Rand is the President and CEO of Convergent Computing, a California and Singapore based technology and strategy consulting firm he founded over 30 years ago. Rand’s firm helps enterprises transform organizational I.T. environments into modern nimble environments leveraging the latest in cloud, mobile, and secured enterprise computing solutions.
Rand has written over 60 global bestselling books on organizational behavior, business ethics, and transformational technologies including his latest books titled “Adapting to the New World of I.T.” and “Handling Electronically Stored Information (ESI) in the Era of the Cloud.”
Rand spends a day a month in some courtroom around the world as an expert witness in digital asset integrity, electronically stored information data protection, and content chain of custody cases.
In his free time, Rand is a member of the Board of Trustees for St.Mary's College and serves as its Chair of Academic Affairs and Enrollment, and a member of the Governance and the Executive committees. Rand is also an active member of the Research Board for the Institute of Human Origins @ASU.
Some of Rand’s past roles include being the Cybersecurity Advisor to President Bush (2002-2007) and Y2K Advisor to President Clinton, member of the Board for the Chabot Space and Science Center, and member of the Advisory Board for the Institute of International Education (IIE).
