    Akkawi earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from National Louis University in Chicago, Illinois and holds a Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications Certification from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. He holds certifications in Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) Certified Information Security Manger (CISM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).     Before joining Lucent, Sal founded and served as President of DiFranco & Associates, a Chicago based full‐service boutique search firm that specialized in executive sales management and technology sales for Fortune 500 companies.

    Sal earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech and Mass Communications from Illinois State University and holds certifications in Negotiations from the University of Notre Dame. He is an active volunteer in the Chicago suburb where he resides.

    John Doucette is the VP of Consulting Operations at Magenic, with responsibility for consulting delivery and business growth throughout Magenic’s eight US regions. John helps clients overcome challenges they face in developing enterprise software solutions. With his broad industry, organizational and technology perspectives, the entrepreneurial-minded Doucette is a recognized expert in software development lifecycle management, with several national speaking credits and publications to his name.

    His career has focused on all aspects of delivering custom software to solve complex business problems with a focus on developing technology that is rewarding for the teams writing the code, as much as the customers using the products delivered. He launched his career as a Communications officer in the US Air Force handling several high profile projects involving the stealth fighter F-117 program in Nevada and developing statistical software to analyze secure streaming data captured by fighter jets in dogfights for Red Flag operations. He began his private sector career in Boston in 1990 as a Digital EDP Auditor for Coopers & Lybrand. He then continued with various software development roles in the New England area, and eventually co-authored a patent for scanning technology using EDI in the manufacturing and distribution industry. After some time as a Java developer at a startup company in Cambridge, MA, John found himself as a Development Manager at TJX Companies. His passion for SDLC and ALM drove significant improvements for the company, including early adoption of Agile and automated DevOps while supporting a large mainframe modernization program in Merchandising Systems.

    After joining Magenic in 2008 as a consultant in the Boston office, John transitioned to the national level in Minneapolis and took the leadership role as the first General Manager of the National Markets branch, building a business outside of established regions to over $50M in less than 4 years.

    John lives in Minneapolis, MN with his wife after raising his children in Boston for 22 years. When not working, John enjoys scuba diving, international travel, photography and golf.

  • Kevin Glynn

    Kevin is a managing principal at the Laminar Group, focusing on technology and supply chain related services.  More specifically, services to CIOs and Boards, especially IT strategy, digital transformation and innovation, as well as consulting services related to supply chain with a technology focus.  

    Mr. Kevin Glynn is a three time public and private company Chief Information Officer (CIO), including being recognized as the 2019 CIO Innovator of the Year in Chicago. Additionally, Kevin has been Chief Operating Officer (COO) in a technology startup and acting VP of Operations.  Kevin is an experienced internationalist, having lived 8 years in Europe and Latin America over his career.

    Mr. Glynn’s technology leadership includes shifting legacy systems to cloud based platforms, building big data capabilities, implementation of Agile techniques, early work in Artificial Intelligence, and the use of drones and moveable robots in a warehouse environment. He is frequently cited in publications and has authored a variety of supply chain, distribution, ethics and technology articles. 

    Over his career, and as an exception to the traditional CIO role, Mr. Glynn has led two separate company restructuring initiatives, and was the project lead and principle author of a complete company restructuring plan, including closing 5 facilities, and a 10% reduction in workforce, yielding $33 million in savings for a multi-billion dollar organization.  At a different company, he was a key executive in the restructuring of all operations and distributions. 

    As CIO, Mr. Glynn worked at DSC Logistics, AM Castle and Case New Holland.  While at AM Castle, in addition to his CIO responsibilities, he was acting VP of Operations.  Prior to being CIO, Kevin was COO of Iron Solutions, a startup company using data analytics in agriculture.  Previously, he has been a Vice President for Oracle Corporation, leading its consulting practices in Europe.   Kevin started his career as an engineer, working at Carlise Memory Products and also Qualcomm. 

