Alberto Ruocco

Alberto is an accomplished IT leader whose 35+ years of strategy and implementation experience spans many countries, industry sectors, functions, and business challenges. He has worked with organizations ranging from start-ups to global multinational enterprises with revenues exceeding $25 billion. He possesses unique capabilities for helping executive colleagues and board members understand how to invest strategically in and leverage technology to create efficient and effective operations and pursue growth opportunities.

 

Alberto Ruocco is currently the Chief Information Officer at West Monroe, a national business and technology consultancy headquartered in Chicago, IL.  He is responsible for establishing an IT vision and strategy that enable West Monroe’s people to work and collaborate anytime, anywhere to serve clients. He also oversees all facets of IT operations, including corporate operations applications and solutions to support client services, IT governance and strategy, IT process and program management, IT operations, knowledge management, data and analytics, security and infrastructure, vendor and partner management, and IT due diligence and integration support for the firm’s acquisitions.

 

Prior to his position at West Monroe, Alberto was a Senior Executive Partner at Gartner where he advised 20+ CIOs and their teams across the U.S.

 

Previously, Alberto was vice president and chief information officer for American Electric Power, a leading U.S. electric utility serving 5.4 million customers in 11 states. He led efforts to transform the Fortune 200 company with a 10-year telecommunication, infrastructure, and applications renewal program. He also directed growth of the organization’s cybersecurity team and presented frequently to the board on IT and cybersecurity risk management. In addition, he has held CIO roles for BlueStar Energy Solutions (acquired by American Electric Power) and Kerry Americas, a food ingredients manufacturer.

 

Earlier in his career, Alberto spent more than 20 years in consulting. His management roles included executive vice president and leader for The Revere Group’s (an NTT DATA Group Company) Manufacturing, Distribution & Trade practice; leader of its Integrated Enterprise practice; and managing director of the Chicago office. He also was a senior manager in Deloitte Consulting’s CIO Advisory Services and Manufacturing Industry practices.  He is a frequent speaker and published author.

 

Alberto earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture from Yale University and a Master of Business Administration degree in Management Policy and International Business from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He is a member of the board of Compass, a non-profit that partners with Chicago professionals to advise local non-profits on strategic topics, including digital and information technology strategies.
