A looming recession and softening business conditions have prompted many senior leadership teams to focus on cost cutting. Nevertheless, business technology leaders are still being counted upon to help drive innovation and to create new revenue opportunities. One way to do that is by leveraging artificial intelligence tools to unearth fresh insights into customer preferences and shifting behaviors that can then spur new business opportunities ahead of the market.

In this executive panel discussion, world-class CIOs, technology leaders and industry executives share their recommendations for utilizing customer data and AI to mine new business opportunities and to monetize data more effectively.

EXECUTIVE PANEL:  Addressing the Leadership Cycle – Identifying and Developing the Next-Generation of Tech Chiefs

Moderator:  Mark Polansky, Former Senior Partner, Korn Ferry and Executive in Residence, HMG Strategy

Denise Russell Fleming, Chief Information Officer & EVP, Technology and Global Services, Becton Dickinson

David Mahon, Global CISO, Deloitte

Rusty Patel, former SVP & CIO, Tenneco

Gabrielle Wolfson, CIO & CDO, Quest Diagnostics

The average age for CIOs across industries in the U.S. is 55, according to Korn Ferry. And while that’s hardly considered elderly, the average age of CIOs in the 1,000 largest companies jumped significantly over the past several years. While there are multiple factors that are contributing to this trend, including the increased experience that’s needed in the role, this also calls into question whether organizations have adequate mentoring, leadership development and succession programs in place for up-and-coming technology executives.

In this Executive Panel discussion, global technology leaders and industry experts with a mix of experience will share their insights on where they see leadership development headed along with the gaps that need to be addressed.

  • Tonkean

Tonkean is the OS for Business Operations, empowering operations teams to rapidly improve efficiency with an enterprise-grade, composable automation platform. By allowing ops teams to automate, monitor, and manage mission-critical business processes with no-code, while still maintaining compliance and security, Tonkean enables enterprises to accelerate operational velocity at scale. The Tonkean platform makes automating complex business processes simple and accessible to non-developers, such as business operations teams and process owners, by abstracting the high technical barrier and coding expertise needed to deliver robust, enterprise-grade process solutions via composability. Ops teams compose custom process solutions using building blocks called “enterprise components” or ECs. ECs are modular, interchangeable, and reusable capabilities that perform actions or complete steps in a business process. ECs are fully governed and curated, typically by IT. They can be adopted from vendors or custom built, or they can simply be extensions of existing tools and systems. This allows ops and process experts to rapidly build holistic process solutions that can work with different systems, easily adapt to changing needs, and measure cross-functional KPIs–all with no-code and no change management. Enterprises like Google, EVERSANA, Instacart, Grubhub, Crypto.com, and more rely on Tonkean to optimize and align their operations across functions—including sales, marketing, customer support, legal, finance, and more. With Tonkean, enterprises can expand the pie of who can deliver software to make a world of Makers.
