    Dr. David A. Bray was named one of the top "24 Americans Who Are Changing the World" under 40 by Business Insider in 2016. He was also named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum for 2016-2021. He also accepted a role of Co-Chair for an IEEE Committee focused on Artificial Intelligence, automated systems, and innovative policies globally for 2016-2017 and has been serving as a Visiting Executive In-Residence at Harvard University since 2015. He has been named a Marshall Memorial Fellow for 2017-2018 and will travel to Europe to discuss Trans-Atlantic issues of common concern including exponential technologies and the global future ahead. He also will start a new role as Executive Director for the People-Centered Internet coalition founded and chaired by Vint Cerf in October 2017.

    David enjoys creative problem solving. He began working for the U.S. government at age 15 on computer simulations at a high-energy physics facility investigating quarks and neutrinos. In later roles, he designed new telemedicine interfaces and space-based forest fire forecasting prototypes for the Department of Defense. From 1998-2000 he volunteered as a part-time crew lead with Habitat for Humanity International in the Philippines, Honduras, Romania, and Nepal while also working as a project manager with Yahoo! and a Microsoft partner firm. Dr. Bray then joined as IT Chief for the Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Program at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, leading the program's technology response to during 9/11, anthrax in 2001, Severe Acute Respiratory System in 2003, and other international public health emergencies. He later completed a PhD from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and two post-doctoral associateships at MIT and Harvard in 2008.

    David likes to be a digital diplomat and a "human flak jacket" for teams of change agents working in turbulent environments. He volunteered in 2009 to deploy to Afghanistan to help "think differently" on military and humanitarian issues and in 2010 became a Senior National Intelligence Service Executive advocating for increased information interoperability, cybersecurity, and protection of civil liberties. In 2012, he became the Executive Director for the bipartisan National Commission for Review of Research and Development Programs of the United States Intelligence Community, later receiving the National Intelligence Exceptional Achievement Medal. He received both the Arthur S. Flemming Award and Roger W. Jones Award for Executive Leadership in 2013. He also was chosen to be an Eisenhower Fellow to meet with leaders in Taiwan and Australia on multisector cyber strategies for the "Internet of Everything" in 2015.

    David passions include "near impossible missions" involving humans and technology in challenging circumstances. He has served as the Chief Information Officer for the Federal Communications Commission, leading FCC's IT Transformation since 2013. Through the efforts of a team of positive change agents, he led the transformation of the FCC's legacy IT with more than 207 different systems to award-winning tech. This included rolling-out new cloud-based IT that achieved results in 1/2 the time at 1/6 the cost. He was selected to be one of the "Fedscoop 50" for Leadership in 2014, 2015, and 2016 and the recipient of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronic Association's Outstanding Achievement Award for Civilian Government in 2015. Dr. Bray also received the global CIO 100 Award twice, which usually is awarded to private sector Fortune 500 companies, both in 2015 and 2017, for his transformational leadership.

    Kirsten Davies is formerly the Group Chief Security Officer (CSO) for Barclays Africa Group, where she has been tapped to build and run an end to end security function to include cybersecurity, information security, fraud, analytics, and physical security (among others) for operations across the continent.

    Kirsten brings a unique blend of global leadership, business acumen, cyber security practitioner experience, and technology background to her role. She is a proven leader in guiding large-scale global transformation programs focused on cyber and information security, technology, business process, and organizational transformation.

    Prior to her role with Barclays, Davies served in two capacities at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), both as Vice President and Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and as Vice President for Enterprise Security Strategy, heading up one of four
    worldwide, strategic customer-facing areas for HPE.

    In her tenure with HPE, she achieved the first-ever Cyber Security Master Agreement with the German Workers Council, now replicated across HPE’s 20+ Works Councils in EMEA, led the strategic overhaul and reorganization of the Cyber Security
    Program, and broadened the capability of “Next Generation Security”, including Insider Risk and the IT/OT convergence.

    Prior to HPE, Kirsten served as the CISO for Global InfoSec Strategy and Governance at Siemens. There she managed the global InfoSec Transformation Program to refine the culture, people, policies, processes and technical portfolio of information security. Prior to that, she held senior leadership positions at Booz Allen Hamilton and Deloitte Australia.

