With over 10 years of experience as a CIO and CISO, Bryce has influenced the boards of companies in industries as diverse as financial services, retail, healthcare, technology and manufacturing industries. He founded TCE Strategy, which specializes in strategic consulting on technology and cybersecurity.

    Bryce holds a CISM certification and is known as a thought leader, cybersecurity expert and nationally-recognized public speaker. He started his technology career on a Commodore PET computer and a cassette tape drive. Bryce is known for creating business value from technology opportunities, implementing technology security that promotes a positive end-user experience, and wearing t-shirts with clever jokes so obscure that they are often humorous only to himself.

    Bryce received a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Illinois. He, his wife and two young sons live in Lakeville, MN.

    Fun fact: Bryce is a weekend high-speed track driver and coach at venues across the USA. He has over 15 years of experience, and has driven cars as diverse as an 85 horsepower Saturn to a 650 horsepower Porsche 911 Turbo. He has had over 100 students, none of whom have died while under his instruction.

  • Robin Brown

    Robin is the CIO for the Cargill North America Protein Group.  She has 24 years of IT experience in the agriculture, construction, healthcare, government, consulting, retail and financial sectors. Prior to Cargill, she was the VP & CIO at Mortenson Construction and held other senior leadership roles at UnitedHealth Group, Accenture, Best Buy, and Arcadia Financial.  She is known for driving technology-enabled innovation, strategic business transformation, building global shared service capabilities, and transforming IT functions to be value-driven while fostering relationships between the Business, Operations and IT delivery. 

    Robin is recognized as a transformational leader in the industry.  She is as a cultural change agent and has a reputation for stepping into very chaotic situations, assessing the landscape quickly, identifying gaps and creating a vision and strategy to move the business forward. Robin has a reputation for building and mentoring strong leadership teams that are based on a change agent philosophy and high expectations of accountability. Focusing on the culture and team member engagement is important to her. Robin’s passion is mentoring leaders and team members that have high potential.

    She is active in the community and holds several Board of Director roles.  She is part of the Think IT Board of Advisors and the Governing Body for the Minneapolis HMG CIO Executive Leadership Summit.  She’s also on the Board of Directors for EMPOWER Leadership Academy for Girls, WLiT (Women Leaders in Technology), and New Market Bank.  Robin co-leads the Think IT Women in Leadership forums and was also the President and Founding Board Member of the West Lakes Chapter of National Charity League, focusing on mothers and daughters volunteering together.

    Robin has twin daughters in their second year of college.  She travels quite a bit with her “empty nest” friends and enjoys bootcamp classes, running, volunteering, indulging in fabulous wine around her fire pit, spoiling her little niece and nephews, and riding her Harley.

    Lucas Budman has over 17 years of experience in commercial software development, high-performance computing (HPC), and machine learning in a variety of industries including finance, e-commerce, retail, education, and high- tech. Lucas was formerly Chief Technology Officer of MyCollege Foundation and Portmont College – a Bill & Melinda Gates funded non-profit whose mission is to provide higher education pathways to low-income young adults. Lucas holds a M.S. in Finance, a B.S. in Computer Science, and is a graduate of Computer Science at the University of Colorado.

    Currently, Lucas has responsibility for building analytics platforms and solutions, both internally for CenturyLink and our customers. He’s actively involved in the data center analytics and monetization program.

    Jamey Cummings was formerly Senior Client Partner in Korn Ferry’s Global Technology Practice. He co-lead’s the Firm’s Global Cybersecurity Practice and is also a member of the Firm’s Information Officers Practice.

    Mr. Cummings is a recognized leader in advising organizations on the recruitment, assessment, development, and retention of information technology as well as information security & risk management talent at all levels, including the Board of Directors. His clients range from large global corporations to high growth entrepreneurial companies, spanning all industries. In addition to Chief Information Officers, Chief Information Security Officers, and their key leaders, he also recruits cybersecurity consultants for leading professional services firms as well as top executives for cybersecurity technology companies and managed security services providers. He is based in the Firm’s Dallas office.

    Prior to Korn Ferry, Mr. Cummings served as an associate principal in the industrial, supply chain, and transportation & logistics practices of another leading executive search firm, where he executed senior executive search assignments for both public and private equity-backed companies. He also served clients in the consumer & retail, technology, government & defense, biotechnology, and education sectors.

    Prior to his career in executive search, Mr. Cummings was a consultant with The Boston Consulting Group in Dallas, where he worked on a wide variety of projects with clients in the aerospace & defense, consumer finance, telecommunications, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and education industries.
    Earlier in his career, he served nine years with distinction as an officer in the U.S. Navy's SEAL teams.

    He earned a master’s degree in business administration from Stanford University, and graduated with merit with a bachelor of science in aeronautical engineering from The United States Naval Academy.

