Asia at VF Corporation, and VP, IT building efficiency, Asia at Johnson Controls.

  • Barbara Cooper

    A highly successful and industry recognized corporate career spanning four decades and crossing five industries: retail, financial services, municipal government, logistics/distribution and automotive. An innovator and risk-taker known for her passion for business alignment, organizational strategy, optimizing and developing exceptional IT talent.

    She became the first female Vice President in the technology function at American Express and led the company globally into the personal computing and networking generation, connecting travel offices and operating centers around the world together for the first time. Her reputation as an innovator and risk taker built from there as she took on her first CIO role at Maricopa County, Arizona, the fourth largest in the US. She was appointed acting County Manager during a serious and widely publicized financial crisis in 1994. Established a turnaround strategy that avoided bankruptcy and established a viable budget and funding model leading to financial stability. 

    Her reputation as a successful turnaround and transformational leader established, she started being recruited for even more challenging CIO roles. She was recruited by Toyota having spent a short fourteen months as the CIO for MicroAge to transform an IT function that not keeping pace with the dramatic growth of the business in North America. As Group VP and CIO of Toyota, she was responsible for modernizing the company’s technology and governance practices. 

    She established her own business in 2013 specializing in Executive Coaching for CIO’s and senior IT management in addition to consulting for IT organizations in transition. She serves as a coach for the CIO Executive Council’s Pathways Program as well as coaching clients directly in both private and public sector IT as part of her consulting company.

    On November 1, Lev became the Chief Information Officer at Arizona State University. He will lead the ASU University Technology Office that provides technology services to all students, faculty, and staff.  He is also cofounder of DigitalC, previously OneCommunity, the award-winning non-profit organization enabling and celebrating innovation, collaboration, and productivity through next-generation broadband networks, big open data solutions, and IoT for public benefit.

    Lev was CIO at Case Western Reserve University from 2001-2013. He and his colleagues were internationally recognized for technology innovations in community engagement, learning spaces, next-generation network projects, and organizational development. Lev's innovations, including the Case Connection Zone, catalyzed national projects such as US Ignite and Gig.U.

    Inside Business Magazine named Lev one of their Power 100 in 2015. In 2011, Government Technology awarded Lev one of their "Top 25 Doers, Dreamers & Drivers in Public-Sector Innovation." In the same year, Crain's Business Cleveland named Gonick one its "10 Difference Makers" in Northeast Ohio, and Broadband Properties honored him with their Cornerstone Award for "using fiber to build an inclusive society and empower individuals." In 2010, he received recognition as "Visionary of the Year" from NATOA. Lev has been recognized by ComputerWorld as a Premier 100 IT leader and honored by CIO magazine with a CIO 100 Award.

    Mr. Frank J. Grimmelmann is President & CEO/Intelligence Liaison Officer for the Arizona Cyber Threat Response Alliance (ACTRA), a non-profit entity that is closely affiliated with the FBI’s AZ InfraGard Program. ACTRA’s focus is to enable its private and public sector member organizations to respond to the escalating national cyber threat, and to leverage InfraGard’s vast private sector volunteer membership as a force multiplier in protecting our nation’s critical infrastructure and national security. Mr. Grimmelmann serves as the Co-Chair (together with Arizona’s Chief Information Security Officer) for the Arizona Cybersecurity Team (‘ACT’), created through the Governor’s Executive Order signed 3/1/18. He also serves as a Member of the National Leadership Group for the Information Sharing & Analysis Organization Standards Organization (‘ISAO SO’) at the University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA), created under the President’s Executive Order 13691. As the leader of ACTRA, Mr. Grimmelmann represents the private sector in the Arizona Counter terrorism Information Center (ACTIC) and serves as the first private sector representative on its Executive Board. He also acts as the private sector liaison to the FBI Cyber Squad and the FBI’s Arizona InfraGard Program. Mr. Grimmelmann served four terms as AZ InfraGard’s President, is presently on numerous
    s academic advisory boards, and chairs the Greater Phoenix Chamber's Cybersecurity Workforce Collaboration Effort. He is also a Phoenix Rotary 100 Member, and actively volunteers his time with several charitable organizations.

    John G. Iannarelli recently retired from the FBI after more than 20 years of service, during which he was a member of the SWAT Team and participated in the investigations of the Oklahoma City Bombing, the 9/11 attack, and the Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords shooting.  John previously served at FBI Headquarters as their national spokesperson and on the Cyber Division Executive staff.  In Phoenix, John was the Cyber squad supervisor before promotion to Assistant Special Agent in Charge, the number two position overseeing all Criminal, Cyber, and Counter Intelligence investigations throughout Arizona.  John has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Computer Science for his contributions to the field of cyber investigations.

    John is the author of several other books, to include Why Teens Fail and What to Fix, a parents’ guide to protecting their children from Internet predators and other dangers, and Information Governance Security, how businesses can protect their sensitive data from loss or compromise.  His recently released How to Stop A Terrorist, is a guide for the average person to recognize and help prevent terrorism. John is a highly sought after speaker and has presented to Fortune 500 companies, domestic and international audiences, the United Nations, and the Vatican where he met personally with Pope Francis to discuss the evolution of cyber crime.

    A former San Diego Police Officer and a graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law, to include studies of international criminal and civil law at Oxford, England, John is also an attorney admitted to the practice of law in California, Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is currently a private consultant, whose clients have included the both the FBI and a national professional sports league.

    Nilesh holds an MBA in International Business from W.P.     Matthew Rosenquist joined Intel Corp in 1996 and benefits from 28 diverse years in the fields of cyber, physical, and information security. Mr. Rosenquist specializes in security strategy, measuring value, developing best-practices for cost effective capabilities, and establishing organizations which deliver optimal levels of cybersecurity. As a cybersecurity strategist for the Intel, he identifies risks and opportunities to build organizations that balance risks, costs, and usability factors across hardware, firmware, software, artificial intelligence, and services. Mr. Rosenquist is active in the industry and consults on best-practices and emerging risks to academic, business, and government audiences around the globe. Mr. Rosenquist built and managed Intel’s first global 24x7 Security Operations Center, oversaw several internal platform security products and services, deployed the enterprise intrusion detection program, and was Intel’s first Incident Commander for worldwide IT emergency responses. He has conducted investigations and risk assessments in defense of corporate assets and managed the security playbook for Intel security features landing in the PC architecture. Mr. Rosenquist ran security for Intel’s multi-billion dollar mergers and acquisitions activities and quantitatively justified the improvement strategy protecting Intel’s global manufacturing capability. His development of the Threat Agent Risk Assessment (TARA) methodology to optimize security, has influenced how organizations view and prioritize risks.
