Most recently, Brad Strock served as the CIO of PayPal, a Fortune 250 company that is transforming the world of global payments, commerce, and how individuals access financial services. Brad has over 30 years of experience in helping companies grow through disruptive technologies and digital transformation. Throughout his career, he has led numerous business turnarounds, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic growth initiatives. Brad has a unique mix of expertise spanning business strategy, finance, risk management, and operations, coupled with a deep passion for technology and how it can transform businesses to drive growth through digital transformation. He has demonstrated experience in influencing and driving change spanning the boardroom to the individual contributor level.
Brad led a broad scope of responsibilities contributing to PayPal’s ten?year revenue growth rate of over 20% annually. He led a team of over 1,400 providing both IT functions and software development for operations platforms supporting a global enterprise operating in 200 markets, 24 languages and 65 locations. Brad served at PayPal for over seven years, and in the CIO role he led the transformation of PayPal\’s operations platforms to support dramatic user growth while holding costs flat and creating incremental revenue opportunities. He also transformed how technology can enable a large global workforce to operate with the speed and flexibility of a startup. Brad also led the IT separation from eBay in 2015.
Prior to PayPal, Brad held several senior executive roles at Bank of America, including leading the Next Generation Payments and Commerce team that created what is now the Zelle payments platform. Prior to Bank of America, Brad led the creation of a new rewards platform at JP Morgan Chase that has delivered innovative new credit card products propelling growth. Brad\’s early career spanned a wide range of strategy and financial roles including M&A work, turnarounds, and strategic planning roles.
Brad currently serves as an Independent Director of Elevate Credit (NYSE: ELVT), as well as Hiinga, a nonprofit providing micro loans in Africa. He is a frequent speaker at both business and technology forums and has authored numerous articles on innovation as well as being a coinventor on several U.S. Patents. He is a passionate supporter of building diverse, high performing teams. He received his MSM (MBA) in Finance from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University, along with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue. He and his wife, Vicky, have been married for 30 years and have three children.
