    Bryce Austin is a leading voice on communication techniques with executive leadership on technology and cybersecurity issues. With over 10 years of experience as a CIO and CISO, Bryce has influenced the boards of companies in industries as diverse as financial services, retail, healthcare, technology and manufacturing industries. He founded TCE Strategy, which specializes in strategic consulting on technology and cybersecurity.

    Bryce holds a CISM certification and is known as a thought leader, cybersecurity expert and nationally-recognized public speaker. He started his technology career on a Commodore PET computer and a cassette tape drive. Bryce is known for creating business value from technology opportunities, implementing technology security that promotes a positive end-user experience, and wearing t-shirts with clever jokes so obscure that they are often humorous only to himself.

    Bryce received a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Illinois. He, his wife and two young sons live in Lakeville, MN.

    Fun fact: Bryce is a weekend high-speed track driver and coach at venues across the USA. He has over 15 years of experience, and has driven cars as diverse as an 85 horsepower Saturn to a 650 horsepower Porsche 911 Turbo. He has had over 100 students, none of whom have died while under his instruction.

  • Robin Brown

    Robin is the CIO for the Cargill North America Protein Group.  She has 24 years of IT experience in the agriculture, construction, healthcare, government, consulting, retail and financial sectors. Prior to Cargill, she was the VP & CIO at Mortenson Construction and held other senior leadership roles at UnitedHealth Group, Accenture, Best Buy, and Arcadia Financial.  She is known for driving technology-enabled innovation, strategic business transformation, building global shared service capabilities, and transforming IT functions to be value-driven while fostering relationships between the Business, Operations and IT delivery. 

    Robin is recognized as a transformational leader in the industry.  She is as a cultural change agent and has a reputation for stepping into very chaotic situations, assessing the landscape quickly, identifying gaps and creating a vision and strategy to move the business forward. Robin has a reputation for building and mentoring strong leadership teams that are based on a change agent philosophy and high expectations of accountability. Focusing on the culture and team member engagement is important to her. Robin’s passion is mentoring leaders and team members that have high potential.

    She is active in the community and holds several Board of Director roles.  She is part of the Think IT Board of Advisors and the Governing Body for the Minneapolis HMG CIO Executive Leadership Summit.  She’s also on the Board of Directors for EMPOWER Leadership Academy for Girls, WLiT (Women Leaders in Technology), and New Market Bank.  Robin co-leads the Think IT Women in Leadership forums and was also the President and Founding Board Member of the West Lakes Chapter of National Charity League, focusing on mothers and daughters volunteering together.

    Robin has twin daughters in their second year of college.  She travels quite a bit with her “empty nest” friends and enjoys bootcamp classes, running, volunteering, indulging in fabulous wine around her fire pit, spoiling her little niece and nephews, and riding her Harley.

    Jamey Cummings is a Senior Client Partner in Korn Ferry’s Global Technology Practice. He co-lead’s the Firm’s Global Cybersecurity Practice and is also a member of the Firm’s Information Officers Practice.

    Mr. Cummings is a recognized leader in advising organizations on the recruitment, assessment, development, and retention of information technology as well as information security & risk management talent at all levels, including the Board of Directors. His clients range from large global corporations to high growth entrepreneurial companies, spanning all industries. In addition to Chief Information Officers, Chief Information Security Officers, and their key leaders, he also recruits cybersecurity consultants for leading professional services firms as well as top executives for cybersecurity technology companies and managed security services providers. He is based in the Firm’s Dallas office.

    Prior to Korn Ferry, Mr. Cummings served as an associate principal in the industrial, supply chain, and transportation & logistics practices of another leading executive search firm, where he executed senior executive search assignments for both public and private equity-backed companies. He also served clients in the consumer & retail, technology, government & defense, biotechnology, and education sectors.

    Prior to his career in executive search, Mr. Cummings was a consultant with The Boston Consulting Group in Dallas, where he worked on a wide variety of projects with clients in the aerospace & defense, consumer finance, telecommunications, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and education industries.
    Earlier in his career, he served nine years with distinction as an officer in the U.S. Navy's SEAL teams.

    He earned a master’s degree in business administration from Stanford University, and graduated with merit with a bachelor of science in aeronautical engineering from The United States Naval Academy.

Previously Rahoul was VP of Business Integration for Best Buy’s global shared services, VP Corporate IT Services for Cargill, and CIO for Cargill’s Animal Protein businesses. Rahoul’s earlier career was with Honeywell Inc where he spent over 18 years in various leadership positions, in IT as well as in Manufacturing Operations, Audit, and Marketing.

