https://www.globant.com/The Sonatype journey started 10 years ago, just as the concept of “open source” software development was gaining steam. From our humble beginning as core contributors to Apache Maven, to supporting the world’s largest repository of open source components (Central), to distributing the world's most popular repository manager (Nexus), we’ve played a meaningful role in helping the world embrace the power of open innovation. Over time, we witnessed the staggering volume and variety of open source libraries that began flowing into every development environment in the world. We understood that when open source components are properly managed, they provide tremendous energy for accelerating innovation. Conversely, when unmanaged, open-source "gone wild" can lead directly to security vulnerabilities, licensing risks, enormous rework, and waste. Our vision today is simple. We are laser-focused on helping organizations continuously harness all of the good that open source has to offer, without any of the risks.

The most fundamental expression of our client-first vision resides in our structure, which is unique to our profession. Our 390 consultants, operating from 63 wholly owned offices in 37 countries, are organized around a single-profit center partnership. This is designed to eliminate competitive barriers between our offices. It allows us to operate seamlessly when engagements call for us to mobilize across many offices in a country or a region. Large or small, local or global, our clients benefit from our structure by having access to our most relevant resources and relationships wherever they may reside. Underpinning this unique structure is our private ownership. We have chosen to operate our firm independent of any outside interests and are motivated solely by a desire to exceed our clients' expectations.

Helps to develop members’ careers and the next generation of IT leaders by continually increasing knowledge, industry visibility and networking among peers who become advisors, confidantes and friends. Is the voice of Central Florida’s IT community on critical issues. SIM Central Florida members meet monthly – learning from presentations and dialogues with industry leaders, top practitioners and nationally recognized experts in information systems and management practices. Before, during and after each presentation, chapter members have the opportunity to discuss important issues and concerns with guest speakers and colleagues from industry and government. History In 1997, a group of prominent CIOs in the Central Florida area decided to establish a non-competitive environment where CIOs could collaboratively share in knowledge and work experiences. The founding fathers included Andy Wing, Rick Sickles and Ron Maciejewski. Wing became the group’s President and initiated the recruitment process – encouraging Hugh Moore, Jim Dekle and Garrett Grainger to join as founding members to lead the new group, which was named the Central Florida CIO Council. Several years later, another member of the Council, Dave Razmussen, challenged the group to convert to an affiliate chapter of the Society for Information Management (SIM) – a watershed decision in our growth. The organization officially became a SIM chapter in 2001.
