Ashwin Ballal, Ph.D., EVP & CIO, Medallia

Thomas Rodden, CIO, Varian Medical Systems, A Siemens Healthineers Company

Anjana Harve, Global CIO, Fresenius Medical Care

Moderator: Hunter Muller, President & CEO, HMG Strategy

As the clock turns to 2021, hope is on the horizon as millions of COVID-19 vaccinations are being distributed across the world. Yet, we continue to live in turbulent times, which will continue into the foreseeable future. The global health crisis is impacting everything from customer behavior to existing business models and supply chains operations, resulting in dramatic shifts to remote work and organizational culture. Meanwhile, CEOs are worried about the health and safety of their employees. Now, more than ever, CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, CDOs and technology executives are being looked upon by the CEO, the Board and Line-of-Business (LOB) leaders to lead courageously, authentically and with transparency to enable their organizations and their teams to succeed and guide the path to a brighter future.

10:40 - 10:50 AM PT

EXECUTIVE INTERVIEW: Change to Win in the Next Phase

Trevor Schulze, SVP & CIO, RingCentral

The role of the CIO has been on a steady rise for the past several years. As the way people work continues to change, the demands from today’s global, mobile, and distributed workforce are also rapidly evolving. We’re at a point in time where the CIO is now front and center to defining the digital culture of an organization with a mega-trend at play that I like to call, ‘Systems of Experience.’ During my talk, I will focus on the role of the CIO amidst this shifting tide and what it takes to create a digital culture to support the future of work.

EXECUTIVE PANEL:  Safeguarding the Enterprise Against Escalating Global Cyber Threats

Shehzad Merchant, CTO, Gigamon

Laura Whitt-Winyard, Global CISO, DLL Group

Israel Martinez, Industry Advisor, Department of Homeland Security

Moderator: Beth Devin, Strategic Consultant & Advisor, HearstLab, Hearst Corporation

Make no mistake – CISOs and cyber teams are at war against nation-state threat actors and other highly-trained adversaries. The recent SolarWinds cyber-attack is believed to be the most damaging hack of a Western government ever, along with still-to-be-determined impact on more than 425 companies in the Fortune 500 who receive services from SolarWinds. While the long-range impact for companies and government agencies continues to unfold, the attacks underscore how security is more important to organizations than ever. CEOs and Board members will be relying on CISOs and security leaders more than ever to help identify and respond to potential threats and to protect the enterprise and its crown jewels.

In this executive panel, CISOs and security leaders will share their recommendations for working with the CEO and the Board on looming cyber threats, including how best to communicate these risks and articulate where funding is needed most.

11:45 - 11:55 AM PT

EXECUTIVE INTERVIEW: What to Expect from the 2021 Threat Landscape

Ryan Olson, Vice President of Threat Intelligence, Palo Alto Networks

Join us for a conversation of the major threats shaping the security landscape in 2021. The SolarWinds attacks that came to light in December of 2020 was a wake-up call for many organizations with regard software supply chain attacks. While this was far from the first attack of this type, it’s widespread impact has forced many to reconsider how they architect their networks and monitor their systems for potential compromise. The COVID-19 pandemic also forced many organizations to change how they operate in 2020, which we expect will lead to new security challenges in 2021. A rapid acceleration of transitions to the public cloud happened in many organizations, but not always with secure configuration in mind. Attackers are poised to take advantage of this oversight in 2021. Additionally, as the pandemic (hopefully) winds down throughout 2021, there will be new opportunities for attackers based on changes in user behavior and government policies that organizations should prepare for.

11:55 - 12:20 PM PT

EXECUTIVE PANEL:  Leading and Building a High Performing Culture

Tom Cullen, CIO, Corsair

Andrew Bray, VP Global IT, Dialog Semiconductor Inc.

Jennifer Wesson Greenman, CIO, Cancer Treatment Centers of America Global

Sree Balasubramanian, Head of Enterprise, Corporate, and Digitization Technology, Bank of the West

Moderator: Michael LaVallee, Managing Partner, Jobplex

As remote work has extended into 2021, many CIOs and technology executives have expressed concerns about keeping employees engaged and motivated over the long-term. On top of this, it’s also been challenging to convey a sense of organizational culture both to existing employees and new hires. This panel discussion with top executives will focus on what’s required to cultivate a connected culture into the future – including one that embraces diversity, equity and inclusion.

  • Sonatype

The Sonatype journey started 10 years ago, just as the concept of “open source” software development was gaining steam. From our humble beginning as core contributors to Apache Maven, to supporting the world’s largest repository of open source components (Central), to distributing the world's most popular repository manager (Nexus), we’ve played a meaningful role in helping the world embrace the power of open innovation. Over time, we witnessed the staggering volume and variety of open source libraries that began flowing into every development environment in the world. We understood that when open source components are properly managed, they provide tremendous energy for accelerating innovation. Conversely, when unmanaged, open-source "gone wild" can lead directly to security vulnerabilities, licensing risks, enormous rework, and waste. Our vision today is simple. We are laser-focused on helping organizations continuously harness all of the good that open source has to offer, without any of the risks.

No consultants. No professional services. Delivered as a true SaaS offering.
