Douglas Hegley, Chief Digital Officer at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, has been at the forefront of driving digital transformation in the cultural heritage sector for over 20 years. With formal training in psychology, he always puts people first and is keenly focused on human-centered design. During 14 years at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York he helped create collaborative technology operations and deliver engaging digital content to visitors. In 2011 he joined the Minneapolis Institute of Art, where he sets the vision and strategy for digital media and technology, and focuses efforts on adopting new leadership models, strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration and team-building. Mr. Hegley is a strong advocate for productive and transformative organizational change, keeping pace with innovation and new business models. He has been recognized by his peers as a leader in the field, is a frequent public speaker, and has served on boards and committees at city, state, regional and national levels.
