Dr. Daniel J Durand, MD (“Dan”) is a physician executive with deep expertise in health system administration, digital health, population health management, and value-based contracting.

Dr. Durand leads Innovation and Research for LifeBridge Health, a $2.5B health system based in Maryland serving over 1 million patients. Dan is currently accountable for overseeing all of LifeBridge’s projects, investments, and partnerships related to biomedical research, digital health, and value-based contracting.

Dan previously served as the founding Executive Director of the LifeBridge Health Clinically Integrated Network (CIN), which grew to include over 500 providers managing over 100,000 lives in value-based contracts. Under his leadership, the LifeBridge CIN produced over $100M in population health savings, which encompassed 2 Medicare MSSP ACOs, a minority ownership of the Johns Hopkins Medicare Advantage product, and 4 other VBC arrangements with commercial payers and MCOs.

Dan trained at Johns Hopkins, where he held several leadership positions and served as the first Director of Accountable Care. He was a member of the executive leadership team at digital health startup Evolent Health (NYSE:EVH), helping grow annual revenues from $8M to $118M en route to a successful IPO. Prior to Evolent, Dan worked as a physician consultant with the Washington, DC office of McKinsey & Co, where his practice was focused on integrated heath systems, payers, and healthcare policy.

Dan’s writing has appeared in top journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American Medical Association. He regularly lectures at national conferences on topics related to medical innovation.