    Rahoul has been an invited speaker to China’s National Software Symposium at Chengdu. He also serves on the Board of the MacPhail center for Music in Minnesota. Rahoul holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the University of Minnesota.

    John G. Iannarelli recently retired from the FBI after more than 20 years of service, during which he was a member of the SWAT Team and participated in the investigations of the Oklahoma City Bombing, the 9/11 attack, and the Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords shooting.  John previously served at FBI Headquarters as their national spokesperson and on the Cyber Division Executive staff.  In Phoenix, John was the Cyber squad supervisor before promotion to Assistant Special Agent in Charge, the number two position overseeing all Criminal, Cyber, and Counter Intelligence investigations throughout Arizona.  John has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Computer Science for his contributions to the field of cyber investigations.

    John is the author of several other books, to include Why Teens Fail and What to Fix, a parents’ guide to protecting their children from Internet predators and other dangers, and Information Governance Security, how businesses can protect their sensitive data from loss or compromise.  His recently released How to Stop A Terrorist, is a guide for the average person to recognize and help prevent terrorism. John is a highly sought after speaker and has presented to Fortune 500 companies, domestic and international audiences, the United Nations, and the Vatican where he met personally with Pope Francis to discuss the evolution of cyber crime.

    A former San Diego Police Officer and a graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law, to include studies of international criminal and civil law at Oxford, England, John is also an attorney admitted to the practice of law in California, Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is currently a private consultant, whose clients have included the both the FBI and a national professional sports league.

  • Patrick Joyce

    Patrick Joyce is Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Medtronic. In this role, he is responsible for global functions, strategies, operations and execution related to security and privacy across the company, including IT/cybersecurity, physical/facility and travel security, identity & access management (IAM), product/device security programs and data privacy. Within Global IT, he is also responsible for several global functions supporting Master Data Management, IT Quality Management and Legal/Compliance.
    Patrick joined Medtronic in 2005 to initially build the Corporate IT Audit function, providing audit and consulting services across Medtronic’s global business units, corporate functions and IT organizations. In subsequent roles, he has had responsibility for leading Medtronic’s Global IT Program & Portfolio Management Office, as well as many of the IT Core Process and Applications Teams. Prior to joining Medtronic, Patrick has held roles in both the public and private sector, serving in IT leadership positions at Carlson Companies, United Healthcare, Methodist Hospital/Park Nicollet Medical Center and several IT consulting and managed services firms. Earlier in his career, Patrick served as a U.S. Air Force Intelligence Officer with assignments both domestically and overseas. Patrick obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and graduate degree from Troy University. He is active in community and international service through Rotary International and also serves on several local non-profit and professional association boards, including the Minnesota High Tech Association, and the North Star Youth Exchange Foundation.

    Mr. Knutson has a passion for ensuring that technology works for his clients - strategically, tactically, and operationally. He brings over 25 years of business/ technology leadership experience helping firms such as American Express Financial Advisors, BestBuy, Federated Department Stores, and Thomson Reuters successfully transform their businesses through the appropriate application of technology. He holds a Masters in Management Information Systems from the University of Minnesota and has held Sr IT Leadership and Advisory positions since the 90’s. His forte is making technology an integral part of business strategy – particularly where it improves the customer experience and deepens the understanding of client’s needs. In his previous role with Allergan IT, Sean has successfully directed integration and divestiture activities for 40+ acquisitions and divestitures since 2010. His know-how enabled the business to rapidly scale, setting the stage for Allergan’s record growth. With Sean’s unparalleled expertise in highly-efficient integration, Allergan IT has captured over $300 million in cost savings by realizing synergies and strategically restructuring during the mergers and acquisitions process. With an eye on aligning the company’s IT strategy and business strategy, Sean spearheads all aspects of technology vision, product development, and digital delivery of customer-oriented technology services, guiding more than 20,000 Allergan associates around the world. 

    Prior to joining Watson Pharmaceuticals, now Allergan, Sean served as Vice President of Global Infrastructure Services at Novartis Pharmaceuticals, one of the largest healthcare companies globally. At Novartis, he consolidated client services to their highest satisfaction ratings and reduced budget by $100 million. In 2002, Sean was recruited by pharmaceutical services company C3i to fix its struggling business, a turnaround that he resourcefully executed in less than 60 days as Senior Vice President and General Manager. Sean found his start in the industry with Schering Plough Pharmaceuticals. In 1996, he characteristically rolled up his sleeves to convert Schering Plough’s Managed Care and Health Management group from an entity not delivering value, to a top team in the business with the highest IT satisfaction. Sean initially proved his worth to the company as a consultant in 1994, when he designed and developed the first Third-Party Data Warehouse system in the industry, enabling Schering Plough to deploy its field sales organizations up to 10 days faster than the competition and at a reduced cost.  

