Susan Certoma is an executive leading next-generation businesses and developing innovative technology solutions for the Financial Services industry. In her leadership roles, Susan has been responsible for managing business P&L’s as well as global technology divisions across multiple product areas. In her Board and Advisory roles, she has worked with CEO’s in multiple industries focused on business value and transformation.
Susan is currently a Director on the Southwest Power Pool Board as well as a member of the Finance Committee. In addition, she holds strategic advisory roles at a major insurance company and an established global Financial Technology firm along with serving on Strategic Advisory Boards for multiple start-ups. She is also an FWSIM Board Director and has served as the President of the Board.
Before focusing on Board and Advisory roles, Susan was President of Enterprise Engineering, Inc. (EEI). She had responsibility for all aspects of the strategic consulting and software businesses.
Previous to her role at EEI, Susan was President of the Wealth & Markets Division at Broadridge, responsible for Strategy, Technology, Architecture, Sales, Product Development, Business Development, Client Relationships and Service Delivery.
Prior to Broadridge, Ms. Certoma was the global Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Corporate & Investment Bank at Wachovia. In her role, she created a premier technology organization, which transformed the bank’s technology into an industry-leading platform.
At Goldman Sachs, Susan led Global Sales/Trading Technology. She also was responsible for the Strategy and Planning function reporting to the global CIO.
Susan also has held senior leadership positions in Technology & Operations at Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers, First Boston (Credit Suisse) and Royal Bank of Canada.
As a leader, she has chaired committees for Women in Technology, Learning & Development, Career Development, Employee Engagement and Talent Management.
Susan is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of St. John’s University with a B.S in Management / Economics and an MBA in Finance. She has also completed Special Study Programs at Dartmouth College and Yale University along with Executive Education Programs at UNC Chapel Hill and Wharton.
Susan was recognized by Forbes as one of the top 25 Women in Technology. She was also a Gold Book Honoree by Wall Street & Technology and one of the Women Worth Watching by Profiles in Diversity Journal. In addition, her high performing teams have received industry-wide recognition across a broad spectrum of platforms. She is a member of several Women’s Networks including 100 Women in Finance and Meytier.
In addition to her current roles, Susan has served on the following Boards: Direct Edge Stock Exchange (Ranked in the top 4 U.S. Exchanges; acquired by BATS Global Markets), Mediant, Make-A-Wish Connecticut, Enterprise Data Management Council and several early stage FinTech firms.
