Curtis Hughes is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Midrex Technologies, where he is responsible for defining and executing the company’s global technology strategy, providing collaborative, innovative and transformational solutions for Midrex\’s customers, partners, and employees across more than 20 countries worldwide. He is a member of the Midrex Executive Leadership Team and one of two Executive Advisors to its Innovation Council, which focuses on fostering intrapreneurship, innovation and idea-generation among Midrex employees.
Prior to joining Midrex, Curtis spent nearly two decades as a trusted business leader and technology strategist for corporations and government agencies across North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. During this time, he founded or co-founded three companies, the most recent being C5 Insight, a management consulting firm named twice to the INC 5000 list of fastest growing privately held companies, where he served as Managing Partner.
In 2012, Curtis was named as one of Charlotte\’s \”40 Under 40\” in recognition of his business accomplishments and commitment to the community. He frequently shares his experience by writing on leadership and technology trends, and speaking at business and technology conferences around the world.
Curtis holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte (UNCC). He previously served in a leadership role for the Information Technology Advisory Council (ITAC) for the American Red Cross, and currently sits on the Board of Advisors for the UNCC College of Computing and Informatics (CCI).
