Deal is a 25-year veteran of the technology industry. He is currently the VP IT and Technology at Toysmith, one of the largest wholesale/distributors of Toys in the US. He leads IT, technology, security, and business process reengineering functions for the corporation.

Prior to this, Deal has led IT, M&A, technology and information security functions at LexisNexis, Intuit (TurboTax, etc.), Ancestry.com and several startups including Hammerspace as CIO in Residence.

Deal currently holds advisory board positions at Hammerspace (global file system) and MX.com (fin-tech) and has held similar advisory board positions at Dell and EMC.
