EXECUTIVE PANEL:  Reimagining the Business – Leading and Innovating in Times of Radical Change

Hari Candadai, GVP, Global Thought Leadership and Research, Rimini Street

Chris Gates, Group CIO and SVP Hosting Services, All State

Jeanette Horan, Experienced Board Member & Strategic Advisor

Marcus Session, VP of IT, Tampa International Airport

Moderator: Hunter Muller, President & CEO, HMG Strategy

When the world changed, companies across most industries had to develop radically new business models and digital services in order to survive and move forward. This includes driving a culture of speed and digital fluency throughout the organization. This panel of top global executives will share their perspectives on how they led this radical change in business innovation and cultural change.

12:40 – 1:00 PM ET

EXECUTIVE INTERVIEW:  Your Guide to Surviving (and Thriving) in 2021 and Beyond – Audience Q&A with Dr. David Bray

Dr. David Bray, Inaugural Director, Global GeoTech Center & Commission, Atlantic Council interviewed by Hunter Muller, President and CEO, HMG Strategy

This session is intended to be a lively and interactive Q&A on why digital leaders must ensure their organizations can both survive and thrive in 2021. Advances in data capabilities, tremendous leaps in technologies, and changing geo-economics are introducing major challenges globally for all leaders. These challenges include increasingly complicated tech-meets-geopolitical landscapes, trade wars, the impacts of COVID-19 and a slow global recovery, the challenges of bot-driven misinformation out of context that increasingly polarized societies, as well as the risk of international tensions becoming more heated and kinetic. Yet, in every crisis there is opportunity.

Come prepared to consider both just where the world is, and more importantly where the world is headed, so you can be ready to "skate towards the puck" and ensure your organization thrives in 2021 and beyond. Leading this session is Dr. David Bray, who Business Insider named one of the 'top 24 Americans who are changing the world' and who has received the National Intelligence Exceptional Achievement Medal for operating in challenging, turbulent environments.

We know that disruptive forces are driving the future of business and work. In new research from the Korn Ferry Institute, it was determined that future-ready leadership is urgently needed. To beat the competition in the future, companies must change the way they innovate, they must participate in the flow of knowledge, and they must create an innovation ecosystem. To build this capability, organizations need leaders who can continuously disrupt themselves and proactively drive change to navigate the uncertain business environment. Introducing “The Self-Disruptive Leader”.

1:20 – 1:30 PM ET

SIM Leader of the Year Award

In this session, top-tier technology executives will share their insights on successful ways to band the team together and cultivate digital and secure innovation in a remote work setting, including the ransomware pandemic plaguing businesses.

  • Sonatype

The Sonatype journey started 10 years ago, just as the concept of “open source” software development was gaining steam. From our humble beginning as core contributors to Apache Maven, to supporting the world’s largest repository of open source components (Central), to distributing the world's most popular repository manager (Nexus), we’ve played a meaningful role in helping the world embrace the power of open innovation. Over time, we witnessed the staggering volume and variety of open source libraries that began flowing into every development environment in the world. We understood that when open source components are properly managed, they provide tremendous energy for accelerating innovation. Conversely, when unmanaged, open-source "gone wild" can lead directly to security vulnerabilities, licensing risks, enormous rework, and waste. Our vision today is simple. We are laser-focused on helping organizations continuously harness all of the good that open source has to offer, without any of the risks.
