Aref is a technology innovator adept at building world-class technology teams, developing products, and modernizing and globalizing technologies and platforms. 

Previous role(s) and achievements Aref has held executive leadership roles in several industries including professional training, publishing, and communications. Prior to joining Wiley, Aref was EVP and CTO at Ascend Learning, an industry-leading provider of career training content. There, he consolidated technologies and organizations and developed a highly successful standardized training platform. Previously, at Pearson Global Education Services, Aref defined the company’s technology and product strategy and led a highly complex global technology and product transformation in partnership with the business.
