    WD-40 Company

    Dan has served on the board of directors for WD-40 Company (Nasdaq:WDFC) since early-2016, and he is Chairman of its Audit Committee. He also provides advisory services to Chosen Foods LLC, a rapidly-growing distributor of avocado oil and related products, and serves in its board of directors. Dan has been recognized as an NACD Board Leadership Fellow since June 2018 and received Harvard’s Corporate Board Certificate in July 2019.

    Dan retired as Chief Financial Officer of BevMo! Inc. (Beverages & More!) in June 2016 after positioning this private-equity owned company into a strong pre-IPO candidate. Immediately before joining BevMo!, Dan served as CFO of Semtek, a venture-backed developer of retailer encryption solutions providing protection against payment card data breaches.

    His retail career began in 1986 when he joined publicly-traded Price Club (Nasdaq:PCLB), originators of the membership warehouse club, and served as Senior Vice President. Shortly after the 1993 merger with Costco (Nasdaq:COST), Dan was CFO for Price Enterprises, a new publicly-traded spin-off from Costco, which had significant real estate holdings and was the originator of PriceSmart (Nasdaq:PSMT).

    A year after joining fast-fashion retailer Charlotte Russe (Nasdaq:CHIC) as CFO in 1998, he took it public and subsequently participated in four secondary offerings on behalf of its private-equity owner.

    He earned his accounting degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1979 and earned his CPA certification (currently, inactive) while working at Ernst & Young through 1982.

    Dan’s community involvement in San Diego includes 12 years as Trustee for Rady's Children’s Hospital Foundation, three years as Member of Rady’s Children’s Hospital Audit Committee, three years as Chair of Rady’s Corporate & Community Development Committee, seven years as Board member of San Diego Financial Executives International (FEI) chapter, and 6 years as Member of St. Gregory the Great Pastoral Council.

  • John Caruthers
    Director of Cybersecurity

    John Caruthers has been with the FBI since 1992, when he was hired in Washington, D.C. as an ITS. He became an FBI Agent in 1999. During his time in the FBI, John has supported the White Water investigation in LR, AK; investigated the Arellano-Felix Mexican drug cartel; served as San Diego’s Innocent Images coordinator; completed 2 assignments to FBI Headquarters’ Cyber Division; served as the FBI’s primary ICS/SCADA Threat Coordinator; and served overseas in Russia, Ukraine and The Netherlands. SSA Caruthers is currently serving as Supervisory Special Agent of the San Diego Division’s National Security Cyber Squad.

    Glenn Coles is a change-oriented executive in leadership for all aspects of Information Technology. He completed studies in Computer Science and Information Technology at University of California, Irvine and National Education College in Anaheim, California. His demonstrated, well rounded experience and proven successes span over three decades in business. He has extensive experience and a career focus in Business transformation through IT, partnerships, leading practices and emerging technologies. As an acknowledgement of Glenn’s contributions and successes in his profession, he was chosen for Computerworld's Premier 100 Technology Leaders Award in 2016.

    In his current position of over twelve years, Glenn is the General Manager and CIO for Yamaha Motor Corporation, North America. Starting his career in highly technical positions, Glenn advanced into several IT Leadership positions in Automotive, Healthcare, Technology Start Up, Aerospace, Manufacturing and Service industries. He is an active speaker and holds a seat on several CIO/Executive counsels and advisory boards including the CIO Roundtable at University of California, Irvine, The Paul Merage School of Business, Center for Digital Transformation. Glenn currently resides in Orange County, California.

    Chris Colwell is the Customer Success Director for the US West region and has been with UiPath since early 2019. Prior to joining UiPath, Chris was at Capital Group (American Funds) for 13 years working primarily on large technology initiatives playing roles in business systems analysis, project management, and business architecture. Over the last 2 years at Capital Group, Chris built and ran an Intelligent Automation CoE where he worked to scale RPA for the enterprise. Chris holds a B.S. in Information and Computer Science from UC Irvine, an MBA from Pepperdine University, and is PMP certified.

    Chris Convey has extensive leadership experience in information and technology risk, cyber security, IT operations and cloud technologies.  Before his current role at Sharp as VP and CISO, he was CIO and CISO at Millennium Health where he led governance, development, operations and security of all company systems.  Prior to Millennium Health, Chris was the enterprise HIPAA Security Program leader at Kaiser Permanente, where he launched and led the strategic plan to improve organizational compliance with the HIPAA Security Rule and other regulations.  Prior to that Chris was Director, Technology Risk and Security Consulting at PwC, where he advised Fortune 500 companies in all aspects of business and technology improvement.

