Chris Walter is Vice President and CIO for Central Garden & Pet Company, a manufacturer and distributor of garden, pet, and professionally applied products sold through major retail and B2B outlets.  He is responsible for overseeing Central’s Information Services strategy, operations and ensuring alignment of our technology platforms with our business strategies and objectives. Chris joined Central in 2005 as Director of Enterprise Systems and successfully led the SAP implementation team, reducing the number of ERP systems from 26 to today’s count of six ERP systems.  Chris has over 20 years of IT experience including nine years in the Price Waterhouse / PricewaterhouseCoopers Management Consulting practice where he served a diverse set of clients.  His seasoned experience includes leading process improvement initiatives, sales development in software and services, as well as starting and leading a software company. Chris earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration / Industrial Distribution Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
