  • Bhavani Amirthalingam

    Bhavani Amirthalingam joined Ameren in 2018 as senior vice president and chief digital information officer. She is leading Ameren's digital transformation to deliver a differentiated customer and co-worker experience, leveraging emerging technologies to enable the grid of the future while driving operational excellence at scale. She is focused on accelerating technology solutions to enable greater safety, security, reliability and productivity at scale.

    Amirthalingam brings to Ameren both a breadth and depth of experience as a customer-centric innovator. Starting in 2015, she worked as chief information officer and business transformation leader of North American Operations at Schneider Electric, a Fortune 500 corporation specializing in global energy management and automation solutions integrating technology, software and services. There, she drove the organization's digital transformation across the United States, Canada, Mexico and Central America. Previously, at World Wide Technology (WWT) Inc., she served as CIO and vice president of Customer Solutions and Innovation.  
     
    She earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Madras, India, and an MBA in information management from the S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research in Mumbai. Amirthalingam serves as a member of the Forbes Technology Council and an executive member of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) Information, Communication and Cyber Security (ICCS) Committee.
     
    Amirthalingam is as passionate about giving back as she is about driving results. She serves on the board for the St. Louis Ballet Company and the board of Soorya Performing Arts, promoting South Asian performing arts in North America. She also has been a mentor and coach for FIRST robotics competitions. She lives in the St. Louis area with her husband and two children.

    Jim Cavellier is currently the EVP & Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Cass Information Systems. Cass is the nation's leading provider of transportation, energy, telecom and environmental invoice payment and information services. Within Cass, Mr. Cavellier has responsibility for the company’s global information technology strategy and operations.

    Mr. Cavellier has more than 25 years of experience in strategic technology planning and development of critical systems. His background includes streamlining operations, implementing Agile and Lean methodologies and enhancing business partner alignment.

    Immediately prior to joining Cass, Cavellier was a Domain Chief Information Officer for Payment and Wealth Management technologies within Comerica Bank. Over 16 years at Comerica, he held numerous technology leadership positions ranging from strategic technology planning to operational responsibility for all technology across the U.S.

    Previously, he held technology leadership positions with The Auto Club Group, Ernst & Young, LLP and General Motors/Electronic Data Systems. Mr. Cavellier earned a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Oakland University, Rochester Hills, Michigan.

    Mr. Cavellier currently serves on the University of Missouri - St. Louis (UMSL) CIO Board, is active with the Society of Information Management (SIM) and St. Louis Regional Business Council (RBC) mentoring program.

    Trina Dyan Clark James, a native of St. Louis who grew up in the Ville neighborhood, is the Regional Director for NPower St. Louis.  NPower creates pathways to economic prosperity by providing FREE IT training and paid internships to young adults, ages 18 – 25, from under-resourced communities within the St. Louis metropolitan area who have earned a high school degree or GED.  The goal of our 22 week IT training program is to prepare our students to earn a CompTIA A+ Certification, learn from senior IT executives, and gain valuable experience that will support them in launching fulfilling and family-sustaining digital careers.  While new to St. Louis, NPower has a successful track record of results across North America:  over the past 5 years over 1000 graduates are in well-paid careers with room for income and professional growth.

    Prior to NPower, Ms. Clark James was the founder and CEO of Jamaa Learning Center, a high-performing full-service community charter public school that opened in August 2011.  Jamaa worked to provide quality educational and social services to not just its students, but also their families as well as residents in north St. Louis neighborhoods thereby contributing to the revitalization of what were once rich and vibrant African-American communities.  Jamaa grew from serving approximately 80 students in three (3) grades (Kindergarten, 3rd, and 6th grade) during the 2011 – 2012 school year to serving approximately 160 students in Kindergarten – 8th grade beginning with the 2013 – 2014 school year.

    Prior to founding Jamaa, she was the Executive Director of St. Louisans United To Attract KIPP (SUTAK), where she successfully led the efforts to secure the necessary human, financial, and capital resources required by Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP) for the successful startup and growth of a cluster of KIPP schools in the city of St. Louis.  Her efforts resulted in St Louis being selected as the sole expansion site for KIPP in 2007 and the first KIPP St. Louis school, KIPP Inspire Academy, opening in July 2009.

    Prior to KIPP, Ms. Clark James completed the Broad Residency in Urban Education program at St. Louis Public Schools (SLPS), where she was the Special Assistant to Superintendent Creg Williams overseeing the development and implementation of various strategic projects aimed at achieving major public education reform within the SLPS district.

    She began her career in the San Francisco Bay Area as an engineer at Solectron, an electronics manufacturing company, later moving on to Pinnacle Systems, a video editing equipment manufacturer.  She spent the majority of her engineering career at Apple Computer, Inc. in a variety of roles at the Elk Grove, CA manufacturing site culminating with two leadership roles- New Products Program Manager and Site Test Engineering Manager.

    Ms. Clark James earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology, a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University, and a Master of Business Administration at University of California, Davis.

    She currently serves as the Assistant Treasurer for the St. Louis Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Vice Chair of the Forward Through Ferguson Board of Directors.

     

    Ms. Clark James is a proud mother to three (3) beautiful and bright children- Khalani (age 22), Liya (age 18), and Rhadi (age 11).  She credits her drive and accomplishments to the love and support of her grandparents, parents, and siblings.

    Matt Dimmic leads the Genomics & Data Science platform in Bayer’s Plant Biotechnology division, researching new innovations to improve agriculture and help farmers feed the world sustainably. An experienced leader in data analytics and computational biology across multiple divisions, he has a strong track record of building and developing high-performing data science teams that partner for success. As a Science Fellow and a member of Bayer’s Data Science Council, he has driven multiple strategic initiatives to strengthen Bayer’s data science community, and has played a role in Bayer’s transformation into a digital company.  

