Sven Gerjets has been Chief Technology Officer of Mattel since July 2017. From January 2017 to July 2017, he served as Chief Product Officer of n.io Innovation. Mr. Gerjets was the Chief Information Officer of Time Warner Cable, Inc., from October 2015 to June 2016. Before joining Time Warner Cable, Inc., he was the Chief Technology Officer of Pearson from July 2014 to October 2015. Ben Gibson is the Chief Marketing Officer of Nutanix where he oversees the company’s global marketing strategy to accelerate customer adoption of its enterprise cloud solutions. Before joining Nutanix, Ben was Chief Marketing Officer at F5 Networks, where he was responsible for leading the application networking and security company’s global marketing. Before F5 Networks, he served as Chief Marketing Officer at Veritas, where he supervised a global team of marketing professionals and led the company’s rebranding efforts following a spin-off from Symantec. Jim Spitze wrote his first computer program in 1959 and went on in 1963 to co-invent the world’s first commercially successful electronic calculator. Starting in the mid 1970’s, he became a serial CIO and then co-founded The Systems Consulting Consortium, Inc., a “high-end” IT-focused management consulting firm which helped found many IT departments in Northern California such as Tencor, Cirrus Logic, and others. Concurrently he helped found the Fisher CIO Leadership Program within the Haas School of Business at UC-Berkeley and its globally-recognized Fisher-Hopper Prize for Lifetime Achievement in CIO Leadership, described by some as “The Nobel Prize for CIOs”. In the 70s and 80s, he served as the CIO for Xerox Data Systems, American President Lines, QANTAS (in Australia), and more recently as an Interim CIO (as a consultant) for a large number of Bay Area firms. His 59 year career spans the entire growth period of “the computer.” He will retire to his ranch, Palm Lane Farms, on Friday, April 27, 2018.