  • John Iannarelli

    John G. Iannarelli recently retired from the FBI after more than 20 years of service, during which he was a member of the SWAT Team and participated in the investigations of the Oklahoma City Bombing, the 9/11 attack, and the Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords shooting.  John previously served at FBI Headquarters as their national spokesperson and on the Cyber Division Executive staff.  In Phoenix, John was the Cyber squad supervisor before promotion to Assistant Special Agent in Charge, the number two position overseeing all Criminal, Cyber, and Counter Intelligence investigations throughout Arizona.  John has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Computer Science for his contributions to the field of cyber investigations.

    John is the author of several other books, to include Why Teens Fail and What to Fix, a parents’ guide to protecting their children from Internet predators and other dangers, and Information Governance Security, how businesses can protect their sensitive data from loss or compromise.  His recently released How to Stop A Terrorist, is a guide for the average person to recognize and help prevent terrorism. John is a highly sought after speaker and has presented to Fortune 500 companies, domestic and international audiences, the United Nations, and the Vatican where he met personally with Pope Francis to discuss the evolution of cyber crime.

    A former San Diego Police Officer and a graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law, to include studies of international criminal and civil law at Oxford, England, John is also an attorney admitted to the practice of law in California, Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is currently a private consultant, whose clients have included the both the FBI and a national professional sports league.

  • Wanda Jones-Heath

    Wanda Jones-Heath is the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer/Chief, Cybersecurity Division, Office of Information Dominance and Chief Information Officer, Pentagon, DC.  She leads Division comprised of military, civilian, and contractor personnel responsible for developing Air Force Cybersecurity policy and strategy for over 5,000 Air Force Information Technology systems.  She also manages the Air Force’s transition to the Risk Management Framework and provides oversight of the Air Force’s Assessment and Authorization program.

    Ms. Jones-Heath graduated from the University of SC in 1990 with a degree in Computer Science.  She began her Civil Service career as a Palace Acquire Intern as a information systems specialist in various functional areas.  She moved to Headquarters Air Combat Command, Langley Air Force Base, Va., in 1993.  There she held positions responsible for policy and guidance for security and network systems.  Prior to assuming her current position, Ms. Jones-Heath was the Program Manager, Defense Information Systems Agency.  Ms. Jones-Heath led the effort to establish a DoD Mobile capability to include infrastructure.  Her joint experience includes working in various positions at Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

    Michael Katz is a Principal Security Specialist at Infoblox. Michael has been in the security industry as an Entrepreneur, Account Manager and subject matter specialist for over twenty years. Michael founded RAE Internet in 2000, an anti-virus distributor focused on bringing international anti-virus firms to the US market. Subsequently, Michael founded Mailspect, an email security platform for anti-virus, anti-spam, email content filtering, archival and advanced workflow services. Katz followed-up Mailspect with Match-My-EMail, an email business intelligence and sales workflow SaaS. Michael worked in Global Financial account management roles at Cisco, Juniper, Infoblox, A10 and Anomali. Michael was a Systems Engineer IV and a Consulting Systems Engineer at Cisco from 1995-2002 in the New York City financial, cable and service provider markets. Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Miami and a Master’s degree in Hard Work.

    After 26 years of service in the US Air Force as a cyberspace operations officer, Monti Knode joined Horizon 3 AI as the Director of Customer Success.  Prior to joining Horizon 3 AI, he led teams setting up tactical communications in austere environments, secured and defended the Air Force’s $12B multi-classification networks, was a Deputy CIO at US Transportation Command transforming their logistics enterprise and innovating the DoD’s “Sprint to the Cloud” effort, and commanded nation-state hackers and strategy in support of our own national security interests.  Monti is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), holds an Electrical Engineering bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming, and two Masters, including as a Distinguished Graduate from The Eisenhower School as one of the top 300 performers in government.

  • Adam Lee

    Adam S. Lee is Dominion Energy’s vice president and chief security officer.

    He directs the development and implementation of corporate security strategy and policies which protect the company’s physical and cyber assets, valued at $100 billion and spanning 18 states. He is Dominion Energy’s security and intelligence liaison with the U.S. government and federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. Lee joined the company in this role in 2018. 

    Before joining Dominion Energy, Lee served as Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Richmond Division. In 2018, he retired from the FBI after a career spanning 22 years in counter-terrorism, counter-intelligence, and cyber investigations and operations, in addition to specializing in cases involving political and governmental corruption, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and antitrust violations.  Lee previously served as the FBI's executive over its national Public Corruption Program, overseeing the FBI’s most sensitive criminal investigations involving elected and appointed officials across the spectrum of government.

