In the current business landscape, there’s continued economic uncertainty. While recession concerns have eased, other financial and political  headwinds are causing concerns.

As a result of these geo-economic trends, CIOs and business technology executives are being looked upon by the CEO, the C-suite and the board of directors to provide visionary leadership to help their organizations navigate these choppy waters smoothly.

Last month, we kicked off our Fall CIO & CISO Executive Leadership Summit Series in Atlanta with a focus on these themes along with the opportunities to reimagine and reinvent the business through the use of Generative AI and other emerging technologies.

We’ve also been seeing strong growth in attendance at our summits. Two weeks ago, we hosted our 2023 Southern California CIO Executive Leadership Summit in Partnership with Southern California SIM and achieved record registration for the event, which is now in its 14th year.

Last week, we held CIO Executive Leadership Summits in Chicago and Detroit and continued discussions on these topics with top global business technology leaders in each of these cities. Our Chicago summit, produced in partnership with SIM Chicago, was truly a world-class event held at the University Club of Chicago.

We kicked off the Chicago summit with an executive keynote from Talvis Love, SVP & CIO at Baxter International on the topic of ‘Communicating AI to the C-suite and the Board.’ Talvis shared how AI can be viewed as both a positive as well as the risks associated with utilizing AI, and he offered great advice on how to position these differences to the Board and to the C-suite.

The event continued with topical discussions on the visionary leadership needed by business technology executives to successfully navigate global macro-economic challenges along with the nuances of deploying AI effectively to generate new business opportunities and Go-to-Market models – all while safeguarding the hybrid workplace from cyber threats and other risks.

A key element to our event model and to HMG’s Global Digital Platform is the importance of recognizing the exceptional leadership of top-tier CIOs, CDOs, CISOs, CTOs and other business technology executives, industry leaders, VCs and search executives who are delivering unparalleled business value to their organizations in a highly challenging global economy. Global executives recognized for their visionary and resilient leadership for HMG Strategy’s 2023 Global Leadership Institute Awards at the Chicago Summit included:
