Collette Creppell AIA, is Chapman University’s Vice President of Campus Planning and Design. Previously Ms. Creppell served as university architect at Brown University in Providence, RI and as university architect and director of campus planning for Tulane University in New Orleans, LA (eight of the ten years were post-Katrina campus rebuilding and renewal). Ms. Creppell trained in the architecture firms of Pritzker Prize winner Rafael Moneo in Spain as well as of AIA Gold Medalists Ben Thompson and Moshe Safdie, respectively, in the U.S. and abroad. Having established and run a small design and planning firm in New Orleans, Collette later became a principal and director of urban strategies in the nationally recognized design firm Eskew+Dumez+Ripple. While practicing, Ms. Creppell taught as a clinical assistant professor at Tulane School of Architecture. A former city planner in New York City, Ms. Creppell served as Executive Director of the New Orleans City Planning Commission.
Ms. Creppell is an Elected Director of the Harvard Alumni Association, has chaired the national awards jury for the Society of College and University Planning, vice-chaired the Board of the New Orleans Building Corporation, and served on numerous non-profit, civic and educational boards. Helen Norris is Vice President for information technology and CIO at Chapman University, where she is responsible for leading the university’s information technology strategy and services, and oversight of the University Library.
Previously, Helen was the Associate CIO at California State University, Sacramento, where she focused on enterprise systems, data analytics, and infrastructure. Before that, Helen spent twelve years at UC Berkeley where she held progressive information technology management roles at both the departmental and central levels. She also previously worked as VP for IT for an advertising agency and a law firm, both in St. Louis, Missouri.
Helen serves on several boards. She was appointed to serve a 4-year term on the EDUCAUSE (educause.edu) Board of Directors starting October 2019. She serves as the Vice-Chair of the Southern California Society for Information Management (scsim.org) and Chair of the board of the National Endowment for Financial Education (nefe.org). Additionally, she is a member of the board of advisors for EmpowHer Institute (empowher.org), whose mission is to empower young women through education, training, and mentorship as they prepare for college and their careers. She serves on the Dell Higher Education Advisory Board and the governing board for the CIO Summit in Los Angeles. Dr. John O'Brien serves as the president and CEO of EDUCAUSE, a nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education through technology innovation. EDUCAUSE serves over 2,000 member colleges, universities, and organizations from 41 countries who themselves collectively serve over 14 million students. In his role as CEO, he speaks and writes on a variety of topics related to higher education, technology, and the crucial intersection where the two meet.
Throughout his 30-year career in higher education, John has served in a variety of key leadership roles. Before his EDUCAUSE appointment in 2015, John served as senior vice chancellor for academic and student affairs at Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, the fourth largest higher education system in the United States serving over 375,000 students. In this position, he was dedicated to ensuring student success and implemented strategic changes to help the 37 colleges and universities in the system adapt to the changing needs of higher education. Prior to this role, John served as president of North Hennepin Community College (NHCC), and before that was director of the "Students First" initiative, a system-wide effort that redesigned online systems to better meet students’ needs, especially those taking courses from more than one college/university. John’s past experience also includes senior positions at Century College, where he was chief academic officer and subsequently acting president. John also served as associate vice chancellor for instructional technology and deputy CIO for the Minnesota State system. In addition to his experience as a higher education executive, John is an award-winning professor at the college and university level, teaching at a wide variety of institutions. He was a faculty member at Normandale Community College, Augsburg University, the University of Minnesota, the University of St. Thomas, and Augustana University.

Rochelle Radzyminski is a second year PhD student at Stanford University studying applied physics. Rochelle is working on building a portable spectroscope for multiplexed imaging and monitoring of tumor progression. She is a 2019 graduate of the University of California, Irvine, where she received a bachelor’s degree in physics. Rochelle is passionate about teaching and hopes to become a professor upon completing her PhD. She hopes to make physics more accessible and promote equity across all STEM disciplines. When she is not in the lab working on her research, Rochelle can be found mountain biking, bird watching, or playing violin.