    Mr. Glynn currently serves as Chair of the Advisory Board for Northwestern University’s MS IT program.  He is a former Chair of the Environment Board for the City of Evanston.  He has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University and a Master of International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

    Ron Guerrier serves as the Global Chief Information Officer for HP Inc. This role is responsible for further building out a world-class IT organization, to deliver and enable the highest levels of productivity for over 70,000 employees, contractors and partners around the globe. Responsible for developing and overseeing a comprehensive approach to digitization across HP Inc., while delivering an unrelenting focus on process automation and continuous process improvement while ensuring a positive end-user experience. 

    Guerrier has more than 25 years of experience managing technology in the both the public and private sector across various industries. Most recently, he served as the CIO and Secretary of Innovation & Technology for the State of Illinois, held the position of CIO at Express Scripts, the nation's largest pharmacy benefit manager, and functioned in the same role at Farmers Insurance Group from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, Guerrier spent 19 years at Toyota North America, rising to vice president and chief information officer for the Financial Services division. 

    Guerrier earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from the University of Illinois at UrbanaChampaign, and a master’s degree in operations management and supervision from North Park University. In addition, he has earned a certificate in IT management from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an executive certificate in developing organizational innovation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology – Sloan School of Management, a certificate in innovation from the University of California, Berkeley; and a certificate in IT performance management from Boston University Questrom School of Business.  

    Guerrier serves as the Chairman Emeritus of the Board for Innovate @UCLA and is the Executive Adviser for STEM Advantage, a non-profit organization that opens doors for young women and underserved communities to pursue their dreams of a career in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Guerrier sits on the Board of Directors of SBP (SBPUSA.org), an organization which assists with the rebuilding of homes and restoring lives after natural disasters.   
    Throughout his career, Guerrier has earned numerous honors and awards, including the 2019 & 2020 Crane’s Top50 Award, 2019 & 2020 Top Technology Executive to Watch from HMG Strategy, Gartner’s 2018 CIO Breakaway Leader of the Year, 2018 CIO Digital Edge50 Award, LA Business Journal’s CIO Lifetime Achievement Award, 3x CIO100 Award recipient, 2020 Orbie Chicago CIO of the Year, 2020 StateScoop State Executive of the Year, and was included in the Black Enterprise Most Powerful Executives in Corporate America List in 2018.     John is the Chief Technology Officer at Enova International, a large publicly-traded FinTech company based in Chicago. At Enova, John is responsible for driving the company’s technology and product strategy to leverage advanced digital experiences and data science to deliver on its mission to help hard-working people access fast, trustworthy credit. 

    In addition to his work at Enova, John is a member of the board of directors for the Illinois Technology Association, and a member, investor, and advisor with Hyde Park Angels. He also serves an adjunct professor at Lewis University teaching MBA courses on technology and entrepreneurship. 

    Prior to Enova, John served as the CTO for FTD Companies, Wheels, and Applied Systems. Flowers, cars, insurance, and now money — proof that technology powers every facet of our lives.

    John holds a B.A. from Northern Illinois University and M.S. in IT and Privacy Law, with honors from The John Marshall Law School and is a frequent writer and speaker on diversity, technology, and leadership.

    Dan spends a great deal of time implementing systems that help his firm’s employees securely collaborate, innovate, and work efficiently across different geographies. Combining hands-on experience in software engineering, new product development, security and cloud engineering, the protection of intellectual property, firm assets, and client information is incorporated into all his initiatives.

    He has held the CIO and other senior leadership positions across many industries including pharma, healthcare payer and provider analytics firms, Fortune 500 media and entertainment companies, and Internet and Marketing leaders. 

    He holds an MSMIT Master of Science degree from the University of Virginia, a Bachelor of Information Systems from Pace University, and was an MSMIT Advisory Board Member at University of Virginia for many years.

    Dan is a native New Yorker who currently resides in Chicago with his wife Catherine.  He enjoys spending quality time with his four grown children who are busy pursuing careers in all different parts of the US.

  • Cathie Kozik

    Cathie Kozik joined PSAV in January 2015 as Chief Information Officer. A seasoned leader, she is responsible for ensuring PSAV has the information solutions needed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency in delivering services to its customers around the globe. 

    Prior to joining PSAV, Kozik was the Executive Vice President and CIO for the Hub Group, a $3B transportation company. She was focused on reinvigorating the information technology team to deliver high-quality, on-time programs with strategic and secure use of cloud service offerings and other current technologies, processes and approaches.