She joined the company in January 2017, bringing more than 20 years of experience with Fortune 100 companies leading global IT organizations and delivering strategic technology initiatives. Prior to Donaldson, she spent six years with Honeywell International, where she was VP and CIO for Building Solutions and then Enterprise Systems & Solutions. Kathryn also held technology leadership positions at Stratsys, Medica, American Express, and Wells Fargo & Company. Kathryn has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Iona College and an MBA in information systems from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.     Nate Haines co-leads Russell Reynolds’ office in Minneapolis/St. Paul and has experience recruiting for Board, CEO, and other senior leadership positions across a variety of industries. He has led recruitments for CIO, CTO and other senior technology positions, such as digital and data analytics leaders, for both public and private companies ranging from the Fortune 100 to Private Equity backed start-ups. He has also worked on senior recruitments for several leading management consulting firms.

    Prior to joining Russell Reynolds, Nate spent 15 years as a management consultant. Nate started his career at Arthur Andersen before joining Huron Consulting Group as one of its founding employees. While there, Nate held multiple roles with increasing responsibility. Most recently, as managing director (partner), Nate served as a leader for his business unit’s cultural advisory and performance review committees. Nate was also a facilitator for his business unit’s development program for high-potential employees on the cusp of promotion to managing director.

    At Huron, Nate’s business unit acquired a software company. He contributed to the integration of this acquisition and, as one of the senior leaders of his business unit, helped to grow its revenue by 200% over a period of approximately 5 years. As a consultant, Nate has had significant roles on more than 20 technology implementations including both vendor and custom solutions.

    Nate has presented at dozens of industry conferences and has written articles which have appeared in publications such as the Harvard Business Review.

    Nate received a B.B.A. in finance from the University of Iowa where he was a Hancher-Finkbine nominee. He received an M.B.A. (with honors) from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

    Douglas Hegley, Chief Digital Officer at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, has been at the forefront of digital transformation work in the cultural heritage sector for more than 20 years. With his background in psychology, he uses a human-centered approach that always puts people first. During his career he has helped create collaborative technology operations and to deliver engaging digital content. That work started out in 1997 at The Met, and continued at the Minneapolis Institute of Art in 2011 as the Chief Digital Officer, where he set the vision and strategy for digital media and technology, while also working on new leadership models, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration. In 2020, he returned to The Met as the Chief Digital Officer. Mr. Hegley is a strong advocate for productive and transformative organizational change, keeping pace with technology innovation and new business models. He has been recognized by his peers as a leader in the field, is a frequent public speaker, and has served on boards and committees at city, state, regional and national levels.

    Nick began his technology career at IBM and later helped drive growth in several smaller technology firms before opening the 24th office for International Network Services. After Lucent Technologies acquired INS, Nick co-founded Aeritae in January 2001. Recognized by Minnesota Business Monthly as a 2016 Best Places to Work, Aeritae just celebrated 15 years in business.

    Nick also serves on the board of Genesys Works, a not-for-profit organization with a proven record for enabling inner-city economically disadvantaged minority high school students to succeed as corporate technology professionals. This program helps high school seniors thrive in the economic mainstream by providing them knowledge, skills and real world IT experiences.

  • Ricardo Khan

    Rick has more than 19 years of experience in the architectural and construction industries and has been instrumental within Mortenson in driving innovation of VDC processes. Rick joined Mortenson’s Denver office in 2005 as an integrated construction manager and led the development of new processes for virtual design and construction. In 2011, Rick relocated to Minneapolis and now works in the company’s headquarters office as the director of integrated construction. In his new role, Rick manages the overall Integrated Delivery Advancement Team (IDAT), made up of more than 60 team members, providing company-wide leadership in VDC systems, tools, and processes. Rick collaborates with each operating group and business service groups to create, document, and share best practices and serves as a technical resource to the integrated construction teams, fostering integration of VDC processes into our everyday business operations. Rick also assists the teams in investigating emerging technologies to support the evolution and growth of reality capture.

    Mike Larson is the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President for Agiliti (formerly UHS) and is responsible for all aspects of IT strategy, service and solution delivery. Agiliti is a clinical equipment services company that helps health care organizations increase operating efficiencies by optimizing the equipment lifecycle. UHS helps health care organizations access, manage and maintain medical equipment so that their clinical staff is better equipped to care™ for patients. Agiliti owns and/or manages more than 700,000 pieces of medical equipment for over 7,000 national, regional and local acute care hospitals and alternate site providers in all 50 states.  Mike’s organization supports Agiliti’s 3000+ team members located across nearly 90 UHS and nearly 200 customer locations.

    Before to joining Agiliti, Larson served in several roles at Corelogic, Inc., a transaction processing and data & analytics company serving the real estate and property & casualty insurance markets. Larson served as VP, Software Product Engineering and as CIO for the National Joint Ventures business unit. Prior to Corelogic, Larson was VP/CIO for Caribou Coffee Company, Inc. responsible for all of IT functions supporting 6,500 employees and 500 retail coffeehouses. Before Caribou, Larson led the global IT function for Zomax, Inc., a global provider of outsourced supply chain services including manufacturing, fulfillment and customer contact. Preceding Zomax, Larson was the VP of Business Operations for Agiliti, Inc. an application service provider delivering software-as-a-service and managed hosting solutions. He also spent 10 years in IT and business consulting operating his own firm and leading multiple delivery organizations for a national firm.