  • Colonel Pete Dillon

    Colonel Pete Dillon is the Former Assistant Chief of Staff, G6, I Marine Expeditionary Force. He graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1991 and was commissioned via the NROTC program.  He was assigned as a communications officer at the completion of The Basic School and subsequently reported to the Basic Communications Officer Course.

    In 1992, he reported to 7th Communications Battalion in Okinawa, Japan where he served as the multi-channel platoon commander, Alpha Company.  He reported to the USS Tarawa (LHA-1) in 1993 and assumed duties as the Officer in Charge, Marine Communications Detachment. During this tour he was temporarily assigned as the S6 Alpha, 15thMarine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable).

    He reported to the 1st Marine Division in 1995 and served tours as: S6, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion; Operations Officer, Communications Company, Headquarters Battalion; S6, 5th Marine Regiment.

    In 1998 he transferred to Quantico and attended the Command and Control Systems Course where he graduated as an honor student.  He was assigned to Marine Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC) in 1999 and assumed responsibilities as the Assistant Operations Officer, Central Command Desk, G6.

    In 2002 he deployed to Bahrain as the G6 Operations Officer, Marine Forces Central Command (MARCENT) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  In the summer of 2002 he transferred to Amphibious Group Three, headquartered in San Diego, California where he served as the Officer in Charge, Marine Communications Detachment.

    In 2003 he deployed to Bahrain in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  He served as the Task Force 51 (Amphibious Task Force) communications liaison officer to 5th Fleet (Combined Forces Maritime Component Commander).

    In 2004 he moved to Tokyo, Japan and assumed duties in the J6 of U.S. Forces Japan, headquartered at Yokota Air Base.  He concluded his tour in 2007 as the branch chief of J62, Operations, Exercises and Plans.  In July 2007 he was directed to report to 1st Marine Aircraft Wing in Okinawa, Japan as the Assistant Chief of Staff, G6.  He served in that capacity for three years.

    In July, 2010 he assumed command of Region 1, Marine Corps Embassy Security Group, responsible for seventeen Marine Security Guard detachments throughout Eastern Europe and Eurasia. He was selected for top level school commencing in 2012 and subsequently served as the Commandant of the Marine Corps’ fellow to the Atlantic Council for 2012-2013. 

    In July 2013 he was assigned to Headquarters Marine Corps, C4 Directorate.  He served as the strategic planning division chief (CS Division) for two years with oversight of all deployable communications systems employed across the Corps.

  • Karen Gibson

    Karen Gibson joined Quidel in April, 2015 as the VP of Information Services.   Quidel creates rapid diagnostic tools for the clinical setting.   In this role,  she is focused on streamlining operations and using information and technology to enable new market opportunities.  

    A recognized industry leader,  Karen is passionate about using information technology to improve healthcare and has had roles throughout the life sciences space.    

    Formerly the CIO for McKesson’s Specialty Health division,  Karen’s team provided all IT services for an integrated network of over 500 community-based oncology clinics, specialty pharmacies, and diagnostic laboratories.   Prior to McKesson,  Karen was the first CIO for Life Technologies,  a global life sciences company providing scientific tools for research and drug discovery.   During her tenure, her team successfully implemented a global transformation strategy that included an industry recognized e-commerce system that “consumerized” the purchase of scientific research products.     Before Life Technologies, Karen was the CIO and e-business leader of GE Medical Systems IT – a business that delivered hardware and software solutions to healthcare providers around the world. She ran the IT organization,  as well as a services team providing cloud-based radiology image storage.     Karen has also held leadership roles within other GE divisions and Ethicon Endo-Surgery (a Johnson & Johnson company).

    Karen holds a B.S. in Computer Technology from Purdue University, as well as an M.B.A. from Ohio University.

    Meloney Graham is responsible for the delivery and management of all Oracle EBS, Oracle Retail, Hyperion & Agile support services for Rimini Street clients. She leads a global team of technical and cross-functional experts who provide expert solutions to meet customer’s needs. As a CPA and having worked in the consulting and IT fields for many years, Ms. Graham brings with her a keen understanding of the clients support needs and their financial goals.

