K. Scott Vowels is senior vice president and Chief Cybersecurity Officer for Comerica Incorporated. He is responsible for overseeing Comerica’s Cybersecurity and Technology Risk programs. This includes programs to assess risk, monitor, identify and protect against cyber threats, Cybersecurity operations, security architecture and strategy as well as the company’s hunt program.
Vowels joined Comerica in 2001 as manager of security architecture and engineering. Since that time, he has held positions of increasing responsibility in Comerica’s Information Technology Department. Prior to coming to Comerica, Vowels managed an information technology and security team at the University of Michigan.
Vowels holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designation through the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium. He is involved in several security and privacy organizations, including the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center, an industry resource for cyber and physical threat intelligence analysis and sharing; and other collaborative security organizations.