    Larson graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (Inactive) and an active volunteer with the Northern Star Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

  • Joy Lindsay
    StarTec Investments, LLC

    Joy Lindsay is President and co-founder of StarTec Investments, LLC.  She has been an active member of the Minnesota venture capital community since 1998.

    In addition to her role at StarTec, Ms. Lindsay is a member of the Sofia Angel Fund, a Minnesota-based women’s angel fund focused on making private equity investments in companies founded by or led by women, or whose products and services target women. She is also a member of the Gopher Angels, a group of angel investors who share screening and due diligence of investment opportunities. 

    Ms. Lindsay is a member and past chair of the Minnesota High Tech Association board of directors, is a member of the Advisory Board at the Holmes Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Minnesota, and has served as Secretary and Vice-President of the Minnesota Venture Capital Association.  She is a judge for the Minnesota Cup business plan competition and serves on the Planning Committee for the Annual Minnesota Venture & Finance Conference.  Ms. Lindsay is one of the founding Agitators of MOJO MN, an innotvation co-operative working to fuel entrepreneurship and reignite Minnesota's culture of innovation.  She takes an active role in StarTec’s portfolio companies, and routinely serves as a board director or board observer.  Additionally, she is on the board of directors for ACES – a non-profit after-school tutor/mentoring program for inner-city youth.

    Ms. Lindsay served on the state of Minnesota’s Science and Technology Advisory Commission.  She was earlier appointed by former Governor Pawlenty to the 21st Century Tax Reform Commission. In 2009, she was named one of “40 Minnesotans on the Move” by Finance and Commerce magazine. In both 2010 and 2011, Twin Cities Business magazine identified her as one of “200 Minnesotans You Should Know”.  And, in 2013, she was named one of Minnesota Business Magazine's "The (Real) Power 50".

    Prior to founding StarTec, Ms. Lindsay was a Senior Vice President in the Westlaw division of West Publishing (now Thomson Reuters).  She started her career at West in software development and held numerous leadership positions in IT, customer support, account management and sales.  She has a B.A. in mathematics from Carleton College and an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota.

    Mr. Tenace has over 20 years of health care experience. Prior to joining MOBĒ, LLC Mr. Tenace held the position of Chief Strategy Officer and was responsible for developing, communicating, executing and sustaining strategic initiatives that would help drive the company’s future growth and profitability.  Mr. Tenace also started two ACO companies as President and COO where he led the development of the business model, secured over $16 million in venture capital funding, oversaw the operations and technology build out, and led the business development and sales processes. Mr. Tenace also served as a Senior Executive at UnitedHealth Group where he served in various leadership roles.  Notably, he led Quality and Affordability Programs, the collection of all UnitedHealth Group programs intended to impact the cost and quality of care for the 45 million commercial, Medicare and Medicaid lives UnitedHealth Group served. Through the various quality improvement programs he oversaw, UnitedHealth Group realized demonstrable savings of over $300 million, and trained over 5,000 Green Belts, Black Belts, and Master Black Belts.

    Mr. Tenace has also been involved with the formation of national health care policy.  He was asked to lead a team of national health care leaders in presenting approaches to reducing Medicare cost trends and improving quality to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.  At UnitedHealth Group, Mr. Tenace was asked to present thoughts on the use of transparency and provider scorecards to improve population health and costs by the health care team for President George W. Bush.  Additionally, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s health care team asked him to discuss options with them and the California state legislature for creating universal health coverage for the state.

    Mr. Tenace received both a BS in Computer Science and an MBA from Clarkson University, where he graduated first in his class. He also served as a distinguished member of the U.S. Army National Guard for fourteen years, reaching the rank of Major.

Throughout her career, Thibodeau’s leadership has extended to serving on the boards of directors of more than a dozen companies including Dri-Steem, The Credit Company, Microworx, Arco Transcription, Milestone Investments, EDI Solutions, HCMC Advisory Board, as well as on boards of trade, professional and non-profit organizations.  Currently she serves on the Board of Directors of BRAAS, M Health, Women’s Health Leadership Trust, Minnesota High Tech Association, and Minnesota Visiting Nurses Agency. Ms Thibodeau also started  Minnesota Women Corporate Directors and is on the Advisory Board for Women in the Boardroom. Ms. Thibodeau has been on the Governance, Nominating and Compensation Committees of many boards and well suited to serve on these committees. Ms. Thibodeau has received numerous awards for her success in leadership, her business results and her advocacy for women entrepreneurs and for women serving on boards.  She received a Lifeline Award from Upsize magazine in 2007; the Minnesota Business Owner of the Year award from the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) in 2004; and recognition as one of the “Top 25 Innovative Women” by the Minneapolis/St Paul Business Journal, one of 500 Top Diversity Awards in the US and the Jean Harris Award in 2012 from the Women’s Health Leadership Trust.
