In today’s fast-changing business landscape, it’s not your competitors that threaten your company’s survival. It’s your organization’s willingness and capacity to disrupt its existing business model or be disrupted. Because the CIO is at the center of the digital transformation journey she or he is uniquely positioned to deliver fearless leadership, fuse emerging technologies with process redesign and people skills, partner with the C-suite and board of directors, and successfully navigate the business into the future.
The courageous leadership traits needed to foster a culture of innovation and transformation on the path to genius will be the focal point of the 2018 Boston CIO Executive Leadership Summit.

Year Up promises an internship in a professional organization to every student that earns one. As Year Up continues to expand the number of students they serve, almost 600 students per year in Boston alone, Jim is responsible for building relationships with Boston business’ that have the capacity and desire to host Year Up students and hire Year Up graduates.
Jim is also responsible for managing Year Up’s existing relationship with Partners HealthCare, who historically hosted a dozen interns a year, and has grown that to 23, with mutual commitments to reach 35 interns per year. Partners has hired over 112 Year Up graduates!
Prior to joining Year Up, Jim enjoyed an extensive career in the technology world, with an emphasis on growing sales in early stage companies, but also as CEO of a few start-ups. Jim believes his greatest successes have been driven by careful listening, and understanding the needs of those organizations he’s partnered with. Jim continues practicing those skills in understanding the hiring needs of Boston’s businesses to inform Year Up’s curriculum choices, and ultimately matching the Year Up interns and grads to the mid-skill, entry-level roles businesses have the hardest time filling.
Jim is happily married and enjoying an empty nest, after raising two amazing young men, with two grandsons, so far. He enjoys sailing and tennis during our brief summers.