    Ms. Graham's career spans nearly 30 years of IT experience including 5 years in financial management, 15 years in consulting and 11 years leading large global IT organizations. Prior to joining Rimini Street, Ms. Graham was responsible for a large global rollout of Oracle EBS and Oracle technology to 56 countries around the world. She moved on to building and running global application support teams as well as vendor management for a major international chemical manufacturer.

    Ms. Graham holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from The University of Texas at Dallas, an Executive MBA from Texas A&M University Commerce and is a Certified Public Accountant.

    Seasoned IT professional with over twenty years of experience within a diverse range of industries including healthcare, media and non-profits. Henderson has a proven track record of success in strategic planning, technology development, cybersecurity, and product commercialization.

    In his role as CIO for leading Life Sciences company, Millennium Health located within San Diego’s biotech hub, Henderson recently oversaw the successful development and implementation of an intuitive online drug test ordering platform that will transform the way clinicians improve patient care and ensure compliance. This innovative new technology leverages over 10 years of laboratory excellence proprietary data intelligence and clinical expertise to offer comprehensive insight to benefit patients, payers and customers nationwide.

    Henderson has a demonstrated history of affecting broad-scale transformation across complex organizations, resulting in increased strategic advantages while reducing expenses. Previously, Henderson was the chief information officer at GenomeDx Biosciences where he led the digital transformation of the company’s business processes. Prior to that, he was the chief information officer at Sequenom Inc., where he was part of the executive team that commercialized their ground breaking non-invasive prenatal diagnostic test. He also held leadership roles CBS Corporation and Paramount Pictures Corporation, supporting world wide global IT operations as well as several mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

    Henderson is a member of the San Diego State University Fowler College of Business, Management Information Systems Advisory Board and of DocuSign’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Advisory Board. He was also a past winner of the San Diego Business Journal’s Top Tech Awards, 2015 Small Public Company Category.

    Craig Johnson has served on the board of directors for seven biotech companies in total, six public and one private.  He currently serves on the board of Mirati Therapeutics, Heron Therapeutics, Odonate Therapeutics, and La Jolla Pharmaceuticals, and he previously served on the board of Ardea Biosciences, Adamis Pharmaceuticals and GenomeDx Biosciences.  Prior to his board activities, Craig was CFO for a number of biotech companies.  Earlier in his career, he practiced as a CPA with Price Waterhouse in Detroit and San Diego, and he received a B.B.A. degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

    Tony Leng is a Managing Director of Diversified Search and leads the firm’s Digital Transformation and CIO practice from its San Francisco office.  Previously, Tony was Managing Partner of Hodge Partners. Before that, Tony ran a $1 billion division of a telephone company focused on corporate users and had responsibility for all data services and networking products. While at the telephone company, he was founder and Chairman of its ISP and a board member of its 2 million-subscriber cell phone subsidiary. 

    Tony uses his operating experience from being a CEO, financial background as a CPA and CA, and technical knowledge from the work that he has done for Tech companies to drill down and understand at a nuanced level what his clients are seeking to achieve as they build their teams. He has written numerous papers on technology leadership and the challenges facing technology leaders today and authors a blog, ‘Resources for the Modern CIO” (

    The core of Tony’s consulting has been with senior leaders who are seeking to transform their organizations as they face a future of rapid change, digitization, regulation, shifting markets, and increasingly connected and informed customers.

    Drew Martin has been Vice President and Chief Information Officer since November 2016. He was previously Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Lytx Inc. (formerly DriveCam) from October 2011 to December 2014. He previously held IT leadership positions with Sony Electronics and PepsiCo, and from January 2015 until November 2016, was owner and a principal in Silicon Beach Advisors, a technology strategy consulting firm. Drew has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Cornell University and serves on several advisory boards, including the Information Technology Advisory Board for Sharp Healthcare and the Classroom of the Future Foundation. He has over 25 years of experience in corporate IT and innovation.

    As a seasoned expatriate with over 20 years’ international experience in finding business synergies, Ben has lived in 7 countries and brings a diverse mix of cultural and business experience. He excels in driving collaboration for breakthrough performance of turnarounds and startups within Software and IT Services multinational corporations. Prior to Lenovo, Ben held several executive roles in sales, strategy and business transformation with Dell EMC. 

    Ben holds an MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Sydney, Australia, and a Bachelor’s degree from Massey University in his hometown of Auckland, New Zealand. In his free time, he is working to obtain his pilot’s license. He speaks basic Chinese, and currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina, with his wife and daughter.

