Jim Crawford is Vice President and Group Business Information Officer (BIO) for Kaiser Permanente’s 3.5 million Southern California members and over 200 thousand members in Hawaii. As the BIO, Jim is responsible for the delivery of Information Technology for the 4000 Physicians and the 45,000 Health Plan employees who work in the 14 medical centers and over 130 medical office buildings across Southern California. As well as 400 Physicians and the 4400 Health Plan employees who work in the medical center and 17 medical office buildings across the Hawaiian Islands.
Mr. Crawford has over 20 years of experience working in Information Technology Organizations. Prior to joining the Southern California Region in 2006, he was the Senior Director of Planning and Operations for the Care Delivery Portfolio and Regional Chief Information Officer Organization. Mr. Crawford was the Regional Chief Information Officer for the Georgia and Ohio Regions.
Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, he worked at Tempus Entertainment as the Director of Information Systems and Retail Operations and served in a similar role for the outdoor retailer Patagonia. Mr. Crawford started his career at Accenture.
Mr. Crawford holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles with additional training from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and The Kenan-Flager Business School. Chairs the board of Health-e-LA, is a board member for the LANES collaborative, the Barlow Foundation and on the CIO Exec Summit Governance Body.
