Bill Blount is Vice President and Chief Information Officer at VelocityEHS.  He has a 30-year track record of building collaborative, high-functioning teams in rapidly growing companies.  He is known for his people-first approach that delivers consistent value through highly scalable and resilient digital solutions.  Bill was a consultant for a diverse roster of clients, including the United States Department of Health and Human Services, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and Oracle Corporation.  In addition, he directed operational successes for notable companies like PayFlex, where, as CIO, he led the company’s post-acquisition integration into Aetna, and for the private equity-backed benefitexpress resulting in its acquisition by WEX.  Bill is the President-Elect of SIM Chicago and mentors several professionals and college students.  He was named the 2021 CIO Innovator of the Year by SIM Chicago, The Executives Club of Chicago, and AITP Chicago.  Bill earned his BS in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse and is pursuing his MBA through the University of Wisconsin MBA Consortium.
