Experience: Carol’s board experience includes 3 public and 1 privately held company. In addition, she is a founding board member for “A Little Compassion,” a non-profit company whose mission is to create work experience/employment opportunities for young adults with disabilities building a bridge to adulthood and a member of the Advisory Board for OpsCruise, a Silicon Valley start-up. Carol is a National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Leadership Fellow and has earned the NACD Certificate of Cyber Oversight from the CERT Division of the Software Engineering Institute based at Carnegie Mellon University. With over 30 years of experience in the IT industry, Carol recently retired as the SVP & Global Chief Information Officer at Bechtel Corporation where she oversaw Bechtel’s Global Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) organization with responsibility for Bechtel’s business and technology solutions, cybersecurity, infrastructure and operations, analytics and data science, innovation, emerging technology and knowledge management for Bechtel business lines and projects worldwide. Carol led a global team of +1000 results-oriented professionals focused on revenue growth, digital transformation, innovation, global collaboration, information security and operational efficiency as well as customer and partner relationships. Carol’s prior experience includes: Vice President & Chief Information Officer of Xerox Corporation, Vice President & Chief Information Officer of ITT Corporation, and Vice President & Chief Information Officer of 3 Northrop Grumman sectors – Electronics, Information Technology and Mission Systems. Carol’s extensive professional experience includes Digital Transformation; Cybersecurity; Big Data and Analytics; Merger, Acquisition & Divestiture; Strategic Planning; Knowledge Management; Governance & Compliance; Business Continuity & Resumption; Strategic Alliances/Supplier Management and Enterprise Project Management. Carol was one of nine CIOs featured in the book “Confessions of a Successful CIO” by Dan Roberts. She served key roles in industry groups including Kleiner Perkins CIO Strategy Exchange (CIOSE) – an invitation only group of 50 global CIOs, Oracle President’s Council and Nutanix Advisory board. She has been a guest speaker for Meg Whitman’s global leadership team at HP and a speaker at various CIO conferences and University events. Under Carol’s leadership, Bechtel received two CIO Magazine’s Top 100 awards (2017: Big Data & Analytics Center of Excellence; 2018: Robotic Process Automation). In 2019, Carol was recognized as the Capital CIO of the Year.