    Erez Nir is the Chief Technology Officer of Mitchell International. In his role Erez oversees corporate IT functions (engineering, operations, business systems, and support services) as well as Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Reporting, and IT Enterprise Services across Mitchell's three primary business units—Auto Physical Damage, Auto Casualty Solutions and Workers' Compensation Solutions.

    Erez previously served as Mitchell's Senior Vice President of Technology. In this role he defined Mitchell's technology vision and underlying roadmap to meet the challenges of the company's customers and its business partners.

    Before joining Mitchell, Erez served as Vice President of Product Management and Marketing of Mobilitec Inc., and Vice President of Information Engineering for San Diego-based Wingcast, a Ford and Qualcomm joint venture. Early in his career he worked at Motorola™ and  Nice™ Systems Ltd. in a variety of engineering, operations, and general management positions. Erez holds a BSc in Computer Science from the Technion, Israel's Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

    George Sheth is Managing Partner of Diligent Partners, LLC, a retained executive search firm he co-founded in 2009.  Previously, he was Executive Director and Healthcare Practice Leader at another retained executive search firm based in Southern California.  Prior to that, George was a Strategy Consulting Principal focused on health plan IT strategy consulting within Kaiser Permanente's Information Technology division.  Prior to Kaiser Permanente, Mr. Sheth held executive management roles in the national healthcare consulting practices of Capgemini (now Accenture) and IBM / PricewaterhouseCoopers.  He started his career in operational management roles at Health Net and Maxicare Health Plans in the 1980s.  Besides retained executive search, his areas of expertise include executive coaching, board governance, strategic business planning, business process redesign, new venture and product development, program/project management, and the application of technology to grow businesses and solve strategic and operational issues.

    As a volunteer leader many times over, Mr. Sheth currently serves as Member Relations Board Advisor for the Southern California Chapter of Society for Information Management (, the premier not-for-profit organization of information technology experts, including CIOs, CTOs and emerging IT leaders.     During his 22 years with QUALCOMM, Rich Sulpizio was a key part of QUALCOMM’s executive team, helping guide the Company through periods of rapid growth and change.

    Rich was hired as VP Information Systems in May 1991. During the early 1990s, Sulpizio’s extensive experience across operational lines was utilized as he assumed leadership of many departments at QUALCOMM, including Information Systems, Human Resources, Administration and Manufacturing.  In 1992, Sulpizio assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer to concentrate on the internal performance of the various line departments and the business units.

    In January 1994, Dr. Jacobs asked Rich to accept the position of President of OmniTRACS, where he led the development and manufacturing of fleet communication solutions and products. After hiring his replacement, Sulpizio resumed the role of COO in 1995 to focus on supporting the rapid expansion of manufacturing capacity, the formation of the new CDMA ASIC Products Business unit, and the continuing market expansion and fiscal performance of the OmniTRACS Division. In his role as COO, Sulpizio led the divisionalization of the engineering organization to strengthen product alignment and improve communications, efficiencies, and profit. 

    In 1996, Sulpizio was named President of the JV with Sony and played a decisive role in the inception and leadership of the QUALCOMM Personal Electronics (QPE) division. That JV was instrumental in getting volume handsets to the growing CDMA market.

    July 1998, Sulpizio was named President and COO of QUALCOMM.

    In 2000, Sulpizio was added to the Board of Directors and identified as the future Chief Executive Officer of Spinco, QUALCOMM’s planned integrated circuits and system software business (QUALCOMM CDMA Technologies). As market conditions evolved, the planned spinoff didn’t happen and Rich resumed his position as President and COO of Qualcomm until his retirement in August 2001.

    8 months after his retirement, Sulpizio was asked to help with QUALCOMM’s International operations. In his role as Interim president of QUALCOMM China and then Europe, Sulpizio provided strategic and timely direction for these critical operations. While in these roles, he recruited and hired senior executives to successfully lead QUALCOMM’s future efforts in China and Europe.

    In March of 2005, Rich was asked to return to a full time position as President and CEO of MediaFLO, USA, Inc, a QUALCOMM’s subsidiary. This new venture was chartered with bringing multimedia services to the wireless industry. Rich grew the organization, hired his replacement and re retired in December 2005.

    In January 2009, Rich came back to run the Omnitracs Division and was instrumental in its sale to a Private Equity firm in 2013.
