Adnan is a driven executive and hands-on leader with strong security and technology knowledge and business acumen. He has 15+ years of experience building and maintaining security, compliance, risk, privacy and technology programs. With a passion for security, product, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, he has deep experience in security/cybersecurity strategy, risk management, architecture, infrastructure/network security, application/product security, IAM, governance, business continuity and disaster recovery across cloud, hybrid and on-premise environments. He has a proven record of building programs with teams across the organization, such as product, engineering, IT, sales, support, legal, finance, marketing and HR. Adnan has deep experience in leading teams and building security, compliance & privacy programs such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI, GDPR, Privacy Shield, FedRAMP, SOX, HIPAA, etc., at various organizations including SaaS startups.
Prior to eBay, Adnan has served in various leadership roles at MuleSoft (got acquired by Salesforce), Vera, Protiviti, Safeway, Blue Cross Blue Shield & Deloitte. Prior to Deloitte, he served as a Manager of Software Engineering building web applications. Adnan has a Master’s degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s degree of Engineering in Information Technology. He holds the following certifications: Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) and COBIT Foundation Certificate.
For over six years, Adnan has served on the board of directors of ISACA (San Francisco and then Silicon Valley). He is currently serving as the Vice President and executive board member for ISACA Silicon Valley. He is an active advisor of SecureWorld and a researcher for the Cloud Security Alliance. He has been affiliated with ISSA, IAPP, OWASP, SANS, ISC2, IIA & ACFE. He has spoken at various industry conferences & events. He recently spoke on the following topics: “Future Threatscape – Ransomware & Beyond” and “Protecting your Enterprise from the Human Element: Your Employees and Corporate Spies”.
