Learning from the Past and Present to Reshape the Future of Business

The global pandemic has created unthinkable circumstances for business and for society. But one constant as we work through the business challenges spawned by this international crisis is the empathetic leadership that technology executives are demonstrating to their teams to help keep them safe, secure and engaged. The key for CIOs, CISOs and other technology executives to drive success for their companies is to draw from their past and current experiences in the current crisis and to apply a fresh mindset in leading the business forward into a brighter future with courage and compassion.

In this Digital Summit, top technology executives will share their advice on the roles that CIOs and tech leaders can play in driving innovation, reshaping the business and fashioning the future of work.

You’ll also discover:

"As an attendee of the HMG Virtual Summit I enjoyed the fact that it was fast moving, insightful and presented a variety of speakers, both local and non-local. The duration was just right and did not require tying up an entire day. I thought the content and format was absolutely terrific!"

Executive Interview: Surviving (and Thriving) in 2021 and Beyond

Dr. David Bray, Inaugural Director, Global GeoTech Center & Commission, Atlantic Council

This session is intended to be a fireside chat on why digital leaders must ensure their organizations can both survive and thrive in 2021. Advances in data capabilities, tremendous leaps in technologies, and changing geo-economics are introducing major challenges globally for all leaders. These challenges include increasingly complicated tech-meets-geopolitical landscapes, trade wars, the impacts of COVID-19 and a slow global recovery, the challenges of bot-driven misinformation out of context that increasingly polarizes societies, as well as the risk of international tensions becoming more heated and kinetic. Yet, in every crisis there is opportunity.

The fireside chat will highlight where the world is, and more importantly where the world is headed, so you can be ready to "skate towards the puck" and ensure your organization thrives in 2021 and beyond. In the spotlight for this session is Dr. David Bray, who Business Insider named one of the 'top 24 Americans who are changing the world', who received the Global CIO 100 award twice in 2015 and 2017, and who has received the National Intelligence Exceptional Achievement Medal for operating in challenging, turbulent environments.

  • Sonatype

The Sonatype journey started 10 years ago, just as the concept of “open source” software development was gaining steam. From our humble beginning as core contributors to Apache Maven, to supporting the world’s largest repository of open source components (Central), to distributing the world's most popular repository manager (Nexus), we’ve played a meaningful role in helping the world embrace the power of open innovation. Over time, we witnessed the staggering volume and variety of open source libraries that began flowing into every development environment in the world. We understood that when open source components are properly managed, they provide tremendous energy for accelerating innovation. Conversely, when unmanaged, open-source "gone wild" can lead directly to security vulnerabilities, licensing risks, enormous rework, and waste. Our vision today is simple. We are laser-focused on helping organizations continuously harness all of the good that open source has to offer, without any of the risks.
