Justice and equity have motivated Mike Gross to improve education for all children. A youth development and urban education leader with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, Mike’s experience includes a decade as a teacher and founder of award-winning youth leadership programs and over a decade of systemic education reform work with organizations including New Leaders, Kaplan, Sponsors for Educational Opportunity and the NYC Department of Education.
Mike received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, is a graduate of the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs, and received his M.B.A from the Kellogg School of Management
Mike believes that the cycle of intergenerational poverty will not be broken unless we engage the whole community – private, public and non-profit sectors – in the effort. As the founding Executive Director of Genesys Works NYC, he is honored to provide transformational work opportunities to young people from these neighborhoods to help them break that cycle and achieve their full potential.