    Prior to the Hub Group, Kozik spent 10 years at Motorola, Inc., where she held roles in customer service and information technology. In addition to leading IT for key divisions, she led the information technology separation of the company as it split into two publicly traded companies in 2010. Prior to Motorola, she worked for Tellabs in engineering and information technology, serving as its first CIO, as well as for AT&T in engineering.

    Kozik earned her bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University and her master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago. She has earned several industry-related honors, including being named a Purdue Distinguished Engineer and to the CIO Hall of Fame.

    Outside of PSAV, she serves on the board of Northwestern Medicine Health Care, one of the nation’s top healthcare providers, as well as the board for Lumity, a non-profit focused on ensuring that every student has access to STEM career readiness throughout high school. In her free time, she enjoys kayaking, biking, and spending time with her husband of 35 years, Jack, and her kids, Mike and Liz.

    Quintin McGrath is a passionate leader, a global team builder, and an energetic champion for change. He joined Deloitte 20+ years ago as the first South Africa CIO. In 2001, he moved with Deloitte to the US as a key member of the Global CIO’s leadership team. He continues to serve on Deloitte’s Global Technology Executive team.

    Over his career, Quintin has led various global technology programs and provided leadership through many critical technology transformations. He spent 8 years leading the Global Application Development team. In 2015, he initiated the transition of Deloitte to becoming a shared services-based organization and now leads a global group that covers a range of IT disciplines to provide frameworks, tools, and capabilities to enable a more agile and responsive global IT team. This includes the global Enterprise Architecture, Innovation, Quality and Certifications, Services Standards and Catalog, Project Management Office, and Change Management pillars.

    Quintin is an Electronic Engineer by profession, holding an MS Degree in Engineering from the University of Cape Town. He also has a Business Leadership MBA from the University of South Africa and a MA from Wheaton College in Chicago. As a proponent of life-long learning, he is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of South Florida with a focus on ethics and AI.

    Along with his determination for personal growth, he is dedicated to developing the people around him, and especially the next generation of millennial leaders. He enjoys photography, spending time with his family, especially his three grandchildren who affectionately call him GQ (for Grandad Quintin), and is an environmental sustainability enthusiast. He participates in NACD director education events and other venues speaking about IT & Cyber Security. Mr. Modruson is a board member of the Lyric Opera of Chicago, The Patrick G. and Shirley W.     John Phillips is an information technology executive with over 30 years of professional experience at publicly traded and privately held companies. His accountabilities and expertise include information systems strategy, daily operations, and organizational alignment. In addition to being the Chief Information Officer, John also holds executive accountability for the enterprise supply chain including inventory planning, inventory procurement, inventory deployment, distribution, warehouse management, general facilities management and inbound / outbound logistics. Prior accountabilities at Briggs Healthcare have included Customer Service, Quality Control, and Regulatory Affairs where John guided the enterprise through its first ISO 13485 certification.

    John is currently serving as the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Briggs Healthcare and its subsidiaries (Briggs Corporation, DMS Holdings, Briggs Medical Supply Company, Mabis Healthcare, Duromed Industries, and OmniMed). Previous positions include the CIO of Uline in Waukegan, Illinois, the Corporate Director (CIO) of Information Technology & Services at Trinity Industries in Dallas, Texas, the CIO of a US Freightway’s reverse logistics subsidiary in Dallas, Texas, the Director (CIO) of Management Information Systems for PrimeSource Building Products in Carrollton, Texas, and progression through several levels of management at Frito-Lay and Texas Instruments.

    John has a Master of Arts degree in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Dallas. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Psychology.

    John is active in several professional societies and organizations, and is a Trustee Board member for the Chicago Chapter of the Society for Information Management (SIM), and held similar Board positions for the Dallas-Fort Worth SIM Chapter.

    John has published articles in Handheld PC Magazine and Internet Week, and has been a guest speaker at many industry events including the Micro Focus International Users Conference, Burton Group’s Catalyst Conference, and Gartner’s regional client briefings.