    Lee is a member of World 50, a private community for CEOs and C-level executives at globally respected companies to discover better ideas, share valuable experiences, and build relationships that make a lasting impact.  Additionally, he is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Central Virginia Law Enforcement Executives Association, and the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association. 

    Lee is a passionate supporter of our nation’s veterans.  He serves as Dominion Energy’s executive leader over its Veteran Resource Group, and, in 2019, he was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Richmond Fisher House, which supports families of veterans seeking medical care.

    Lee is an attorney licensed in the State of California. Prior to his career in national and corporate security, he served as a Fellow in the California State Senate and Counsel to the California State Allocation Board.  He is married to Melinda, and father of Finn, Abigail, and Virginia.

  • Matias Madou

    Matias is the CTO and co-founder of Secure Code Warrior. Matias holds a Ph.D. in computer engineering from Ghent University, where he studied application security through program obfuscation, working primarily on static analysis solutions. With his Ph.D., he moved to the U.S. to join Fortify Software (acquired by HP) and stayed seven years to build out his career. Starting as an intern, he became the research architect for all the runtime solutions spanning Fortify and ArcSight products.

    During his time at Fortify, he thought it was far too easy to find security problems in code if you never teach the developer how to write secure code in the first place. With this in mind, he started Sensei Security; a company that eventually merged with Secure Code Warrior. When he is not at his desk as part of Team Awesome, he enjoys being on stage presenting at conferences including BSIMM, RSA Conference, BlackHat and DefCon.

    As Vice President of Global Security for Herbalife, Jana Monroe is responsible for all security functions throughout the company, including Executive Protection, Physical and Cybersecurity, Employee, Facility, and Property security, Investigations, Safety, Business Continuity and Crisis Response.

    Jana joined Herbalife from the multi-billion dollar electric utility company, Southern California Edison Company (SCE), where she was the Chief Security Officer charged with transforming security services for SCE, a major part of the key national infrastructure.  Business Resiliency was her responsibility, including the creation and management of SCE’s Emergency Operation’s Center; Threat Management Program; Information Asset Security; Intelligence and Risk Analysis; Investigations; and Executive Protection. Jana also assumed a leadership role in developing external partnerships with federal, state, and local law enforcement, in addition to forging public/private alliances with security entities in all facets of private industry. 

    Before entering the corporate arena, Jana had a distinguished 22-year career in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). She held a variety of field investigative and operational roles across the U.S., including five plus years as a “Criminal Profiler” at Quantico, VA. Her career culminated with Jana pioneering as one of few women in the FBI Executive Leadership ranks. She served as Special Agent in Charge (SAC) in Phoenix, Arizona and Los Angeles, California, two of the largest FBI field offices in the U.S.; and was the first Assistant Director of the FBI Cyber Division, based in Washington D.C.;  

    Jana’s awards and recognition include Security 500 Organization (and magazine) 2012 award as One of Five Most Influential Chief Security Officers (CSO) in the United States; inclusion on Information Security magazine’s list of top ten Cybersecurity Leaders in the United States; and YWCA Top Ten Women of the Year.

    James L. Turgal, Jr, was formerly Executive Assistant Director (EAD), Information and Technology Branch, entered on duty in March 1996 and was assigned to the Houston Division, working Organized Crime and Drug investigations.  Upon being promoted as a Supervisory Special Agent, he was assigned to FBI Headquarters, Office of General Counsel and the Counterterrorism Division, as the senior counsel for Domestic Terrorism Operations.
     

    In 2002, Jim was assigned to the Cincinnati Division as Chief Division Counsel, Media Spokesperson, and Supervisory Special Agent.  Four years later, he returned to FBI Headquarters to lead the Director’s Research Group. He later became the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of Administration at the Washington Field office. 

    In 2010, Jim was selected to serve as the Special Assistant to the Deputy Director, providing counsel on various national security, criminal, and administrative issues affecting the FBI.  One year later, he was designated Special Agent in Charge of the Phoenix Division, where he oversaw several high profile cases, including the shooting of U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.  In 2012, Jim returned to FBI Headquarters, as the Deputy Assistant Director of the Human Resources Division (HRD).

    In August 2013, Director Robert S. Mueller, III appointed Jim as the Assistant Director (AD) of the HRD.  During this time, he served as the AD and Human Resource Officer.

    On February 10, 2016, Director James B. Comey, Jr. announced the appointment of James L. Turgal, Jr., as the EAD of the Information and Technology Branch.

    Jim is also a FBI certified pilot.