    Prior to joining Monsanto (now Bayer) in 2011, Matt served as Director of Computational Discovery at Divergence, a successful St. Louis ag-oriented startup focused on new methods for controlling crop, animal, and human pathogens. A native of the St. Louis area, Matt holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in Biophysics, with bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Missouri.

    As senior vice president and chief information officer for BJC HealthCare, Jerry Fox is responsible for planning, developing and supporting information technology and telecommunications initiatives throughout BJC’s hospitals and service organizations.

    Before coming to BJC, Fox was the global chief information officer with Rockwell Automation in Milwaukee, Wis. He was responsible for information technology strategy and operations at the $6 billion industrial automation company with more than 25,000 employees in 80 countries. He joined Rockwell in 2007 as vice president of information technology operations.

    Throughout his career, Fox has held IT leadership positions across a diverse set of industry segments. Prior to Rockwell, Fox held technology leadership positions as chief technology
    officer and director of global information technology operations at Dana Corporation, a Toledo, Ohio-based automotive parts supplier.

    A native of Dayton, Ohio, Fox holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in business administration – management information systems from Ohio University in Athens. He has been an active volunteer with the IT Senior Management Forum focused on expanding the pipeline of diverse IT talent. He is also co-founder of IT United, a CIO advisory board that connects IT professionals with community volunteer opportunities.

    Dr. Robert Gaskill-Clemons, DBA, serves as  the City’s Chief Technology Officer, the first CTO to be appointed in the City’s history. He joined the City after serving as the Statewide Enterprise Technology Architect for the State of Washington. His prior positions include business and technology consulting for the American Red Cross and several technology officer positions while serving in the U.S. Military. As the CTO for the City of St. Louis, Robert leads initiatives to explore how technology can be used to improve quality of life for citizens. He also serves as the point person in developing partnerships between the City and St. Louis’s growing tech and innovation sectors.

    Steve Hassell has been on the tech industry’s radar for over 20 years as a recognized thought leader & technology executive with extensive experience consolidating and turning-around billion-dollar, global operations. Because he moves seamlessly between technology and business circles, Steve has enjoyed success in both the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Information Officer roles.

    Steve is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Atomation, a St. Louis headquartered startup that provides an end-to-end Internet of Things (IoT) platform using distributed intelligence to disrupt traditional automation system approaches in the Utility, Machinery and Logistics spaces.

    Prior to Atomation, Steve spent over 12 years at Emerson Electric Company (NYSE: EMR), an $18B multinational, Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial, commercial and consumer market products.  Steve spent his first 6 years as Emerson’s Chief Information Officer where he led efforts to synergize, centralize and consolidate company-wide IT strategies to leverage information across the businesses.  He then shifted to a business role leading what became Emerson Network Power’s Data Center Solutions business, a $1.1B global provider of data center hardware and software across the technology spectrum.

    Before joining Emerson Electric, Steve served as CIO at Invensys, VP and CIO of Newport News Shipbuilding as well as CEO of Naptheon, a wholly owned subsidiary that he launched out of Newport News Shipbuilding to transform internal IT operations from a cost line item to a revenue generator.

    Steve holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and is a graduate of the US Naval Academy where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science before serving seven years as a surface line officer in the United States Navy.

    Steve serves as a board member of BotDoc, an advisory board member of CYR3CON and the Internet of Things Community and is a mentor at SixThirty Cyber in St. Louis.  He lives in Ladue with his wife, Susan, and has two children - one in college and one recent college graduate.

    Kevin N Hooper is President and General Manager of DCG for NA where he owns Sales, Channels, Solutions, Alliances and Services. Prior to Lenovo, Kevin led revenue generation at Rogue Wave Software as their Chief Revenue Officer focusing on developing and executing sales strategies, as well as aligning and optimizing the customer experience to deliver revenue. Kevin started his career designing nuclear power plant control rooms and coding some of the first interfaces to access databases over ARPANET in the early 1990s. Kevin brings experience with large sales organizations, including direct, channel, and strategic partnerships at Oracle, IBM, HP and NEC. Always focused on entrepreneurial business lines, new customer acquisition, and channels, Kevin brings his passion for solving customer problems with technology. Kevin holds a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics, and a Masters in Industrial Engineering. He lives in Winnetka, IL, a suburb of Chicago with his wife, 3 children and a black Labrador named Ash.

    Tony uses his operating experience from being a CEO, financial background as a CPA and CA, and technical knowledge from the work that he has done for Tech companies to drill down and understand at a nuanced level what his clients are seeking to achieve as they build their teams.     J.C leads the teams responsible for technology support, prevention of friction, knowledge management, technical training, and café technology service automation.  He joined Panera in 2014 to commercialize the roll out of the new in-café kiosk ordering technology.  Later that year, he transitioned to assume responsibility of all of the support functions with the charge of changing the culture to improve service.  Since that time, his team converts to FTE and/or promotes an average of 46 people annually.  J.C. is also leading Panera’s Veteran’s Networking Group, Panera Salute, whose mission is simply to Acknowledge, Appreciate, and Advocate for Panera Veterans and the families of Veterans.  J.C. is most proud of his genuine commitment to develop and grow people across all levels of his organization.

    Prior to joining Panera Bread, J.C. was a Business Leader at Mastercard Worldwide where his career included Project Management, Software Development Manager, Internet Gateway Platform Management, and finally Fraud Investigations.  He also spent several years in the photography industry with both CPI Corporation and Picture People.  J.C. earned his MBA from Fontbonne University in 2004.