    Sean is in the highest echelon of experience for managing large technical organizations and leading the development and implementation of business-driven digital IT programs.  He also has extensive operational and financial experience, overseeing all IT Financial Planning and Analysis, leading IT business plan development, financial forecasting, financial analysis, and capital commitment planning, as well as competitive analysis and benchmarking.  Sean possesses strong communication acumen, skilled at delivering technology-oriented messages to nontechnology-oriented people. He has succeeded in breaking down the walls between IT and other business units positioning IT as a key strategic partner. Sean is consistently recognized as a top performer in both measurable results and organization-shaping behaviors.     As senior vice president, chief information officer at Prime Therapeutics, Matt Pammer is accountable for the strategic direction and operational performance of Prime’s IT systems and infrastructure.

    Pammer joined Prime in 2018, bringing more than 30 years’ experience in IT leadership and innovation. His experience blending IT with marketing and client engagement is driving the development of new tools and processes to provide right-place, right-time, actionable information that enables informed decision-making among all stakeholders.

    Prior to Prime, Pammer spent 24 years with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, where he held a variety of IT leadership positions, including vice president, global commercial information technology, marketing information systems, IT architecture and client engagement. Earlier, he managed cross-functional projects at Accenture.

    Pammer earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, and a Master of Business Administration from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

    Tyrone (Ty) Spratt, Chief Business Technology Officer (CBTO) with MNIT Services at MDA, BAH and DLI, has 20 years of government experience holding various business and IT positions within DHS, DNR and MNIT. Ty has also had stops in city and county government and private sector experience with UnitedHealthCare. Known for his collection of colorful ties and irrepressible laugh, Ty has been part of many large IT endeavors including SWIFT and IT consolidation and the current modernization of the state’s Workers’ Comp application. Ty earned his undergrad and MBA from Metropolitan State University and is a certified project manager (PMP). Active in his community as basketball coach for Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association, Ty lives in Coon Rapids with his wife Betsy and two sons Isaac (15) and Samuel (13).

    Tony Taylor has held multiple infrastructure and security related roles throughout his career and is currently the CISO for Land O’Lakes, Inc. Under Taylor’s direction the IT infrastructure and security functions have transformed from a business unit environment to an enterprise shared service, serving all divisions of Land O’Lakes.

    Taylor joined Land O’Lakes in 1999, through the Terra Industries acquisition and has extensive experience serving Enterprise Organizations infrastructure, security, and platform solutions while building strong partnerships with key business executives.  Taylor has held multiple IT Leadership positions since joining Land O’Lakes and participates on the IT Leadership team, reporting directly to the CTO.

    Prior to his career at Land O’Lakes, Taylor held IT management positions at Terra Industries and MidAmerican Energy.  Taylor has worked in the IT industry for 30 years, the last 23 in various management roles establishing technology directions.

    Tarek Tomes serves as the Commissioner of Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) and the State of Minnesota’s Chief Information Officer (CIO), leading state efforts to provide the best possible IT solutions and customer service to the people of Minnesota and our business partners.

    As a recognized industry leader, Tomes brings over 25 years of experience in managing technology innovation across diverse industries, both in national, international, and public and private sector operations. Throughout his career, he has facilitated data-driven decision making, implemented many critical enterprise projects, and improved workforce diversity and inclusion.

    Before becoming Commissioner, Tomes served as the Chief Innovation Officer and former Chief Information Officer at the City of St. Paul, where he was responsible for managing ongoing process improvements, supporting human-centered design, and increasing the overall effectiveness of city services and resources. While in St. Paul, Tomes facilitated a digital transformation at the city level, pioneering the use of mobile applications to improve resident opportunities. This work allowed the city to leverage deep data insights while promoting and supporting equitable service delivery. During his time as St. Paul’s Chief Information Officer, Tomes oversaw the launch of St. Paul’s Open Information Portal, which serves to promote and encourage innovative uses of data and transparency in government services.

    Tomes’ prior work experience also includes six years as an Assistant Commissioner of Minnesota IT Services, where he created several nation-leading Information Technology sourcing agreements for 33,000+ user utility services statewide – including the first cloud-based public sector statewide service offering in the nation. While Tomes was serving in this role, Minnesota became the first state in the country to manage all Information Technology through service level agreements, a model that was recognized with a national award. Before joining state service, Tomes spent 13 years working for British Telecom.

    Tomes received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and attended Graduate School for Business Management at Boston University.
